I think it would be fun to do some sort of Tour de France style thing with all the marble teams, but that's probably not the scale they want to do things at for the time being. It'd just be neat to have a competition where you didn't have teams left out.

Green Ducks have been sliding down the standings for awhile now and it's sad to see. I like the Thunderbolts but I might consider them Team 2 to Green Ducks Team 1 in terms of fandom.

The four way photo finish to cap off the event was neato.

In my opinion, it was a bit of a heartless move to pull the Rojo Rollers HC aside and fire him before the event had even concluded. At least let him get back to the training ground or something. I guess that's just the Marble League, though.

Y'know I've only listened to the new album once when it initially came out and nothing immediately grabbed me. I also tend to forget it exists. When they "retired" I just sort of resigned myself to only having those three albums and so that became what LCD Soundsystem is to me. With some bands it's really hard for me to step out of my comfort zone after I've become deeply familiar with a part of the discography. I'll have to give it another spin at some point.

Team Momo really missed an opportunity to widen the gap there with many of the higher ranked competitors sitting out that final heat. Poor form to only finish 7th.

Thunderbolts are indeed having a fun run on the standings. It feels like Green Ducks are fading a bit so I hope Thunderbolts can keep this "streak" up for as long as possible.

Rojo Tres, assuming they were the one that got dump trucked by CCE last round seemed to still be feeling the affects. A shame to see such a dirty move having further reaching effects.

And also a congrats to Gogo for earning their first medal as an individual performer. Always a nice moment to see them on the medal stand for the first time.

I don't remember TOO much about who nominated what, but I do remember it was RustyMrMokka to nominate that song. His five nominations (or was it 4?) I think all might've made Top 20. But there were a lot of gems in that list that influenced a lot of my tastes today, LCD Soundsystem definitely being the biggest influence.

I did a user nominated song ranking over ten years back and house of jealous lovers was nominated. I think it finished in the 30s? I'm not entirely sure and I think think the list is lost to time. Either way, I think I remember it steadily moving up the list as I continued to listen to it which speaks to the growth potential. The shrilling "HOUSE OF! JEALOUS LOVERS!" part is the only thing I can remember at this point.

I didn't know James Murphy was involved with the creation of the song, though. That's interesting especially given how All My Friends topped that list.

I first "heard" (in that I recognized it was the song I was hearing) Once in a Lifetime when David Byrne was the musical guest on SNL. I don't know why, but something about that performance really stuck with me and I found myself thinking about it a bunch for about two weeks after. I've always liked the song since, but I dunno something about that performance seems like my favorite "version" of the song. I guess it's from his Broadway show, but I haven't really sought out anything else Talking Heads or David Byrne beyond this.

I'm weird in that sometimes I just like to know one song by one artist and have my joy isolated in it.

Stardew Valley is probably the best example. I didn't know it existed until somebody posted a topic on this board saying it had released that day and referenced Harvest Moon. I have a huge soft spot and nostalgia for Harvest Moon 64, so I immediately went to the Steam page, liked what I saw, and purchased it.

I'd say another example is Persona 3 (FES). All I knew about it was that it was an RPG and the baord was talking about it. I think I might've thought it was rare, so when I saw it at a GameStop, I bought it thinking it was a chance opportunity to purchase the game.

Let's also throw Final Fantasy IX out there. I remember going to a games store with my mom because my cousin had Ogre Battle 64 and I wanted it too. Either I didn't have my N64 at the time or they didn't have a copy of it. The guy recommended FFIX as something similar to Ogre Battle (but is it though?), so I played that as my first Final Fantasy and truly my first RPG in general.

Hey TC, if possible I believe it might help to find a way to put Top 20 in the topic title when posting new rounds. Its a decent tactic for drumming up votes most contest TCs miss.
