Hughette is a very bad name. Also, the character portrait and voice acting for Patriatte do not go together in the least. I'm not a voice actor, so I don't know how improvements can be made overall for the voice acting performances, but it all feels so disjointed.

It doesn't appear so. Every character has a set class. They can promote within it, though. Think Fire Emblem in that regard. There's also a small upgrade tree for each character as well. There also appears to be a lot of characters and whether or not they join you will probably depend on which way you steer the story and how you form Serenoa's convictions. I haven't seen anything that tells you about those yet, though

The scales of conviction were interesting and I'm curious if they will expand upon it at all. From what I've seen in the demo, it seems pretty simplistic on it's face but the idea of needing to know the personalities of your team if you want to sway them is intriguing enough. Will finding the information needed to unlock the dialogue options be more involved than just talking to everyone during the time you are roaming an area? I don't like how it displays which was everyone is leaning, though. I'd prefer that be hidden to make the actuall voting a little more suspenseful.

All said, I've liked what they've shown me so far. I'm definitely leaving towards a Day 1 purchase at the moment.

Your adjacent allies doing an automatic follow up attack is neat, but I'm hoping it gets expanded upon a little. Something like special dual attacks maybe.

I enjoy the goofy literal name and I'm fine is we want to carve out a series a spiritual successors that utilize them.

I recommend playing the game in handheld mode. I think the smaller screen and distance from your eyes helps cover up the flaws that show themselves when you project it to a large screen. I also turned off the edge dimming which also seemed to help me.

I had my first foray into Crusader Kings last year, so I'm still very much scaling the learning curve. Putting more emphasis on the high court sounds very much up my alley, though. I don't really know much about any of the other additions to the game. I haven't fully learned all the different ways I can go about it.

I played about an hour last night. Only done one battle and haven't finished the first chapter yet. However, my main takeaway is that I don't enjoy the art style as much as I thought I did. It looks smudgy. I liked it more undocked so maybe that's how I'll have to play it.

Other than that, I'm intrigued by the convictions system. I have gathered very little knowledge on the game so far so I'm unaware fully what role it will play. Seems like there is a large cast of characters and the game said your convictions determines who may join your party, so I'm interested by that.

VA work I'm super iffy on at the moment, but maybe it'll grow on me.

I'm still thinking there's a lot of potential here for me to enjoy it, though I think if the story starts falling flat I may bounce off. Looking forward to continuing the demo.

I gave the album a listen a few days ago. It was alright, though nothing that inspired me to want to go back and try to rank the tracks. I remember Heroin and Sunday Morning being the standouts. I turned it off before European Son finished because I was not feeling that track at all. Run Run Run sounded like what I imagine typical 60s Rock n' Roll to sound like. Whether that's true or not I'm unsure.

There's potentially there for me to like a straightforward album, so perhaps someday I'll give their third album a try given how CZ described it.

I actually enjoyed the patch content for ARR. It's a lot more intriguing than anything ARR proper did.

I'm currently in the middle of playing they the Yakuza games (in the middle of 4 right now) so I was worried when I saw Yakuza 6 so low because I'm really looking forward to it. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of 3 and seeing as how you haven't dropped it yet makes me think that perhaps we just have different tastes, though I'm not sure how differing tastes can be when it comes to Yakuza.

I fell off immediately after first third despite being intrigued by what the potential last third could be. I was in no mood for a trading card game.

I voted Kirby before reading the others list and realizing that the Eiyuden prequel comes out this year. I contributed over $100 to the Kickstarter so I should probably be more aware of it.

Green Light - Something about this song has just never clicked with me and I think it has to do with the lyrics and their delivery. I'm not really able to break it down. It's still an enjoyable listen, though.

Sober - Sober is another song that never truly gets off the ground for me. It's amazing how much I enjoy this album and how often I'm willing to listen to it despite it taking a couple of songs to really get going. The horns here are fun, though. I don't dislike the song at all, it's just not a good handshake for the beginning of the album.

Homemade Dynamite - Ah here is where we start going places. Great chorus and great flow on the verses. I've always been a fan of verses that weave in and out of rapid fire lyrics. And as an aside, I also don't hate the remix of this song that you can find out there with Khalid and other popular mainstream acts.

The Louvre - Fuck this song is great. I could do without the boom boom boom parts, but everything else is fantastic. These are probably Lorde's best verses on the album, especially that second one. I could also do without the fade out, but it's good enough. I just want more of the meat of the song.

Liability - I have very few grips with this song. The verses and chorus are both great. I think Lorde does pop better than somber piano ballad, but she's definitely not bad at it and this is an upper tier song on the album.

Hard Feelings/Loveless - This song should've been split up. The two parts are so distinct and being connected ends up dragging both down. There's even a pause between the two sections! Hard Feelings is the weakest part. It's not bad, but the issue is I enjoy Loveless more so the entire time during Hard Feelings I'm just waiting to reach Loveless and don't really want to talk about Hard Feelings which is just pretty okay. The sing-songy bratty playground style of Loveless is a fun ride.

Sober II (Melodrama) - This song is sneaky super good. I wish it was just plainly the title track rather than being linked to one of the weaker tracks on the album, though. It feels like Lorde at her most bitter here. The verses are super biting here.

Writer in the Dark - I really don't like the lyric "bet you rue the day you kissed a writer in the dark" because the in the dark portion seems so superfluous, but everything else about this song is on point, especially that damn chrous. That upper register she hits is simultaneously beautiful and grating in its shrillness which is fully intended as a compliment. I also like how the strings conclude rather than fade out to end the song. I've never been a fan of fading out to end a song.

Supercut - The pre-chorus parts are the star here, as well as the bridge. Probably the best bridge on the album. I think it can be considered a bridge. Song construction often eludes me. If I was a decision-maker, I'd have pushed for this to be the lead single from the album. The premise of the song is a neat one as well. Takes too long to end, though.

Liability (Reprise) - I can appreciate what they were going for here, it just falls a little short for me.

Perfect Places - Without a doubt the best song on the album. I've wanted to say other songs had the best chorus or pre-chorus or was most catchiest or anything, but I couldn't with Perfect Places lingering. The chorus is so damn explosive and cathartic. How this song didn't take over the airwaves is beyond me. It feels like an anthem for a generation. Minor gripe is I wish the second verse had as much meat as the first one did. It just seems to limp into the chorus again.

While I appear to have many critiques of this album, I still love it very much. Lorde, to me, is a very imperfect artist and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've done two isolated listens where I actively ranked the songs to try and finalize a ranking. The top track will always be the same, and the bottom five tracks didn't shift at all between the two listens. But those non-top upper half songs shuffled around a bit. I'll do one more later on in the week and we'll see what I end up with.

Here's a list that would probably shuffle upon another listen. I don't know if it's because I'm super tired or what, but things started to sound a little same-y by the end (and I'm aware the first and last song are the same song). The four French language tracks are all good and just ended up slotted next to each other, but I didn't really listen to lyrics that closely on either listen. This was a good, tight, polished album. It didn't inspire me, but it was enjoyable.

I gave it a listen last night. I enjoyed it. I'll probably give it another play and try and rank them.
