I have all the "big" games at of all of these so I probably won't buy any

They're not. They still have that balance patch, the leap from that to one final expansion ain't that huge.

It's not the whole MMO, it's like an actual "campaign" sort of thing

Love the new stuff in this new version. When the graphics were first revealed I was somewhat against them but seeing it in motion on my own TV it looks just fine. Some of the music I still think is bad but other new tracks are great.

I played the original so much that some old habits are giving me problems, like trying to do certain things that don't work quite the same anymore. I'm sure new habits will form soon enough.

Gotten to 2-4 multiple times but died before reaching the exit each time.

Eh, I think Japan really IS that much farther than us in 3S that switching to a sensible format wouldn't make much difference. For SF4 though, yeah, I think foreign teams could do a lot better if SBO was different.

IANAL but it sounds like they could get around this by making the license only last for a limited period of time. It could be something large but finite like 500 years but I don't think there's any reason it can't be 5 years or 1 year.

If they made it something that short then I would expect the price to be "shortened" accordingly.

In Europe, EULAs have never stood up against actual law

There'd have to be some way to de-activate it from your account and then transfer it over to your buyer.

The crazy thing is that unlike with physical copies, a "used" digital game has no chance of being scratched, missing the case, etc. It is exactly the same as a new copy in every way.

A recent ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union has officially stated that “an author of software cannot oppose the resale of his ‘used’ licences allowing the use of his programs downloaded from the internet”. In essence, it is now illegal in Europe for companies to try to stop you from selling your used digitally distributed software.

As for what qualifies as “used”? Well, the ruling pretty much covers that as well:

The exclusive right of distribution of a copy of a computer program covered by such a licence is exhausted on its first sale.

And that is that. After a company has their first sale, they can’t do anything else about it. This step is huge in the digital distribution sense. You are now officially allowed to sell your Steam / Origin / GoG games and whatever…if you live in Europe.

just last night I was hearing Darry from Norcal saying that "someone" whom he couldn't name but who had intimate dealings with the game directly referred to SFxT as "this f***ing game" at NCR. Hmm, wonder who that could be?

I was looking at a PC version which has the glitches patched, when I get around to playing it.
I would go with GBA, but apparently the sound on these ports really suffers. That's why I was playing a fan translation of FFV even though the GBA version has a good translation apparently.

FFV is the one where the GBA sound quality is actually better, though.

I read E3 impressions that even though it looks janky, it plays well. I don't think any of the people saying this were beat em up enthusiasts though, so we'll see.

As you can imagine, that doesn't exactly work out. What an idiot.

you forgot to mention that after he finally goes to Ninevah, he gets pissed that they repent because that means God won't destroy them!
