This game fairly explicitly calls out the attitude that you must do everything that a game has to offer, so for it to incentivise all the different things you can do would be antithetical

This is only on my New 3DS. I played a lot of stuff on my brother's 3DS before getting this, including over 350 hours between Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, 4 Ultimate, and Generations, probably 75 hours on Theatrhythm, and a few other things around 50 hours each (Bravely Default, Fire Emblem, etc)

yeah, this seems like what 2d sonic fans would want. it's slavishly faithful to the original, in mostly a good way.

from the videos I've watched it looks to have significantly better level design than any of those games did. Lots of fun little setpieces that aren't just "hold right and you'll hit some bumpers and go fast" and I don't remember seeing any gotcha moments to make you lose your rings

the music is also changed, PS2 US version used an orchestra recording, US 3DS doesn't. Whether that's better or worse is up to debate though, because the orchestrated soundtrack cuts out parts of many songs

They are. 1 and 2 are pretty much identical to the SFC/GBC versions but with new graphics (and for English, a new translation)

3 is heavily based on the SFC version but doesn't have pachisi boards for some reason, and it doesn't have the monster medals and ice cave from the GBC version
