If you use the invincibility items, it's a cakewalk. But if you raise enemy levels to 100 and don't break the game by spam drawing spells, it's hard as fuck.

That. My first playthrough I finished using an Xplorer cartridge, I don't know if I could have done it aged twelve (my age when VIII first came out) without that! It's far harder to figure out when you don't have unlimited spells to use *and* keep junctioned.

I did manage to beat the final boss without it, eventually (and not when I was twelve, because I was still very new to RPGs then), but it took me quite a while.

But even if Cacciato has image searched the rest of us, hes never outed us, AFAIK. Ive only seen it done to 54 and zebatov...

I think I missed how this even started? I must have quite a few participants on ignore already, I'm guessing.

I don't really care if anybody "outs" me. I'm a political activist, I've been interviewed for stuff that's online via YouTube and various news websites including New Statesman, so my face and name and username are already pretty well linked on the internet.

I gave up on that one years ago, when my sister obliquely outed my legal surname on LiveJournal by using her full name on her profile then mentioning in public comments that she was my sister. After that, there wasn't much point in trying to keep that stuff under wraps. It isn't as if I'm in the US and likely to get fired or harassed for being queer or non-Christian, or anything of that sort.

It's extremely dangerous, not just because it can kill, but because survivors can suffer severe permanent damage (this includes previously healthy young people who now cannot breathe without machine assistance, btw), and that isn't being properly emphasized when talking about the damage that it does.

Which is why I'm so afraid of potentially catching it (or of my friends and family who are anywhere near as sick as I am catching it, which is a few).

I'm already so disabled & chronically ill that I can't work, am on more morphine than the average palliative-care patient, have dozens of joint dislocations every day thanks to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, I've got half a dozen different physical impairments and another half dozen mental health conditions on top of that, and I'm a full-time powerchair user, at least beyond my front door (indoors I live in one big open-plan room plus bathroom, and try to stick to my canes). The way my life is right now, it's all a balancing act. I get on okay enough.

If I caught the nasty strain of this virus, and it came to the point where I needed to be intubated and put on a ventilator, if my local frailty scale even allowed medical staff to try that? I'd be lucky to survive, and if it did the damage it's done to other people to me in my current condition, I'm truly not certain whether I would want to.

Right now though, I do want to live. And I want to keep it that way. So I'm shielding as hard as I can, and will do so for as long as I must. (And if that means missing UK DWcon in August, then damn it, that's just a hit I may have to take, if it's go or live.)

But you can't blame people like me for being at least a little bit scared. Or for being a LOT careful.

Time to repeat what I said to you before that you totally ignored, if you can even see it, but it is appropriate to this "argument" of yours:

As for the "dictionary definition" pedantry, have you never heard of evolution of language? How do you think dictionaries even happened? Im guessing youre still young? I mean no offense.

I dont think theres a single alcoholic drink I like the first drink. Bu the second drink though you dont taste anything anyway.

Ha! I'm 34, multiple mental health conditions and I still don't particularly care for alcoholic drinks, for the most part. It has little to do with age and more to do with specific experience.

My late father was an abusive alcoholic, and his alcoholism contributed to his death. I'm not daft enough to follow in his dangerous drinking patterns, especially the one of using alcohol to numb other kinds of pain. (And he had been an alcoholic from the age of 11, for that.) Never a good idea, unless you're trying to survive in the wilderness or something.

A little more on topic, I remember Dad used to put Scotch whisky on my dummy (pacifier, in AmEng) when I was small and wouldn't sleep. I believe my first actual drink was Polish cherry liqueur, from his best friend, when I was about ten. I liked that well enough, but not enough to care about most kinds of booze.

I rarely drink any kinds at all, other than a glass of white wine at New Year's, and a vodka and orange to help with stage fright when I'm about to perform solo in public. Even then, if I drink anything more than a sip or two within 6 hours of going to bed, I wake up every hour or so. It's not worth it. Especially when most of the time, I'm on meds that don't agree with alcohol...

Right now, I have a small bottle of Chambord black raspberry liqueur and a bottle of vodka in my home. (Oh, and a couple of sample-size wine bottles deep in the storage cupboard, that I got for celebrations and never opened.) The vodka I mainly got for use in making my own hand sanitiser (when I can get hold of enough aloe vera!) and aromatherapy blending. (Yes, I also have pineapple juice and a tiny sample-size bottle of Croc to mix in if I ever fancy a French martini - but that's all. No more.)

In the house, flipflops. If I'm walking the dog, my floral wellies. If I'm just out in my chair, or going to a gig, usually black ankle boots, unless it's really hot, then maybe outdoor flipflops or the platform sandals I got in Toronto over a decade ago. For Pride I wear my rainbow-holographic kitten heels. I have some knee-high black boots someplace, but they need mending, they're leaking at the toes.

I don't really have very many pairs of shoes, because I don't walk a whole lot outside my home now I use a wheelchair most of the time, and I was never comfy in heels much above an inch before that.

I once had a beautiful pair of Prada Criollo boots, brown suede, found via a fellow Whovian in an outlet store somewhere in Australia. They're an exact replica of the pair Alex Kingston wore to play River Song during the Doctor Who episodes set in Utah; I got them for cosplay. Sadly, I no longer have them, because one of the movers stole them during my last move and since I wasn't the one who organised their employment, I couldn't get hold of them to find out who swiped them and demand them back. I've never managed to replace those. *sigh* I don't very often own designer clothing or footwear, but I loved those boots.

Nothing in there about the rest of us until you brought it up. But I'm not gonna argue about it, just thought it was odd that you were trying to disregard his feelings while acting insulted that he didn't consider yours first.
Not disregarding. It's just that he associated it so closely with his age, as if being single at his age is something bad or to be feared or freaked out about. There's nothing wrong with being single in your 30s. Or ever, frankly. And I knee-jerk at the implication there is because so many people pressure people perceived as female against being single at my/our age.

OP, whether you become an incel in the sociological sense or not is up to you - but you're more likely to stay single if you do. If you just happen to be simply involuntarily celibate for a while, everybody goes through that. Why does being single distress you so much? Is it peer pressure? Do you feel you should be passing the kind of milestones other people your age and older have done already? What have you done with your life so far? Do you want to marry and/or have children?

That's one reason I love fanfiction more than that series - the fandom has surpassed the original canon in this case, hugely so, and fans listen to other fans when they point out their blind spots, which Rowling generally doesn't.

Bulbasaur, well, take a look and make up your own mind. But no, not a fat dude. https://www.instagram.com/p/v1wvXmuVKX/

Is "the Black Plague" what American schools tend to call the Black Death, then? I've never ever heard it called that before.

For the record... my high school nickname from the guys at computer club was Tifa. *clears throat*

Of course. My grandad was ten in 1918, he told me about it when I was a kid (he died about 25 years ago). It really wasn't that long ago in real terms; there are still people alive who remember it, albeit very few now.

What, the whole thing? I've had to take a few people off it to make room for others over time, usually I screencap my list before I do that then remove any account that hasn't logged in for a year or two. So, yeah, this wouldn't be my *original* list. I do tend to ignore the kind of people whose posts leave me fuming as it's just better for my blood pressure that way! 286 people at present, sorry for the length in text but I can never remember how to upload pics specifically for a post here.
