Guy who won't let us see his tax returns is using taxpayer money like it's his personal checking account and he's handing gifts to the public from his own pocket.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/rachelsandler/2020/04/14/stimulus-checks-may-be-delayed-because-trump-wants-his-name-printed-on-them-report-says/

Doesn't apply to direct deposit.

From what I read the checks are not delayed; for sure nothing has been announced and officials are saying they're on schedule. Furthermore the stimulus was written and approved by Congress, Trump taking credit does not mean he's got access to taxpayer money to spend and give out as he pleases.

It's speculation, not news. But if the agenda fits...

And the real fake news is TC's hysteria that Trump can access tax money like an ATM. Bet the guy still cashes the check though!

Trump's name should not be on any of those checks unless they're coming directly from his bank account.

It's also funny how Trump humpers will be quick to scream "don't cash that check if he's not your president" but will also scream at the first mention of the word "socialism" despite their intention to cash said check and the fact that they probably benefit from one or more "socialist" programs.

Do y'all have that much of a problem with the source? Good grief...look up the news for yourself then!

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trumps-name-to-appear-on-coronavirus-stimulus-checks-sent-to-americans-report

Or are you debating the part about the delay? From Fox News' reporting:
One official told Fox News that the checks "are scheduled to go out on time and exactly as plannedthere is absolutely no delay whatsoever. In fact, we expect the first checks to be in the mail early next week which is well in advance of when the first checks went out in 2008 and well in advance of initial estimates."

Which is actually a direct quote taken from the original Washington Post report (lol), where multiple IRS officials dispute whether there will be a delay: https://wapo.st/3b9ZdWA

The decision to have the paper checks bear Trumps name, in the works for weeks, according to a Treasury official, was announced early Tuesday to the IRSs information technology team. The team, working from home, is now racing to implement a programming change that two senior IRS officials said will probably lead to a delay in issuing the first batch of paper checks. They are scheduled to be sent Thursday to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service for printing and issuing.
Computer code must be changed to include the presidents name, and the system must be tested, these officials said. Any last-minute request like this will create a downstream snarl that will result in a delay, said Chad Hooper, a quality-control manager who serves as national president of the IRSs Professional Managers Association.
A Treasury Department spokeswoman, however, denied any delay and said the plan all along was to issue the checks next week.
Economic Impact Payment checks are scheduled to go out on time and exactly as planned there is absolutely no delay whatsoever, the spokeswoman said in a written statement. She said this was a faster process than the stimulus checks the George W. Bush administration issued in 2008 to head off a looming recession.
In fact, we expect the first checks to be in the mail early next week which is well in advance of when the first checks went out in 2008 and well in advance of initial estimates, the statement said.

So, which parts are fake? Both articles rely on testimony from unnamed spokespeople...well actually, WaPo names some of the people they interviewed. It will be determined to what extent people experience a delay in receiving their checks.

Does anyone really care if his name is there or not? Why make a big deal over this.

If it can potentially affects the timeliness of someone's check, it is relevant news and not clickbait. I looked up Fox News because multiple people in here just reacted to Forbes and dropped "fake news" without clarifying exactly what is fake. I don't even understand your determination of what's clickbait, frankly.

Mhm. I'd also add that the checks were already on a different delivery schedule than direct deposits (which makes total sense logistically).

The IRS plan would distribute paper checks to the lowest-income Americans first, prioritizing payments for individual taxpayers with incomes of $10,000 or less on April 24.
Checks for earners of $20,000 or less would be in the mail May 1, followed by those with incomes of $30,000 on May 8, $40,000 on May 15, and continuing in income increments of $10,000 each week, according to the plan. The IRS plans to issue about 5 million checks each week.
Stimulus checks would be issued on Sept. 4 to joint taxpayers earning $198,000, the maximum allowed under the stimulus. All others would be sent on Sept. 11, in most cases because the IRS did not have prior tax information for them and they need to apply for the checks.

I didn't ask how much you care about it. I asked if you consider it to be reasonable, sensible behaviour and not a blatant example of narcissistically using this crisis to make himself look better in an election year. This is a simple yes or no question, though elaborating on your opinion will always be welcome.
