No one's threatened, it just takes a lot more effort (and may be entirely unsuitable in certain situations) to watch a video than to quickly read a few words of text.

It's the same reason why a lot of people wish video tutorials would fuck the hell off and text-based ones would make a comeback.

We could argue either way whats easier than watching a video for a couple seconds and answering your own questions then writing a whole post and waiting for a reply.

But there definitely is a large amount of people who continue to act like TikTok is this terrible thing they refuse to associate with.

Nintendo is a video game icon and If you didnt grow up in their prime your childhood was garbage.

Yet somewhere they stopped actually being a great company and settled for pushing out mediocre titles on gimmicky hardware. This is pointing out simply how Wii Sports is something ONLY Nintendo could have somehow made a phenomenon . At best its decent but forgettable fun and basically free mini games that came with the most popular console of all time. You would put on bowling for 20 minutes and get bored and never touch it again for months. Be real now.

Wii sports fills a much needed gap of in person cooperative games that anyone can enjoy. But it is by no means a good game by itself.

And on literally any other platform no one would have actually gave a shit and people would see it for what it is. Pretty basic and low effort.

This is a completely baffling take to me, well since JPRGs for decades have been filled to the brim with the cringiest, ham fisted dialogue ever and extremely tropey characters. And thats just accepted.

The second video in particular is important with how much games have progressed in having consistent, cohesive storytelling, world building and characters inside of cutscenes and during gameplay. Merging the elements that make video games unique and elevating them to a new level.

I think the dialogue in particular in this game is refreshing. Not because it seems super deep. But the fact that the MC seems to be an ordinary person reacting very realistically to being a fish out out of water in a fantasy land. And not like a typical over the top, completely unrealistic JRPG character.

Saying this dialogue is cringe seems like the most short sighted criticism Ive seen. And youre not the first, so I really need someone to explain it to me I guess. Hence this random rant out of seemingly nowhere.
