The second a video game elevates itself by telling a decent story and having proper characters gamers become old men yelling at clouds. Im old enough to remember a time when it was pretty good for a game to maybe have a single text box at the beginning explaining some complete bullshit and nonsense while your 3 pixel avatar size scrolled his way through a couple levels. We got one game a year if we were lucky and thats the best they can do. Now we have absolutely amazing experience and gamers dismiss them with shit like $60 for a 12 hour interactive movie? This is horseshit idk man. Some people cant see how good we have it. --- |

So as a player you can earn money doing various things like mining, hauling, bounty hunting, or doing the missions. But as far as I know theres no real way to transfer money or pay a crew. So if youre doing things with friends or strangers its more just for funsies spudger posted... Is there a demo we can play? The game is currently in Alpha. So if you buy the game and just get a starter ship package (50 -60 bucks something like that) you get immediate access into the alpha. Its akin to something like Minecraft or something where people have already got into it and are playing the game as it continues to expand and get bigger. --- |

Pretty crazy honestly. Last nights experiences have cemented this game is actually something special and no amount of internet snark will take that away. I randomly joined up with this guy who owned an 890 jump which if youre not familiar with the game is a MASSIVE luxury yacht of a ship. Its literally like flying a Call of Duty level through space. Standing in the foyer which has this grand staircase that takes you to the various decks and the roof is a solid piece of glass. Watching this behemoth of a ship take off from ArcCorp which is like Coruscant from Star Wars, a city that encompasses an entire planet. Seeing all of that as the ship takes off vertically from the planet and watch as that planet gets smaller and smaller...its amazing the coolest part of this ship is it literally has its own hanger. You can land smaller ships on the deck and the elevator sinks down into the belly to store it away. So there we were flying around space in this luxury yacht, going to all this different planets and space stations, some of which arent equipped to land a ship of that size. Which was fine. We had a ship parked in the hanger which functioned as a shuttle to and from the 890. It would go and pick people up and bring them right to the ship. Pretty fuckin cool for a game still in development --- |
