Also if you want to know how Nier started then play Drakengard 1 and 3. Drakengard 3 is a prequel to 1 and while it doesn't directly influence the events it gives you a bigger back story of how it all started. You can leave Drakengard 2 out since its a separate timeline. If you want to go through EVERYTHING in the Drakengard/Nier universe, then read the mangas, novellas and short stories including some CD dramas I think. The timeline is: Drakengard 3 > Drakengard > Nier > Nier Automata Drakengard 2 does not fit into the timeline because of various story plot holes and continuity issues. Shit like "infidel meat" is so cringey, she's seen sniffing Bacon like she wants it when me personally have never seen anyone do those things.
