I know why it wont be compatible. Muslims who live with culture that has literally grown with Islam embedded into it will not accept any changes like that. Firstly because its against the scripture and hadiths. Secondly, its seen as a sin, plain and simple. You cant change a fundamental point in a religion when it goes against so many teachings. Most Muslims disagree with homosexuals, but in the west they really couldn't give less of a crap about what they do.
