I also 100 gem'd Minfilia's Ultra ^5 SephGoku

I'm actually really happy to get this-- this should be a suitable sub for Rikku's Hyper Mighty G until I get it. In fact I kinda like Minfilia so I might just use her as my main support and stop chasing Hyper Mighty G-- hope to get Rikku's +50% Atk Water Chain thing instead.

I'm just under 601 so for me it makes more sense to go for the 601 breakpoint at the cost of 2 mythril and 2 of all the major orbs because 200 dungeons worth of upgraded rewards should outweigh the last breakpoint

I've been holding off on dungeons since I've came back to the game because I heard that was happening. Only at 166 max stamina right now.

If you really want to powergame you can do the dungeons but intentionally avoid mastering, then go back and master when the rewards are upgraded but I'm still not really sure that's worth it considering you could use that extra stamina spent on mastering the dungeon updates to run dailies instead.

In Exvius my grinding tends to go

"Queue up commands"
Repeat
Repeat
Repeat
"Queue up boss commands"
Repeat till boss is dead

Which is somewhat more than 0 attention. The whole gimmick of bonus units kinda hurts the ability to cruise control pretty significantly on a lot of the grindathons. Would probably hate them less if bonus units didn't exist-- or maybe if my strongest units were a bit stronger so I could standard repeat through the boss.

Also helps that command cards are so big in FGO that you kinda can do it without really looking at the screen compared to repeat which is a fairly small icon in comparison meaning you can't let your tapping drift.

I dunno I think they're about equal. They both drain a fraction of my attention. One is literally mindless tapping at a specific spot and one is slightly mindful tapping pretty much anywhere on the phone screen that I get some minor satisfaction out of beating more efficiently from time to time but in terms of actual tapping concentration required over time they're similar to me, but FGO requires less of it overall and has better rewards for it imo.

But both games do more than you should either way. I'm just saying I do think that tapping repeat is a bit more of a chore than it appears at a glance. Like you can mash repeat for like 15 minutes at a time with all the battle animations, loading screens, etc. I definitely noticed less of a burden when I just stopped doing em. That and Exvius is full of nickel and time attention drains that really add up over the course of a day if you do them all between expeditions, raids, arena, and standard stamina whereas FGO mercifully just has stamina to spend.

Yeah that might be part of why I don't mind them as much either. It's pretty much impossible to clean out the shop in Exvius. In FGO aside from the Christmas event there basically has been a pretty clear end goal on the grinding-- particularly when you only go for the non junk items in the shop, which probably take less effort than just getting the tickets/moogle/3 heavicrysts (what I'd usually aim for) in terms of reps.

Getting flooded with full stamina refills might help too since you can more easily just cram a bunch of the grind into a smaller window.

I still think just liking the combat more helps me the most though. It takes a bit more effort than putting in a sequence of commands, mashing repeat, maybe putting in a different sequence for the boss. But it also feels less grindy than doing that.

Yeah I think this game is much worse in these regards was my main point of the tangent, but even so I definitely see why these are turnoffs-- FGO has more grindy events than I'd like too. Record Keeper is the only mobile game I've played that doesn't suffer from this, really. I'm sure there are others out there but it is a rarity for these things to not have these problems.

FGO's gameplay is underrated. I definitely think there's significantly more depth to FGO's gameplay than Brave Exvius's, generally. More moves doesn't really mean there's more strategy it just means you end up doing certain cycles of actions over and over. Lack of randomness or ability to heavily direct the randomness means you can basically map out what battles are going to do before you do them. Most of the gameplay in Exvius is in the planning step and then the battles are just doing the move cycles ad nauseam until the boss is dead.

FGO you actually have to adapt what you're doing in the fight based on what cards you draw who the enemies attack etc. Definitely more satisfying to play for me. That and the difficulty balance is a lot better vs this game which is zzzzzz for everything but the uber battles.

(Sorry I'm not meaning to tear this game down excessively by going on a tirade but I saw Grand Order called "simple"-- which I mean it kinda is but I don't think this game is particularly more complex during actual fights-- just more skill reading to do up front)

Eric Bischoff at least has energy. It's very rare for Cole to show any sort of energy or enthusiasm. Which, again, is probably because he takes a bunch of notes and then just regurgitates all of the notes in the best place he can find an opportunity to in a show. Like I'd be very surprised if I was wrong on that being his announcing method.

I'd take Michael Cole over drunk Eric Bischoff I guess. But no announcer who has regularly announced for more than like 5 years is worse than Michael Cole-- and that guy's been going as a main announcing fixture for 15+.

And I'd take pretty much all of those over Cole btw. Impact is the only one I don't know well enough to be sure-- I mean I guess I'd take Cole over heel Josh Matthews (is he even still doing that) but I'd probably take heel Josh Matthews over heel Michael Cole.

I still think the voice in the ear thing is a convenient scapegoat more than anything. Cole has been this way since his debut and most of the other announcers aside from late career JBL have been much less so than him. Unless you're going to say he's literally always had the voice in his ear even when Jim Ross was the main PBP and no one else has the voice in their ear.

Like to me Cole comes off as a guy who takes notes before he goes out, and is sure to hit all those bullet points regardless of whether anything in the match leads to it. He's a flowchart announcer and whether the flowchart is relevant to what's going on is partially whether the product is conducive to interesting notes since his ability to QC is poor, partially who's in the ring, and partially luck.

Voice in the ear makes things worse but it isn't really the cause per se.

Brave Exvius's fundamental formula is broken and it's never going to be fixed. More goodies are only treating the symptom and not the cause.

It's good as a grindy time killer but once you have games that are actually fun on the gameplay level beyond the satisfaction of party building you won't come back.

Cole's a guy who has good theory on what good announcing is but completely botches it on execution most of the time. I mean you can see him working the experience and talent of the workers into his normal PBP but he often ends up doing it in a way that it basically comes off as irrelevant factoids more than something that's relevant to how the match is going.

I mean you can blame that on someone being in his ear all you want, and I'm sure that's part of it, but I think a big part of it is you just not being as familiar with the workers in the UK Tournament so you don't see it as obviously irrelevant as you do with the workers you're more familiar with. It's also possible Cole was helped in the UK Tournament by things like Twitter and such not being thought of as as relevant there-- which again I don't think is all on the voice in his ear and is partially on the product throwing so much content out there and Cole not really having any instinctive idea of which of that content is interesting to the viewer.

I think Coach actually brings relevant stuff up a lot more often-- it's much more glaring now because there's so much more garbage that Cole has to filter than there was back when Coach was a regular announcer. Granted this may not hold as he's got a one show sample size to work with on his return and he may fall off a cliff but he was so much better than Cole in that one show.

Alright brief breakdown and why I chose those:

You should watch the whole show:
King of the Ring 1993 - This is TEW "Perfect Show Theory" in PPV form. Maybe my favorite WWF PPV of all time in spite of not having any of my favorite matches of all time-- does have a few very good matches though. Probably Macho Man's best work as a Color Commentator too.
Wrestlemania X - Two legendary matches and honestly most of the PPV is pretty good I think.
Wrestlemania XII - Shawn vs Bret Iron Man Match is fun. I actually picked this largely for "seeing people at different ages than she's used to" factor though. May want to look at the card first.
Survivor Series 1996 - Mostly picked this for one match (Austin vs Bret) but IIRC it's pretty enjoyable front to back.
Wrestlemania X-7 - Just an awesome show. Tons of great matches on this one.
King of the Ring 2001, Summerslam 2001, Unforgiven 2001, Vengeance 2001 - WWE was on with PPVs in 2001. Hell No Mercy 2001 and Survivor Series 2001 are good too. If I were to recommend any year to watch front to back for WWF PPVs it'd be 2001. Watch Vengeance if you can only watch one of these for HISTORY.
Royal Rumble 2002 - Great rumble and title match between Jericho & Rock.

Can watch a single match if pressed for time:
Royal Rumble 1992 - Great Rumble. Opener is solid too but you really don't want to watch the stuff between the opener and the Rumble.
Royal Rumble 1995 - Bret Hart vs Diesel is probably my favorite "size mismatch match" of all time and the main reason I recommended it. But honestly with the exception of Undertaker vs IRS which speaks for itself, the undercard is solid all around and while I'm not a fan of the Rumble a lot of people like it.
WWF In Your House 7: Good Friends, Better Enemies - Shawn Michaels vs Diesel is also a really good size mismatch match. Vader vs Razor is fun too.
Wrestlemania XIII - Bret vs Austin is one of the best matches ever. Better if you watch Survivor Series 96 and optionally the 1997 Royal Rumble & WWF In Your House Final Four's ME first, which are all good matches.
Royal Rumble 2003 - Probably my favorite Kurt vs Benoit match is on this one. Solid Rumble too

Random good PPVs off the top of my head from WWF within your date range. Sorry I can't recommend many Attitude Era PPVs they're not really very good (me disliking Triple H a lot probably hurts my enjoyment of a lot of em so I'm not the best judge) and it's almost better to find the Raws with the memorable moments and recommend those but the hell if I can remember the ones with moments by episode number or date.

Turned out that list actually got pretty long so I'll explain briefly why I chose each one in a bit if you want
