Today's Character
We've done a lot of superheroes and supervillains from comic books, but I don't think we've done a comic book love interest yet! This seems like as good of a time as any, with the release of "The Amazing Spider-Man." Gwen Stacy is Peter Parker's original love interest, and her death is often considered one of the most influential moments in comic book history. She's also the leading lady in the aforementioned Spidey movie.

(But still, Tali is probably a borderline Top 25 character at best, more likely in the 30-40 range, especially given how pathetic this year's field is, which is pretty good)

Bittersweet endings are the best. Ambiguous endings are (with rare exceptions) the worst. When I play a game/read a book/watch a movie, I want clear resolution unless it's known there's going to be a sequel beforehand.

FFVI spoilers

I know this has been touched on already, but Kefka absolutely did not win. He clearly stated (before the final boss fight, in fact) that he wanted to destroy people's dreams and their hope, and he could NEVER do it, no matter how many towns he vaporized with the Light of Judgment. And that's what FFVI is all about. Even when things are awful, don't give up hope.

Was the last contest really in 2011? It feels like it's been way too long.
That tells you how forgettable the Rivalry Rumble was. It still bugs me that Bacon was all "adding fictional characters who wants to see Jane Eyre in this thing" as if a site that's 95%+ male would ever nominate Jane Eyre into this contest, but for some reason, he thinks a contest featuring Ike/Black Knight vs. Conker/Great Mighty Poo was a good idea.

Shocker, Menji dislikes a great character. His favorite Futurama character is probably Cubert or Leela. Either that or he's blatantly trolling, which I am increasingly leaning toward, not just because it's Bender but because he seems to make a habit of either disliking the fan favorite or saying the most annoying main character is the best in just about anything.

But that's fine. Bender will go make his own "Do you like this character?" With blackjack and hookers! In fact, forget "Do you like this character?"
