Josiah_Is_Back 08/06/21 1:36:22 PM #10 | The problem I have with modern bodybuilding is that it seems to have strayed from the aesthetic roots of the sport. Even someone as massive as Schwarzenegger in his prime was beautifully proportioned. The current zeitgeist seems to just be size. I'm not a fan. |

I ordered the Belly Buster Breakfast Burrito, and I was told by the waitress she had only seen one person complete it, and he was a competitive eater. The pic doesn't do it justice. Topic | ITT: Lines that do the opposite of aging a movie |
Josiah_Is_Back 08/01/21 1:08:02 AM #1 | I.e., they make the movie even more current. Best example I can think of: In the original Jurassic Park, Jeff Goldblum's line about if the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down at Disney, at least the pirates don't eat the tourists. Years later, we get the POTC film franchise, and I bet if younger kids were to watch JP now, they wouldn't think twice about POTC being mentioned. |

Josiah_Is_Back 07/29/21 12:57:41 PM #21 | MorbidFaithless posted... Why? If you don't have to use the correct who what when where? Because it's faster to say? "Izzit" Because the "who" or "what" response is the question that would prompt the clue that's read. "Is it" is clunky. For instance: "What is a natatorium?" "An indoor swimming pool." Jeopardy just reverses the exchange. Compared to... "Is it a natatorium?" "Hm, what? Is what a natatorium?" It makes the conversation clunky. |

Topic | Worst physical pain of your life |
Josiah_Is_Back 07/27/21 8:37:31 PM #176 | Shattered my third lumbar vertebra after falling 15 feet out of a tree in 2007, at the age of 19. Landed in such a way that the force of the impact concentrated right on L3; crushed it and shattered it, in what's technically called a comminuted fracture. That wasn't the worst part, though. That distinction goes to the few moments in the hospital when I was laying on the table to get my x-ray. I was wearing shorts and they needed to come off, so they had to arch my back up enough to slide the shorts down. The fall was bad, but the x-ray incident was just... I couldn't even gasp. I just stared off into space, amazed that the human body could endure such pain without passing out. I've always had a high pain tolerance so that injury raised the bar even higher for me. Charley horses, sprains, nothing really bothers me too much anymore. Things I have not experienced that sound painful, based on what I've heard:
