Because she never experienced the wrath of Sidious firsthand so she didn't know what to fear.

Spoilers!

Since now we know that Rey is of Palpatine's bloodline, it makes me re-think Luke's line in TLJ: "I've seen this raw strength only once before. It didn't scare me enough then. It does now."

At first we figured he was talking about Kylo, but in hindsight he was probably talking about the Emperor.

Yoda warned Luke not to underestimate the Emperor, but he still did, and he paid for it. Luke couldn't do a goddamn thing to Sidious in ROTJ. "I've seen this raw strength only once before..." seems pretty relevant now, eh?

When in the history of fuck has ANY villain ever died from being thrown down a shaft?

I mean, you fellas can see how thats nowhere near as "definitive" as being goddamn disintegrated, right?

He fell down a shaft, causing a minor reactor explosion in the process, and subsequently the entire Death Star was blown to smithereens.

Is that not disintegration?

Darth Sidious is back and we're only given ambiguous proposals as to how he's back. Dark Sith magic, cloning, etc. But no discernible reason; in fact his line from Episode III ("The Dark Side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural") feels like it was included not so much as an homage but as a way to get critically-minded fans to just accept his return.

Fine. He's back. Now that Rey has killed him, how do we know he can't just come back again?

I mean, if the "Sith magic" that was used to resurrect him is only a one-off deal and can never be done again, that was never explicitly stated in the film.

So there's no reason to assume he's actually definitively dead.

Problem.

He is the only character to be portrayed by the same actor (Anthony Daniels) and appear in all nine of the core Star Wars films.
R2-D2 is the only other character to be in all nine films, but his original actor (Kenny Baker) died in 2016; Jimmy Vee subsequently took on the role.

The Rushmore should be Hogan, Stone Cold, Undertaker, and Cena.

Hogan is the biggest draw from the Golden Age, SC from the Attitude Era, and Cena from the present. Taker would be there for being the main face of Wrestlemania along with one of the bigger draws between multiple eras.

WWE actually conducted a survey similar to mine back in 2012 I believe, fans voted exactly as you said. Undertaker, Austin, Cena and Hogan (in that order).

This is peculiar.

In the first topic, in which CEmen voted for who LEAST belonged on the Mt. Rushmore of WWE, Undertaker received the fewest votes, implying he was regarded as the most legit contender.

This time, he's receiving the fewest votes for who MOST belongs.

All bloodborn Skywalkers are now dead and Palpatine's legacy lives on with Rey...regardless of her adopting the Skywalker name.

Also Luke's legacy is forever tarnished and him/Vader defeating the Emperor means nothing since he came back.

Sequel trilogy effectively shit all over the OT.

The entire point of TROS was that your legacy or destiny is not determined by your bloodline. Hence Rey being a Palpatine did not condemn her to the Dark Side; she killed the Emperor and adopted the Skywalker name, symbolically spurning her bloodline forever.

And Vader still brought balance to the Force in Return of the Jedi. You can even hear Hayden Christensen's voice speaking to Rey at the end and he says "Bring back the balance, Rey; as I did."

Not trying to defend TROS. There are plenty of reasons to dislike it, but I think your antipathy is misplaced.

My reasoning for it was weak. I said it had symmetry, with Kylo Ren being born from the light side, yet yearning for the dark. Rey would be the opposite, born the from dark side, yet yearning for the light.

Well, you're not necessarily wrong. The Emperor described them as a dyad in the Force.

Wikipedia says

it is so large that the observable universe is far too small to contain an ordinary digital representation of Graham's number, assuming that each digit occupies one Planck volume, possibly the smallest measurable space. But even the number of digits in this digital representation of Graham's number would itself be a number so large that its digital representation cannot be represented in the observable universe. Nor even can the number of digits of that numberand so forth, for a number of times far exceeding the total number of Planck volumes in the observable universe.

WTF

I was perusing a mathematics message board and some users were attempting to explain how unimaginably monstrous Graham's number really is. One of them posted something like this:

Take all of the Planck volumes in our observable universe and turn each of them into an identical universe. Then take all of the Planck volumes in all those universes and turn them into identical universes, as well. Repeat this a googolplex times and you're still not even close to Graham's number.

Because if that's true it's amazing.

Graham's number is my favorite colossal number about which I have read. Once you understand how the up-arrow notation works, and how rapidly the numbers increase from 33 to 33 to 33 ... you are absolutely floored when you are told that the answer to 33 is now the number of arrows in the next iteration.

Seriously. My God.

It's interesting how far someone can go for the simple love of that thing. There may be no tangible reward for doing such a thing, or lasting impact on society, but he is driven just because he loves doing it.

I was sitting at a red light and had an odd moment of contemplation where I pondered how I would feel if I got in a car crash at that moment and suffered a mortal injury; how I would feel as I slowly died, the safe and certain and taken-for-granted existence I enjoyed a minute prior suddenly thrust forward to the realist of all moments: when we come to terms with our demise.

We may say "I accept death." We may even believe ourselves when we say that. But until we are accosted by that finality, we aren't ever really ready for it or accepting of it. We all, in that terminal moment, will suddenly have the most profound clarity we've ever had. All our dreams and aspirations, regrets, failings, successes and missed opportunities; at love, life, health, and everything else we value.

So... memento mori, I guess? Or carpe diem...

It's possible that after posting that message on Facebook she was contacted by some of her friends who then suggested plans that she found acceptable. In that circumstance, her telling you "it's tricky" may not necessarily be a rejection; but rather an acknowledgement of the fact that she has plans with some of her friends now and she's not necessarily opposed to hanging out with you at some point, but it depends on how things go.

I wouldn't press too hard; if it happens, it happen. If she wants it, she'll contact you. But maybe a week or so after New Year's if you don't hear from her you can always send her a message just asking her how her New Year's went, and if she'd like to hang out at some point. That'll give you a clearer indication at that point on where her intentions lie.
