I'm playing on Series X and it seems fine. It's not 60, but it's at least pretty consistent.

Fun game. Being an archer is kinda boring, but I'm determined to stick it out to see what the later skills look like. There's also a bunch of weird design choices, especially with the voice direction, but it would be a lot less charming if it was more competent.

I swear to fuck though, if my pawns talk about ladders one more time...

Man, I keep hearing you guys complain about minigames I haven't got to yet and dreading them and then I get to them and they're all just fine. The chicken clanging one is probably one of the funniest ones yet and the gliding Chocobo one is fun. Even the Moogle herding one, which is probably the worst one, is at least easy.

I struggled with some of the hard Fort Condor maps until I realised you just need to wait a little at the beginning to start dispatching units, so that you're fighting them in your half of the map. Also, most of the time, your condors can defend themselves fine, so just focus on one lane and maybe spawn a unit or two to distract them if necessary. I think I did most of them with the offensive-focused team.

OK, I know it was kind of predictable but Cloud completely shrugging off Yuffie's ridiculous self-introduction with a deadpan "cool" before walking away was fucking hilarious and the best line read in the game so far
This was great, their brother-sister dynamic is hilarious. But the best line read for me so far (chapter 7 spoilers) is when you're climbing Mt. Corel and Aerith is getting light-headed and Red is telling her she's becoming one with the planet and Cloud is just like "The hell are you doin', Red?"

It just reminded me of Ronan getting so confused at the end of Guardian's of the Galaxy that he completely drops character for one line.

I guess what I mostly don't get is why sometimes a card won't open a new space next to it, and sometimes it will.
Each card has a grid on it with coloured squares which indicate which squares it will affect. The white square is where you place it, the yellowish squares are which squares will convert to your (green) pins where possible in relation to where you place it (the white square). There are also red squares which indicate the card has a special ability (normally buffing or debuffing cards in those spaces).

Not at all surprised, as they've been circling the drain for a while now. What was surprising though was finding out that they haven't been profitable for the last decade. Like, I knew they must be bleeding money, but I didn't realise they had been doing it for that long.

Funhaus was the only RT thing I still watched, which, while it wasn't as good as it used to be, was still pretty solid, so sad to see them go, at least.

I got a 55" LG C3 during the last Black Friday. I use it both for gaming and watching on-demand stuff. I don't really know how it compares to other OLED TVs, but I do know that an OLED screen is certainly pretty to look at. Lots of nice sharp edges and no pixel bleed. Unfortunately, it does mean that watching older stuff can look a little blurry, even in HD, although I guess that's more due to the size of the screen. It does have an AI upscaler to make low resolution video look a little better, but I didn't like how it looked. It also has a function that can increase the framerate of stuff, but again, mixed. When I was looking at reviews, I heard people complaining about the sound and recommended getting a soundbar, which I did, but honestly it's fine without it, unless you're an audiophile, I guess.

No one has an emotional investment in any of the gyms their first time through. The point is you set off in a random direction and just stumble upon things randomly and do them as you go. Which would work if they had scaled it properly, but instead you go from the Grass Gym's lvl 16-17 Pokemon to Mela's lvl 26-27 Pokemon who are right next door to each other with zero indication of where the next 'expected' thing you're supposed to do is.

Yeah, I liked how the gym challenge in Sw/Sh was this big event that happened once a year or so and that gym leaders had leagues (though, the fact we never saw anything from the minor league makes me think that was another thing that was unfinished).

And yeah, SV being open-world but not scaling based on the number of things you've done was dumb because the 'suggested' order was completely non-sensical and expected you to zig-zag across the map if you wanted to do them in order, which no one not using a guide did, so you'd find stuff you were supposed to do hours earlier and it'd be completely forgettable because you'd stomp through it.

I liked Sw/Sh but it wasn't great. I liked the cast and some of the Pokemon designs and music, but the story was whatever and they clearly didn't have time to finish all of it. The wild area was also poorly implemented and Gigantamaxing/Dynamaxing just wasn't as novel as Mega Evolutions. Raid battles were a good idea poorly implemented and the DLC was promising, had they built on it for the next game.

Still better than S/V though.
