And I didn't expect them to announce a Knuckles series! We're in uncharted territory here!

And Metal Sonic's neat, but he's hardly a major character. He's a cool thing to gush over at the end of the movie who gets wrecked by the power of teamwork and friendship.

I reckon Metal or Mecha will be in the second movie. They need a big bad for Sonic to go Super against once Knuckles changes sides.

Since the second movie is an amalgamation of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, I could see Knuckles' series covering an adaptation of the echidna stuff with Tikal from Adventure 1 with the third movie being an amalgamation of both Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Introduce Shadow and Amy, swap out Biolizard with Chaos.

I honestly can't see the hype lasting past the third movie, but then a Knuckles series was more than I was expecting, so who knows.

Nah, since I only had 5 hours, I was trying to focus on the story as much as possible. Chose Corpo and I liked the prologue, but it was over almost immediately. Played up until the bar when you do the braindance, but I lost interest mid-conversation and just switched it off.

Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind or it just isn't for me, but yeah, had a hard time getting invested in what the characters were saying or doing. Also, so many segments where it seemed like there was a lot going on, but it didn't want me to actually deviate from my set objectives to explore. I do appreciate them trying to make conversations more interesting by having characters walk around during them or have them during car rides, etc. My biggest complaint was probably how dark everything was indoors. So many lights everywhere, but I still had to squint to see who I was shooting at.

Also, I turned off nudity and it wouldn't let me edit my penis, so 0/10.

Do you think Nintendo is unhappy that GF releases a top 10 Switch bestseller just about once per year? There's gotta be zero chance that GameFreak isn't meeting Nintendo's arbitrary standards of quality. What would stop them from helping out?
Im sure Nintendo are thrilled. Again, Im just saying it would be nice if GF could make games with the same quality as most of the rest of Nintendo. I dont understand whats so controversial about that.

They dont budget for it because people will still buy it in spite of its shitty graphics.

All were saying is it would be nice if they took longer to make something better looking, which I dont think is asking a lot for the latest AAA entry in, again, the worlds highest grossing media franchise.

Oh yeah, Pokemon games will always sell like hotcakes regardless of their quality (although weirdly that doesn't apply as much to the side games, which do well, but don't come close in terms of sales) and as long as they keep selling, there's no incentive for them to change how they develop them. But it would still be nice if they did.

Budget is a measure of time * # of employees. Gamefreak has under 200 employees, and puts out a Pokemon game every other year. Compare that to something like Breath of the Wild, which had over 400 employees working on it for over 5 years (300 from the core team and 100 from Monolith), or Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which had 1000 employees working on it for 4 years, and you can see the difference budget makes. The reasoning I've heard for this is that The Pokemon Company forces them (does TPC own Gamefreak? Not sure about the relationship) to put out frequent Pokemon games in order to sell more merchandise, since the merchandise makes way more money than the games.
This is true, but it's worth nothing that GF have that few employees by choice. Something about wanting to remain a tight-knit studio. And as others have said, GF are part of the decision to put out a Pokemon game every year (ish), so it's either just a lot of unfound confidence to deliver a quality product despite lacking the manpower and technical skills or they know people will buy it anyway and until they don't, Nintendo and Creatures don't have a good reason to force them do it any other way.

If the core game is good in certainly happy for it, but it's still wild to me that one of the biggest media franchises in the world is given no budget and is made to work on 10 year old handheld game technology (word going around from diggers that some animations and models are still coated over from X/Y) for the console releases.
I think the issue isn't so much budget, moreso that Gamefreak just aren't that used to making console games. I think that's why so much was cut from SwSh, because they just ran out of time getting the game working. And although I won't defend Gamefreak's animations too much, there's nothing inherently wrong with reskinning models and resuing animations if there's no benefit to making new ones.

Daily Bugle, black suit, Scorpion and Mac Gargon Venom are all good bets for the next film (or the one after). I could see them introducing some more 'animal' characters like Black Cat and Rhino too before doing Kraven. Good excuse to bring back Vulture too.

As for Miles, I can see Phase 3 ending with some kind of minor multiverse collapse/merge as an excuse to bring in a bunch of chataracters like Deadpool (and his supporting cast, possibly the rest of the X-Men), Venom and Miles. Spider-Verse and Marvel's Spider-Man are both still fresh enough that we don't need to cover his origin story again, so we get to skip to him dealing with being Spider-Man in a world that already has a Spider-Man.

I liked it overall, but agree it was flawed. I especially hated the constant clips from the original films every time they made a reference across the entire movie, like we were too stupid to get them otherwise.

And yeah, the action was tepid and mostly just retread old ground, though I did like the horde mode suicide part in concept, though the execution was a bit iffy. I also don't really understand the explanation for using a different Morpheus either. I think he was supposed to be the character from the video game, but then they showed the 'footage' from the video games (which was just more clips from the original film) where Morepheus just looked like Morpheus.

I liked it overall, but I also felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities. Doc Ock says that Maguire is 'all grown up' so they're not pretending he's still as young as he was in the films, but they also don't really say anything about what he's done since the third film. Ditto for Garfield, other than that he's got a few anger problems now. Would have been nice to allude to some adventures we didn't get to see. But Garfield saving MJ from the fall and Maguire saving Osborne from being impaled with his glider again were nice bits of closure for both of them.

Also, the fact that we only got the two Spider-Men. The fun thing about Spider-Verse was that all the Spider-People were so different from each other, whereas the three Peters were so similar that, once the initial excitement of seeing them all together wore off, it got a bit tepid. Would have been cool for some more to show up, even if just during the finale before Strange cast the new spell.

I thought it was weird too when Strange showed back up near the end and MJ was like 'look, he's saving them!', but wasn't Strange's issue with Peter messing with their fate and screwing up the universe they came from and not that he didn't think Peter could do it?

And yeah, the whole Venom part was super frustrating. I was really hoping he was gonna stick around somehow (or at least, y'know, show up and do something). Unless they're still planning to do that with the part left behind, because it would be weird for there to be a separate MCU Venom.
