I have to get my PTCB pharmacy certification. From what I've heard from others, I'm fairly confident that I will pass.

I have a three-day weekend, the time is now 5:30 PM, and I have looked at all of 20 questions in preparation. My conscience won't let me play a video game or watch a movie, but I'm still not studying like I should. Somethings never change.

I hope this is some sarcastic thing cuz LOLOLOLOLLL if not

Why not? Reviewers who aren't paid by the company for positive reviews should have the opportunity to state what's going to happen.

When Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter came out, Roger Ebert immediately called them out on the fact that there would be more films in the series. And you know what? More than half of the Friday the 13th series took place after the fourth and "final" chapter.

If Capcom released an awesome Mega Man game and then released micro transactions for new power-ups, I would absolute call out Mega Man 2 and say, "Let's hope they don't burn anymore good will with DLC after the release."

If you're not a paid shill, you should speak freely.

Her face looks like a stretched out .jpeg of a Carmen Electra profile pic. In terms of face and hair, the remake version of Lara was far cuter the 90s version.

This would be like replacing Margot Robbie, who is a beautiful and talented actor, with a c-cup Pamela Anderson. What would even be the point?

I appreciate them trying to consolidate the character into one look. She borrows aspects from the original and remake versions. It makes me think of the Joker being given a Chelsea grin in the comics after The Dark Knight came out.

I gotta say, this probably third place for me in terms of the overall character design. They're trying to go for the "strong female character" type and be sexy without being too sexy. I don't feel like she really captures either vibe that she's aiming for.

You're never going to please everybody. They should have doubled down on the strong modern version rather than doubling back and giving us a sanitized, "acceptable" version of the old Lara..

Could you imagine if Disney killed Cyclops (or "killed" Cyclops)?

Unlike other male protagonist, he wasn't exactly loved. Watch people suddenly start claiming that they always liked him better than the manlet Wolverine if that happens though.

Maybe Rogue has been given a more modest figure because they want White Queen to retain hers should she appear in this version. I know that she won't have a revealing outfit, but they might still illustrate her with her traditional figure.

She's not nearly as attractive as peak Rogue though. Not to me, anyway.

Can't wait for chuds who never read the comics to get mad about Storm's "woke hair" lmao

I've already addressed that.

I know that she had it in the comics. I like the look for her as a character. It's unique and it has cultural roots. It's how African warriors wore their hair -- which is also why Mr. T wears his hair in a Mohawk.

It's just not what I would want presented as "the sexy one." (Emphasis: singular.) When I can compare a woman to Mr. T, she's not what I want to be treated as the sole character who's allowed to have a bust.

But I think that avant garde beauty standards being the only acceptable beauty standards is worse than vilifying beauty and sex appeal outright.

Of course, this might just be me spitefully saying that shouldn't be allowed to fap to a Mohawked waifu if I'm not allowed to fap to a long haired waifu / big haired waifu.

I guess I'm on the wrong side of masturbation history. <_<

Wow 0 votes for kids.

Why Rogue butt gone then?

The real question is why Storm is allowed to be stacked, but not Rogue. If Storm wore her hair like she did in the 90s, instead of a Mohawk, I think she would be deflated too.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/c/cdf2b7cd.jpg

It's an annoying loophole that a character can still be sexually alluring as long as they're not attractive by conservative standards. If she's a dark purple elf with squiggly blue lines on her face, if she has a side buzz, if she's plus size, then she can be "the sexy one."

It's good to have characters like that. Variety is the spice of life, my standard is not the only standard, and people should be allowed to express themselves freely. But I think that avant garde beauty standards being the only acceptable beauty standards is worse than vilifying beauty and sex appeal outright.

I hate the political games that people play when it comes to beauty standards.

The MCU started getting political with Ironman and never stopped.

Iron Man 1 was right-leaning though. It's actually kinda old-school propaganda.

The US is slapping the dogshit out of terrorists -- thanks in part to American industrialist Tony Stark. Once Stark is betrayed, and taken down with his own weaponry, he builds an iron suit in a cave right under the noses of his captors.

The terrorists don't have the brains to match us. They don't have the muscle to match us. Even when one of our own is gifted to them, he still finds a way to best them. The only danger we could possibly have is the threat of betrayal from greedy businessmen who will sell out this country's best interests for money. (Sadly prophetic, really.)

It's the kind of film that you would have seen in World War 2. Just substituting the terrorists for Nazis. Even Indiana Jones had a little bit of that going on. "They haven't one brain among them. Well, there is one. A Frenchman whom they call Bellosh."

No? Maybe some people do but most people in general enjoy looking at attractive characteristics. Especially in fictional media where you can idealize characters.

There's such a strange sex-negative wave that's going through most media in recent times, sometimes it's overt and other times it's minor things like the OP example where they just reduce or remove such things. Where it gets weird is that there's also a push to be more open and accepting about sex in general, usually by the same people that decry sexualized characters.

I truly don't understand it.

Reviewers need to learn to anticipate this or take the opportunity to hold companies accountable for times they've done this in the past.

"As long as they don't add DLC, we will go on loving the game."

"If they had an in-game shop after release, we take back everything nice we've said about it."

"So far, the game looks great. But we've been burned by post-release microtransactions before."

Karma can catch up to the companies just the same.

Since Marvel values her more than Rogue, odds are better than even that she'll return and regain her powers. I don't think that Rogue will lose them. I just think they'll find a way for Captain Marvel to regain her powers independent of taking them back from Rogue.

To be fair, I did catch that Alan Grant's outfits from Jurassic Park were lifted form an older dinosaur movie, Dinosaurus.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/b/b05c6cc0.jpg
They just moved the red scarf from the first outfit to the second. (It's not how he's described in the book. There, he's a barrel-chested man with a beard, a Hawaiian shirt, and cowboy boots.)

It could be a coincidence, but the "tyrannosaurus looking into the vehicle" shot is also in both movies and Jurassic Park is peppered with references to older dinosaur films. The "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" banner is a reference to a film of the same name. And they acknowledged on the Jurassic Park DVD that the scene of the gallimimus getting caught and eaten by the tyrannosaurus was a reference to an ornithomimus getting eaten by an allosaurus in The Valley of Gwangi. "What do they think they've got in there, King Kong?," etc.

Plus, the clothing department already had fun with Dennis Nedry wearing the various outfits that Chunk wore in The Goonies. I don't know. The more I try and justify it, the more I feel it might just be a coincidence. I'd like to feel that I'm onto something though.

I kinda get people recognizing something like Disney's Robin Hood reusing the dance animation from Snow White. Those are both Disney properties. If you watched the films back to back, you might pick up on the same dance.

But how do people hold an exact image in their memory like that to be able to track down when or how someone has plagiarized someone else's work? (Or "paid homage" to it?)
