I'm pleasantly surprised but also furious. I have max rank baton pass on everyone, I'm coordinating accessories to take Joker to max and annihilate the wave with Concentrate + weakness or Megidola. But once it gets to the fat green guys, if I make one mistake than Joker can get wiped by the Sacrifice Order. I've spent a stupid amount of time here.

Part of the problem is I'm too stubborn to grind right now or use Strength's boon to buy a Persona above my level. I'm sure 41 is lower than the average for this area.

Yusuke's really not the anything of the group. He's pretty much tagging along to see things to sketch.

I thought it was super rushed, unless you're counting him losing confidence before the Hawaii trip. He's back with the team like 2 days after finding Haru.

She seems to be getting the short end of all this tbh, I was hoping for her to be her own operative or something but she turns out to be a ditz apparently. Definitely the weakest introduction of a member so far.

They've both always disliked each other, but frankly Morgana's ribs at Ryuji become a lot more prescient. He got the group outed as the thieves to Makoto and nearly blows their cover multiple other times. He's the only one that's totally deluded and thinks he should get special treatment and adoration for being a team member. His idiocy is legitimately dangerous.

Even then, the game doesn't focus on single comments Ryuji made but rather Morgana feeling out of place after Futaba joined (it's Ann that admonishes him for not being able to tell when the sphinx will attack for example IIRC). Ryuji's not really spotlighted as being a dick until he starts intentionally sabotaging everyone's attempts to calm Morgana down. In which case yeah, he was being a dick.

Are you guys sure palace 5 is bad? The theme is space and it has the Daleks from Dr. Who. Plus there's character intrigue. Haru uses the Nav independently and Morgana called her master? The Thieves enter the palace while Akechi is tailing them? Im interested so far

It's frustrating because there's already bullshit DLC that's been integrated into this final release so any time you're doing fusion, there's some DLC coldsteel persona that BTFOs everything else at its level range with an absurd Trait and wacky skills like 6-8 attacks on all foes or full group heal + buff. Same with the register, they have $0 lv 90 The World personas for you.

Oh not to mention a $100,000 free and ten of every great item if you dare click on the cardboard box in your room. Available as early as palace 1.

So you already have to consciously limit yourself to not snap the intended progression of the game like a twig. But then all the other Royal upgrades slowly creep onto you. The EXP bonuses, Jose breaking Mementos, billiards, baton pass bonuses (the difference in damage between lv 1 and lv 3 is actually absurd. A full pass may as well end the battle automatically). There's no way not to become a God.

I've been trying to limit myself to have some more SMT-like palace experiences and as a result, Network reports I'm under-leveled compared to the average in September by like 8 levels.

On the subject of Voyager, this was one of the things that really disappointed me about the premise. I watched some of season 1 and they didn't seem to care about the consequences of this at all. Tuvok in particular shouldn't have even survived episode one. A badge-toting traitor to the Maquis who shows such emotional indifference to his actions should've been found in his bunk with a phaser blast to his heart.

Sisko being a screaming loose cannon is incredibly over-exaggerated by the internet. I can think of a reason why... Really he only has a couple episodes that have him being kinda off his rocker. What really comes to mind is when Dax got him to 'be the villain' for that one traitor guy and have him biobomb a planet. That was just insane and I don't remember how he got away with it.

He's actually probably the captain charged with grounding the most crazy people. Dude's gotta put a leash on a 700 years old narcissist, an enhanced doctor who's too naive to know how dangerous he is, a literal terrorist, a literal spy, a religious ancap, a cult, a loose cannon my-own-justice security officer who's a member of the super-species they're at war with, a war... and on top of all that, he has to balance fatherhood.

Felt this way when I played some of the original and still do now on Royal.

Mishima is this kid with nothing going for him that routinely got beaten unconscious by Kamoshida. But despite being in the same boat as Ryuji and Ann, who become friends from the circumstances, the group continues to treat Mishima like a weirdo and never make an effort to even, like, talk to him.

There are cutscenes where he just walks up to a couple of the main cast to say hello and they all act like a huge burden has been placed on them. He greatly looks up to all of them for having the power to save people like they saved him. But they push him away, which is exactly what turns what could've been a real relationship he had with them as a classmate into his parasocial obsession with the phantom thieves.

In the confidant dialogue, you only get extra points from feeding his delusion. Maybe the developers intended that to just be the option that makes Mishima trust you more, but in context, it comes off like you taking advantage of Mishima's vulnerability to keep him 'useful' as the fansite manager that gives you requests. This is reflected in the story too, as when the thieves are looking for a target bigger than Madarame they ask Mishima, only to be exasperated that they had to talk to him and didn't get anything out of it.

Normally Joker has dialogue to stand up for his confidant when they're attacked by someone else. This is true for Ryuji, Kawakami, Takemi, Yoshida, Chihaya, and Yusuke, just off the top of my head. But when the bullies come and call Mishima a zero, Joker just sits there and lets it play out.

And then, after all this neglect and scorn, while benefitting from the fansite, the moment Mishima asks for something selfish, the thieves decide they'd rather go through Mementos and blow up his shadow instead of fucking talking to him.

They never see him as a person or ally, just a tool or a nuisance. It's fucked up.

I lost my hard drive right after clearing Futaba's palace but before she woke up. Now I've gotten to the start of the palace.

IMO this palace and the lead up to it is the peak of Persona so far. Between how well the seeds were planted with Sojiro's actions, the nature of how the request comes in, and the keyword being Futaba's "tomb" and the pyramid theme. It's so well executed and Futaba's persona awakening is one of the coolest, can't wait to see it again.

If you've beat P5R, then in your opinion are any palaces after this better?

I did get Kawakami maxed before summer. There was actually some leeway as I missed some weekend dates multiple times due to palace shenanigans.

They literally call her queen and bow to her as an authority figure the moment she joins the group
