At my internship we did 'upstream marketing' which was figuring out what global zones we could sell a device in, what prices worked in different places. Focusing on longer term strategy for the business and very quantitative.

Downstream marketing focuses on customer service and advertising.

These are not the same field!!!!

I've never actually gotten much enjoyment from mods. I've had fun building mod lists for games like Morrowind but not so much actually playing them and sorting through technical problems of the list. Other times, the quality of mod assets and UI is so different from the official game that it districts me or is otherwise a problem. And 'silly' mods are fun for a good 15 minutes and then you gotta go through the trouble of getting rid of it, and I question if I get much more out of it than just watching a video of it in action.

I've found mods are best for strategy games like Civ or Mount & Blade where changes can be meaningful but still integrate seamlessly into gameplay.

'great Star Wars' is really nebulous because the only movies people can agree are good are New Hope and Empire, and the reason people like Star Wars is not because of award winning writing or drama or acting.

this already strikes me as part of why it's not doing well. Star Wars fans barely know what they want because I think they're chasing feelings from when they were younger and easier to awe, but this doesn't sound like the droids they're looking for.

NGL I think anime creators just can't help themselves. It's a medium that spotlights the eyes and often rejects subtlety so they feel they gotta have the villain do evil expressions

So Akechi is pretty much what I expected, at least as of 11/21. I don't totally understand why he went through the effort though. Couldn't he just have killed the thieves and then have the police post a fake confession that they were behind the shutdowns? That seemed to be the only angle. Exposing himself as a Persona user was a huge risk.

Maybe it was part of his pride and he wanted to toy with them? It seems the directive may have partly come from Shido though.

I do appreciate that Shido himself is a guy with distorted desires that started at a simple premise, he was sick of the apathy and corruption in politics but became the most corrupt politician of all to fix it.

Does anyone else feel like Adachi and Akechi are too similar in terms of name, appearance, and role? Was this the same writers as 4? Both cops in a suit, wavy/messy brown hair, really similar names, lead double lives.

I wish I didn't get spoiled that Maruki has a palace because it would've been more fun to hear him say some of his wacko shit like "you deserve to escape from this reality" and being unsure where it leads

I can never hang out with Caroline and Justine anymore, they just say "we won't find what we're looking for at this time" even though Joker knows the location. This was happening for the art museum, now they're asking for the maid Cafe but same problem.

It's not about what's common right now, it's about how the OP meme is dysfunctional. Donald Trump's head is photoshopped on Bad Luck Brian (already an ancient meme) and then the caption is just a claim about hypocrisy. It's not even connected to the original image or format, and it is clear that this is not because the image is trying to be clever or subversive somehow, but because the person who added the caption doesn't understand how memes work.

This is actually the craziest one in the thread to me so far. I know they had a non aggression pact at first but everything I know about history says these administrations despised each other more than any others in the world.

I liked the twists in 5, but I enjoyed the murder mystery of 4, much more.

I was disadvantaged by being spoiled about the identity of the murderer, but beyond that I was really annoyed by the mystery and human element being crowded out by the gods stuff. It wasn't interesting at all and took away from the murderer's agency.

Maruki has been a joy. Yeah, Kasumi is so much more on the nose than Marie, but damn, she's way way better too. Marie was unbearable personally. Kasumi at least has a good story so far and is likable. It's just clear the devs weren't concerned with making her feel like a natural part of the game, I guess they wanted her to stick out to people who played the original.

The 5 star limit and unique quote was facepalm worthy though lol

Is Akechi's metaverse gear possibly based on Legend of Galactic Heroes?

When the group leaves after Akechi's confrontation at the school Joker and Morgana stay behind and the game cuts. And just now another cut out happened when Morgana asks Futaba something about his voice.

But I was observant... all the way back at the TV studio, Akechi commented on hearing about pancakes, which Morgana said. So he was a Nav user before Okumura foods.

I think there must be something more than him being the guy who 'sold out' Joker though since that's way too obvious. I hope so at least. In terms of tension the game has been doing really well so far. Blows 3 and 4 out of the water.

Did they intend for this Destinyland scene to feel so fucking stressful after seeing what happens in palace 5? The whole run up of free time afterwards has been awful

I'm not trying to blame you. Just thinking about the management leadership class I'm in. The fact is if two people were crying after performance reviews, I'm not jumping to blaming my generation. I'm guessing either they got a really scathing review, or they felt like they did.

What is the difference in these two IYO? Either way it sounds like these meetings were about underperformance. If not-- if they're simply about helping them grow, your framing might be skewing how you discuss it with them.

Do you include their perspective, ask how they feel about their progress? What work or projects they're proud of or if they feel they've had opportunity to act on their own initiative? Is it a conversation or a sentencing? Is it normal to call people to your office if they aren't 'in trouble?' Do you work to make your 1on1s potentially positive, and that your employees can trust you?

How approachable are you day to day?

Just because their art is detailed doesn't mean it is good.

It's a pretty damning indictment of them that they spend so much time creating art that is totally empty of any insight or self-reflection and which contains the same meaning and depth as any newspaper political cartoon.

Once you get the hang of how you need to deploy Baton Passes etc. then it almost plays like a puzzle where the different game mechanics are the pieces.

I do appreciate it as an SMT fan, but since the rest of the game really doesn't demand this level of rigor, it catches you with your pants down. To justify it the game would've needed a Trumpeter equivalent earlier on.
