Current Events > Persona 5R: do you need to be PERFECT to do (light spoiler) before summer start?

I played the original P5 up to Futaba and I remember I was super angry because I got Kawakami to rank 9 and then summer started so I lost access to her.

Now I'm playing P5R and forgot you need 3 guts to start calling her so I had to waste the first Friday starting her link which means I missed one of her two working days the first week. Do you think I'll still be able to finish her before summer?

And on that note, any other Confidant advice I need? I know Kawakami is important because she gives you more free time.

I'm liking Maruki a lot, I know he wasn't in the original. I'm at rank 4 with him and I'd say he's probably the first great social link with an adult in the series since he actually feels like a mentor to you.

Max out Fortune as she can give you confidant points at a price
Max out Akechi because he's not automatic anymore, and his is actually pretty good
Max out Maruki and Kasumi if you want to do Royal content

I've read it's doable but not easy, and one post on Reddit said you can't miss a single hangout with her.

Wait so Mishima can't understand Morgana... I guess because he doesn't have a Persona?

Honestly it's kinda crazy they just let him live with his parasocial relationship with the thieves and let him do their social media while he knows everyone's identities.

he hasn't seen Morgana actually talk, so his understanding is that he doesn't

I was wondering why Faith and Councillor have such weird sounding arcana introductions and finally realized they probably just never re recorded the originals so these stand out

Max out Maruki before November to access 3rd semester content

You can call Kawakami during the summer.

Just make sure you get Maruki, Kasumi, Akechi (half of his confidant is locked until like 6th palace tho) and the politician out of the way because they all have time limits on them. Akechi and Maruki will both max out via story events if you have theirs at ranks 8 + 9 respectively

3rd semester adds more time for confidants, BUT its only really nighttime ones. The days will pretty much be dominated by your party members because they all have 3rd semester confidants if you already have them maxed. Plus there is another confidant that is story locked to 3rd semester during the daytime. Also the normal metaverse excursions can only be done during daytime obv. Nighttime is clear.

if you're stingy with your mementos/palace visits you have enough time to do everything and then some. I remember having a bunch of time left over at the end of my first run. You do have to know what you're doing though and piecemeal stats by just doing other confidants to raise them, and just focusing on raising stats if you don't have fortune unlocked and nobodys ready to rank up.

Lol I only have one night confidant left and i'm on 11/10... but i still need to max tower, futaba, yusuke, and haru wtf

I did get Kawakami maxed before summer. There was actually some leeway as I missed some weekend dates multiple times due to palace shenanigans.

Maybe in the original, but in Royal she has several days she isn't normally available that you can still request her so I actually got her maxed out well before summer.

With that said, you just need to get to rank 7 iirc to get her request from the next school day. As long as you got that you should be able to finish her during summer.

Pretty sure you wont get rank 10 until school starts back up though. Because theres a scene you need to see at school first to unlock it.

I didn't follow a social link schedule guide and didn't even know about the fortune teller benefit until the end of the game (I didn't max her until the extended content lol).

I was able to max everyone other than 1 character (the arcade kid). I did follow guides for the dialogue choices for the first half of the game and probably should have stuck with that as it actually does have a major impact time wise. The other mistake is not having enough skill to talk to characters for a while. But even that didn't end up mattering much.
