It may have some level of basic truth, but I believe the biosocial theory that eating in the modern world has become a tool for emotion regulation, and people who go on diets or certain restrictive lifestyles without understanding their underlying relationship with food are going to turn back to food eventually.

but think of it as an interdependent relationship. Like a writer could either choose to make a story with an unaffiliated setting and characters, or they could adapt those to be a spinoff to a bigger franchise like Star Wars. In that case you gotta think of both the story itself and the franchise's benefit.

I was talking to some friends about Star Wars as a franchise and whether it's a good setting for stories.

When I think of good spinoffs I think of something like Frasier which is focused on the character. or Better Call Saul, obviously focused on Saul. But Star Wars on the other hand is primarily about keeping the setting to be marketable and then making up new characters. every story is about fighting the empire which is just big evil pseudo nazis.

like does Andor need to be Star Wars or is that a constraint on that story?

Oh and something just came to mind. It annoys me that Akechi being left-handed is used almost like an ominous omen. As a lefty we get so little representation... even Link is right handed now.

You might think it doesn't matter if you've never dealt with being left handed but I've been forced to hide it in things like sports group pictures so i think it's important to treat it as normal and common

Third semester actually toned it way down compared the original 2 and it's refreshing.

Ryuji is definitely written way more respectfully in the third semester. The base game makes him both a punching bag and an impulsive jerk. It's actually difficult to find redeemable things about him in the main story besides some savior feats.

Back when I was in high school we had a cat that we let roam outside, but at some point my mother couldnt stand worrying about him, so we started making him stay inside. From that point on, we had to be very careful whenever leaving/entering the house, cause the cat would I instantly be at the door whenever he heard it open.

It was so much better than how P4 did it at the very least. P5 is a story about kids rebelling, first against street level shitty adults and working their way up against CEOs and prime ministers. So finally rebelling against the collective of society and their god becomes the highest possible expression of that idea. Mementos was also very well integrated into the narrative and it somehow never occurred to me that you would go steal the treasure of Mementos itself. Lots of JRPGs have 'the generic dungeon' for grinding and P5 uses it very cleverly.

In contrast, P4 is a story that encourages you to care about the human element with its low scale setting and focus on the identity of the culprit. So when it takes that route it's just strange and sort of anticlimactic. The one thing I might say P4 does better is that Adachi and his wielding of Izanagi is a better foil to the protagonist than Akechi was. The way he and Yu are parallels but opposites is pretty well constructed, though they didn't let enough of that show before the reveal of his culpability.

Teddie is fine. His shadow is one of the more exciting parts of the narrative, you can take him out of the suit for battles, he's a drag show icon, etc.

Though definitely more annoying than Morgana, who is probably the most overhated Persona character.

I think it's funny that Joker's Showtime is with Akechi

according to an article I found, real Igor's lines are reused recordings from Persona 4. I guess that's why Lavenza speaks for him.

Get Concentrate on Joker then lv3 baton pass to him and use a move that they're all weak to or Megidola. Have Ryuji Tarukaja him.

If you have a save right before sending the calling card then you can go to Mementos and have Jose turn the crystal of greed into the ring, which gives a Concentrate skill that can be cast on anyone in the party.

Basically I'd recommend something like Joker / Haru / Morgana / Ryuji because the hard part is clearing the big executive robots with Psy weakness. Give Morgana a Psi ring and Haru a Garu ring or alternatively craft the Forces set at your workbench, the point is to send the max baton pass to Joker not deal damage with the party members.

This is how I did it, and I was underleveled.

If you don't have a save or aren't willing to go back, maybe trigger a fusion alarm and try to cook up something busted through network fusion or an accident.

I feel like Haru gets snubbed a little, she doesn't get a lot of in-story chance to reveal her real feelings behind the ditzy/diplomatic exterior. It also seemed unrealistic how she was still squarely on the thieves' side after how palace 5 ended up. she doesn't get something like a scene where she goes through the angst and personal guilt of her potential involvement. i'm aware that her being a persona user means her heart was set on the change of heart no matter the outcome, but I think she needed a scene like that to add some depth to her. Otherwise it's kinda weird how she's in tow pretty seamlessly with everyone afterward. I guess this is a lot of words to say I don't think she has a complete arc.
