After seeing this topic, I decided to watch it tonight.

And holy shit does this NOT hold up. I remember loving it at the time, but by todays standards its just incredibly cheesy. I can give a pass to the mid 90s CGI and lame special effects (although I forgot how heavily the movie relies on the special effects since they were new and cutting edge at the time), but even the dialogue and delivery of lines feels very fake and unrefined. The fight choreography is alright but nothing special. I know it was a good movie at the time...but it really shows its age.

I think the reason the first Mortal Kombat works so well is because it very much feels like a B-movie, just like the games themselves do.

Then he uploads it onto Snapchat rather than doing it directly to Reddit or 4Chan and hopes people will catch it and upload it where it can reach people.

What detractors try to do is argue each and every little point. However, they fail to look at the evidence holistically. As a result, they fail to see the big picture. It is possible for any one of these to be faked, but not all of them at the same time. A reason I have presented my argument in such a way is to show the absurdity of this idea. Perhaps you could criticize me of being hyperbolic, and thats somewhat true; however, the facts presented and the relation between them is enough to show why the leak being a fake is, well, silly. Consider Occams Razor. The theory that requires the least explanation is the better one. With that in mind, let me tell you what I think really happened.

ACP PLV is working on both Smash Bros and The Grinch material as both come out around the same time. Someone at the company took a Snapchat of it, maybe because they were disgruntled, quitting, or hoping they wouldnt get caught. Some friends pick it up and share it in a private Discord thinking it wont get out. Someone leaks it onto 4Chan. The reason this agrees with the Chad Dorf post is because he had legit information (as happens sometimes on 4Chan). Things like the CSS and the music menu fit into place because its real and Namco Bandai meant for it to be that way.

Now, I ask you reader, between those two, which sounds more plausible given what we know. Which one seems believable. Which requires less to explain. I figure you will say the latter.

I think by this point Ive developed a strong enough case for why the Grinch Leak is indeed real. Nevertheless, Im sure there are some people who will still disbelieve it because I can not fully prove its really. These people require that I either drive to their house and so them the material in the leak or Sakurai to descend from the heaven and tell them its real. Still, to these people I would say do you really believe that you can hand wave away all of the evidence together. Do you believe that someone went through all this effort, put all these pieces into place, planned this for a month, and did it in such a way as they wouldnt be recognized. Detractors like to claim it is very easy, and if thats so why have we not had something like this until now? Why have we not had someone trying to make a fake of the mural. Why has nobody tried to sneak other references into their fakes to make them real. Moreover, why are we to believe that when people cant even predict what characters will be in Smash that somehow someone did for a fake.

In conclusion, the Grinch leak was fake

Nah, I'm good. For what it's worth, I liked the Smash direct solely on its own merits - the spite involved in places like with Shadow and Isaac were ultimately a cherry on top. Hardly a sole focus on why I enjoyed the Direct.

No hate if you wanted these characters, but you know that there's some maladjusted dickhead who's using these Assist Trophies not being main fighters as an excuse to act like an asshole. Smash breeds that sort of sickness, I swear - look at that turd who hoarded all of those Rosalina Amiibos because he hated her and didn't want other people to have her merchandise. It's that sort of degeneracy that feeds this perverse little sense of spite that I've felt.

If nothing else, I'm glad that these sorts of people didn't get what they wanted. I'm glad that the sickest, most obnoxious Smash fans are going without, because they really don't deserve it. A ton of better adjusted folks have been left out in the rain, of course - I'm sorry if a fighter that you wanted didn't make it in, seriously. If folks were clamoring for Geno and Banjo Kazooie, and weren't spending hours out of their days ripping new assholes into people over disagreements, then I'm ultimately on your side - it's a legitimate bummer, and I'm sorry that you didn't get the character/s that you wanted.

But I've seen so much entitlement and degeneracy from the Smash community, just some real pieces of shit, and the thought of them losing their shit because their precious, entitled ass didn't get fucking Mach Rider or whatever gives me life.

I get why people get iffy on athletics, but the alternatives are p fucked up for transgenders. Either no sports, don't take hormones & compete with your biological sex, or form a new segregated sports industry.

The major problem is we're reaching a point where there has to be a cut off. There has to be a point where society says "no, unfortunately that cannot happen." With sports, it needs to be you either don't transition and continue to play under your biological sex, or don't play at all. There is no middle ground where things can remain fair unless we want to go by weight classes instead of gender. Casual sports or a league where everyone is signing up knowing that gender identity is the determining factor is no problem.

Also, depending on how far down the rabbit hole we're going to go with "people are the gender they say they are", what is the cutoff for someone being considered transgender? If there is a large money prize, can someone just say "I'm a woman for the next hour" and crush the competition? Who would judge how seriously someone is transitioning? I assume there are probably some regulations in place currently, but you have all the gender fluid nonsense going around that could infect these institutions in the future.

There's literally internationally accepted rules regarding what constraints trans women need to meet to qualify for competition, stop with this slippery slope bull crap when to qualify for races with large amounts of prize money you'd have to qualify and sign up months in advance.

But will those rules be the same in five years? Will people argue that they aren't inclusive enough to the point where they're changed again? That's what made transgender people able to compete. The rules were changed to be more progressive. How progressive will they get? We're already going down the slippery slope with them being able to compete in the first place despite the unfairness. People want to ignore that because of progressiveness.
