I don't believe Thanos on his best day could do anything to Superman unless he has the Infinity Gauntlet

Thanos needed the Infinity Gauntlet to even compete with Darkseid but he has no way to destroy the True Darkseid who melts universes just by existing in them.

This video perfectly illustrates just how ridiculous comics are and the lengths to which writers have to bend shit just inevitably have the heroes in DC/Marvel beat these two.

It's about the journey, not the destination.

The Antimonitor is some bullshit, but at the end of the day nobody really cares how he got killed. We care about Barry Allen's death, and Supergirl's death, and how the characters change and grow through the story.

I don't know shit about Darkseid. Is he really that much more powerful than a guy who has essentially become a deity? I mean Thanos could alter reality on a whim.

Darkseid evidently destroys reality by simply existing.

He can only alter reality with the appropriate stones and even then only in his own universe.

WmHYTz7

Darkseid doesn't exist in a reality where those stones work. For that matter, he doesn't exist in a reality that even has stones.

The body you see is just a projected avatar. The real darkseid can't actually enter a universe because if he does, he destroys it just by existing.

As such, even if the real darkseid were to invade Thanos' home universe, everything would be immediately destroyed, Infinity gauntlet or not.

Thanos with Heart of the Universe might do it but 1) that story isn't canon and 2) That's not Thanos doing that, that's the Heart of the Universe doing that. It's already a huge buff to give Thanos the gauntlet. Darkseid already has all of that power baked into him. The only thing Thanos can destroy is the created avatar and Darkseid can just make another one.

I think this is something a lot of people fail to grasp with comics. It's easy to write off a character like Superman just based on what he has the potential to do. But actually read his stories and chances are you'll find something captivating or enjoyable.

Darkseid is a god too and Thanos is a Darkseid clone

The correct winner took this

I always skip analysis and go straight for the fight, I saw Thanos with infinity gauntlet and they didn't give darkseid anything. I was like hmmm. How is this fair? But then they brought out the true darkseid and knew Thanos was immediately fucked

So what exactly is the metric they use for these "fights"? Most times, none have clearly defined or calculable measurements. These kinds of things boil down to creator bias.

There's no one metric they use. They generally give an analysis as to why a winner is chosen. Some of them are really insightful. You can take a look at a some of these to see why winners are chosen the way they are.

TJ Combo vs Balrog:
fighters were determined to be practically equal in strength and they used real life boxing strategies to determine the winner

Dr. Strange vs Dr. Fate
both so cosmically powerful that they said you could easily make a case for either one winning but personally chose Dr. Fate because he can cast spells with thought while Dr. Strange needs verbal and somatic gestures

Sometimes they do something stupid but you have to listen to their justification to find out why.
