Nice! First sale feels amazing. Just keep at it. Sales isnt about how much you know but how well you fake it. A lot is just learning on the fly. Even when not shadowing, always try to listen to conversations from other sales people. Its a great way to pick up on things. Even after years being in sales, I will still try and listen to more experienced people on the phones.

Not exactly but I did form a dependence on pain meds recently. I had been taking one pill daily for about 6 weeks (through a prescription). I thought I was on a low dose and Id be ok. And once I got treatment and my pain decreased, I didnt need pain meds anymore and just stopped taking them. Immediately went through withdrawal. Fever, chills, horrible nausea, moodiness, headaches, general awfulness. Talked to my doc about it and I tapered off them slowly over a couple of weeks. Very scary to think how quickly and strongly your body gets used to them.

Now I do and omg theyre amazing. Also store pancake mixes suck. Making them from scratch is so easy, its just an extra 5 minutes of your time and tastes so much better.

Hmm hard for me to explain. Ive made enough steaks that I can know by just touch when theyre medium rare. They should feel like how the your palm feels under your thumb.

I use a nonstick pan though cast iron is best. I salt my steaks for an hour and get them to room temperature. Get the pan super hot and then I sear it for a few minutes. Flip it then and get a sear and then I lower the heat and add a bunch of butter, garlic and thyme and just baste it. Few more minutes and its done. Get a meat thermometer if you want to check for the cook and arent sure.

The other day I got ribeyes and tried another method. I sear one side in the pan, then flipped it and put it in the oven at 450 for 6 minutes then back on the stove on low (flipping it again) to baste and complete cooking. Got a perfectly even medium rare.

I dont like doing each sides the exact times and then finishing in the oven because one side gets more cooked than the other.

Ive also been to a female one for my sisters bachelorette party. Shes straight but we were in Vegas and shes super shy about naked men so it was just a way to go and let loose and have fun. The dancers love it when women are there and they make it really engaging and entertaining.

Mom isnt allowed to have them in the truck in the first place. Can you imagine if the UPS driver that got killed last week happened to have his kid with him too?

I dunno, the package was delivered right around the time it happened so I was concerned. Holidays can make people desperate and jump drivers. There are also a ton of dogs here that are left outside all day and jump fences, etc. Im not sure why it makes me a terrible person to be concerned for a kid.

In any case, as Ive said Im leaning towards not to because of holidays and I dont want someone to lose their job around then. But I also dont think this is nbd.

There is a whole bunch of scenarios why there is a kid in there. Scenarios you are not aware of. Maybe the driver is a bad person. Maybe he isn't. Maybe he's doing the best he can and a situation was thrown at him where he had to bring the kid along. Maybe the kid asked if he can do some small boxes and the "dad" humored him.

Whatever the reason, I know one thing. If you report the situation, you are probably a horrible person and between that guy and you, I hope people like you are erased from our world permanently because you are just one reason why this world has become a terrible place. Its time to look in a mirror and ask yourself why you hate yourself so much.

Was it a UPS delivery? I know in some areas we are using Personal Delivery Drivers. Basically you show up in the morning and we load whatever vehicle you drive with as many packages as possible, then you go deliver them. There really aren't any controls in place beyond that.

If the package was heavier than 10-15lbs I would say definitely report it to the UPS site it was delivered out of. We likely won't use that particular driver again.

"UPS using child labor" would be a fucking publicity nightmare and I'd imagine we would like to avoid that lol.

If it was just a small package I'd say let it go as it's just a kid helping their parent. Still probably wouldn't be ok by UPS standards, but fuck it.
It was OnTrac

TC you literally have zero context of the situation. Don't ruin someone's life over nothing.
I dont consider child exploitation to be nothing. There are clear laws on this and rules that drivers know they have to follow, including not bringing their kids (or anyone I believe) in their delivery trucks.

That said Im leaning towards not saying anything as I dont want to fuck with a familys income before holidays. Curious as to what CE thinks.

Was this during a school day or were schools off? If schools were off and they were just helping the kid then it's ok. Lots of people bring their kids into the office on school closed days and have them help with small things like filing. This sounds like basically the same idea.

If schools were active though then that's wrong and should be reported.
I have never seen a coworker bring their child and have them do any work. Theyll play around but thats it.

Should I report it?

So we have an outdoor security camera set up. I get a notification on my phone when someone approaches the door.

I got a notification the other day and looked at it. A small child was delivering my Nordstrom package. They looked to be between 8-10 years old.

Im guessing the driver is taking their kid in the truck and having them deliver the packages.

It really bothers me because I feel like this is child labor law abuse. People dont take their kids to work and have them work for them. But Im conflicted because I dont want the driver getting fired before the holidays if their family is relying on that money. Ive asked a couple people irl and theyre saying its no different than paying kids to do chores. But a) making your kid do your work for you isnt chores and b) how do we know theyre even paying the kid?

What do you guys think?

You're absolutely right. But that isn't the issue. I know lots of languages.

Problem is twofold:
1. The only development jobs are .Net, and I hate .Net.
2. This isn't the industry I want to be in but it's become the one I have experience in.

1 isn't strictly true, of course. I saw a Java job posted in Texas last week.
Most of the big tech companies are on Java or Go. But I think theyre mostly in Austin so not sure if youd want to relocate.

On topic, Id say my current job. I went back to my old company but the first time I accepted a role here, I knew I finally had something solid. I still dont know how I even got the job, they wanted someone senior and I only had a year of experience in the industry. But I was an engineer before that and they valued it. Before that, I wasnt making much and felt very stuck. I just had to leave the engineering industry and took a few risks to get here.

How old are you both? Had she brought up the issue before now? I have a hard time believing its been 6 months of you neglecting her without her mentioning how it effected her.

I also feel like there is more to the story. It seems extreme to throw away 12 years and a marriage because your spouse has been neglecting you 6 months. I wouldnt call it a pattern if the last time it happened was 4 years ago. Every marriage/long term relationship will have its downs and the key is to work through them as a couple.

As we were processing the lease, someone else took it and he informed me they had it in white. Then he said girls usually like white cars. He lost the deal with that and I ended up at another dealer getting my black car. Fucker.

So many people are miserable and self hating. So they like to hurt others. You kind of have to treat them like savage animals. As soon as they smell weakness, as in they know what they say to you can hurt you, the more they will prey on you.

I was bullied all throughout school and it only stopped when I stopped giving them any reaction whatsoever. You have to take the power away from them.

And honestly, since you have to fast at least 6 hours (usually 12+) before you can go under and you'll be out for the procedure and a little while afterwards, it's totally reasonable to feel hungry. Of course, if I get too hungry I get nauseous anyways. Woo. :l
3 times to do facet injections/ablation to my neck joints, once for an egg retrieval and once for a hysteroscopy. Nothing really major. But yeah I would assume most people would be hungry but my doc was saying most people are too nauseous and eat lightly. I go to In N Out or DQ lol
