If an individual feels the wage is not fair and/or worthy of what they bring to the table as an employee, they can seek employment elsewhere. Thats it, its that simple. Government need not be involved.

Yeah cuz these protestors arent throwing things. Burning down buildings (in my city they sat a building on fire and there was a child inside). Beating people up. In some cases shooting and killing people. Several cops have been killed in all of this. David Dorn was shot and killed by a protester.

Police arent perfect. But this Marxist mob is insane.

Excuse me but who is it out in the streets packed shoulder to shoulder shouting with no masks on? This doesnt need to be a partisan issue. Americans, regardless of where they fall politically, value their individual freedoms. It is up to the individual to keep themselves safe from covid. Government cannot magically absolve all risk.

There were some photos of old Aunt Jemima ads/flyers on a Reddit thread about this, and they were horrific and disgusting. One of them had her mouth accentuated to look like straight out of a minstrel show (ape-like). I shudder even typing this, and I wont share the pictures, you can look them up yourself. The name of the character was inspired by a song written for a minstrel show. Its disgusting and ridiculous to think that the only reason it can go this long without having been changed is because your average person (myself included) had no idea.

I guess the only good to have come out of it was the model for the character (last name Green) was able to be financially successful and engage in a career of activism (please correct me if Im wrong but that is what I have heard about her).
(Just to clarify, this of course does not even remotely justify the nasty origin of the brand)

Any business should be allowed to open. Its up to people whether or not they choose to take a risk. Personally, I wont be going right away. But people should have the freedom to do so if they want.

1. Establish an independent inspector body that investigates misconduct or criminal allegations and controls evidence like body camera video. This civilian body will be at the state level, have the ability to investigate and arrest other law enforcement officers (LEOs), and investigate law enforcement agencies.
2. Create a requirement for states to establish board certification with minimum education and training requirements to provide licensing for police. In order to be a LEO, you must possess that license. The inspector body in #1 can revoke the license.
3. Refocus police resources on training & de-escalation instead of purchasing military equipment and require encourage LEOs to be from the community they police.
4. Adopt the absolute necessity doctrine for lethal force as implemented in other states. Use of force is automatically investigated by #1.
5. Codify into law the requirement for police to have positive control over the evidence chain of custody. If the chain of custody is lost for evidence, the investigative body in #1 can hold the LEO/LE liable.

You actually laid out some solutions. This is very refreshing. Well done.

With places slowly opening up in phases, people will be going out more. In New York many areas are going into step 2 of reopening in a few days. But these protests, while people are wearing masks, certainly arent following social distancing, and you know people are taking their masks off periodically at these gatherings.

Do you think the country is going to go back into full quarantine because of this?

Have you seen the pictures/videos from these protests/riots/looting? Sooo many people just flat out not wearing masks at all.
