No, not even close. They're so intent on shooting each other they WANT the police gone. And it doesn't take a scientist to know racism is not the overwhelming problem they want it to be. Yes, there is a dangerous trend of cop hatred (a prejudice similar to racism) but the media's portrayal of it is vastly exaggerated.

Personally, I know many cops. I feed them often. They are good people. Other businesses are shunning them because "that's the thing to do to avoid being looted" (incorrectly) since faux news is telling people everyone wants cops gone, incorrectly.

We want bad people out of positions of power, including trump and others of power, who think like him, for only themselves.

Whats really making me nervous is that a lot of progressive news outlets are looking to temporarily report the news from another country... supposedly because of how bad theyre expecting Coronavirus to get here. I think its because they know something we dont. Or at least see a disturbing parallel between whats happening now and Early Nazi Germanys use of police(the military wasnt on board with a lot of their shit til later on).

Another logical fallacy here. There is nothing at all similar about a cop placing you under arrest for committing a crime and a random redneck brandishing a weapon and telling you to get in their van. There is no innate threat of harm if you don't resist arrest

Because a routine arrest isn't supposed to result in a firearm being used. Citizens understand that if you break the law, you are placed under arrest and if you comply that nothing should happen. If a stranger approaches you and reveals they have a weapon and tells you to get in their van it's definitely an implied threat that harm will come to you whether you comply or not

I am just trying to understand your definition of violence, because I don't right now, and things I don't understand interest me. I don't have an ulterior motive here. I agree that it is a serious crime. In my mind, it would be considered violence because there's an implicit threat of harm that will be worse the less they comply with my orders.

I do not think all violence is bad or all involuntary detainment is bad, just that involuntary detainment obtained by the threat of even greater bodily harm if they resist is a form of violence.

What I'm curious about here is your definition of violence. Do you perceive impersonating a cop to steal someone's vehicle as a serious non-violent crime or a serious violent crime?

I hate to be hyperbolic (and I would never have said it before this year) but it honestly feels like the US is heading towards either a period of mass poverty and inequality, or mass violence.

Even in light of the record unrest, almost none of the root problems are being addressed and the best solution the state can come up with is increasing oppression. Nobody is bending and the problems aren't going to just go away.
