Reddit recently updated it's rules against promoting hate and left one glaring exception.

While the rule on hate protects such groups, it does not protect all groups or all forms of identity. For example, the rule does not protect groups of people who are in the majority or who promote such attacks of hate.

...What? Women make up a majority of the U.S. population.
By definition, they are a "group(s) of people who are in the majority", so the rules of protection shouldn't apply to them.

I'm not saying the rules shouldn't apply to them, I'm pointing out how stupid it is to base "is it hate?" on population %, and pointing out how utterly hypocritical it will be when the rules are inevitably used against misogynist posts far more often than on misandrist posts despite men being the ones not in the majority.
It's a dumb restriction. Hate is hate.

It's obvious who their target is, and you're trying to get mathematical and overthink something.

I'd actually like to see somebody set up a test case, and reply to the ban with the statistics that females are the majority.

Nothing too rude, a purely clinical test case. One inch over the line, with a volunteer on both sides.

Whenever someone says "you can't be racist against the majority" I always respond with "so if a white guy calls a black guy in Kenya the N word he isn't being racist?"

I agree, I'm just telling you what I think is going to happen.

Maybe I'm just cynical. Wouldn't be the first time I've seen it go down that way though. (Bonus points for a site that has vague rules, refuses to provide proof, and says in the ToS that no matter what happens you can't sue them.)
