I think big FFV fans actually like Galuf? He does have one big moment. But nobody really cares about FFV's story to begin with so what he does in it doesn't matter. We ranked Bartz Mid Fodder and he at least had Dissidia exposure so Galuf is low.

At least for individual games, the Genesis beyond Sonic and fighting games kind of sucks here. Gamefaqs loves it some RPGs and Action-Adventures, this was not the console to own in that era for longer experiences, and Streets of Rage is exactly the type of old school game the site's generally not that into. SoRII looked miserable in 2009 too.

If he was only in Castlevania he wouldn't even be mid - he's basically never very important - but that name means a bit even on gamefaqs. Won't go high because...I can't think of much Frankenstein's been in lately that would be worth caring about? And by lately I probably mean the last 15 years.

Firebrand - Low fodder

Arthur's probably not even especially good himself but you can argue the knight and his underwear are kind of iconic. Firebrand's gonna be worse so yeah.

It was released between Dragon Quest II and Final Fantasy I/Phantasy Star, so it was probably sort of okay in its original context? It's monster recruiting and fusion stuff were probably pretty original at the time.

Not remotely worth playing nowadays though. Even the SNES remake is just kind of decent.

My issue with Jeff is that I watched the show pretty consistently up until around Vanuatu or so but without participating in any real discussion of it outside of commenting on it with family while we watched new episodes and...Not only did I not remember Jeffs name before it was brought up for this topic, Im not sure I ever previously knew it. Did recall his voice and appearance for what thats worth. Furthermore I didnt really remember anyone else very clearly other than Richard Hatch and Johnny Fairplay.

Maybe Im atypical but I dont think people on gamefaqs in 2020 are going to care at all outside the Survivor fanbase and I dont think the latter is gonna be that large. also I dont know if people would really wanna vote game show hosts much regardless. I dont see, say, Regis Philbin being worth much either and Id say he has better name recognition? on the other hand Id probably take Jeff to beat Cookie and other people voted him low fodder so theres that.

Basically nobody outside Japan actually cares about Megami Tensei 1. Could see it getting in anyways though in a field this weak as a series rep. 16 seed is probably fair.

Missing games: Uh. The original version of Snatcher that was never officially released in English came out in 1988 so it would be eligible. But Snatcher's pretty cult in general, the later CD version's voice acting is part of the reason anyone cared in the first place, and Kojima superfans already have Metal Gear available if they want to rep their guy so yeah I don't think people would bother.

I guess there's Popeye but that's not widely cared about at this point.

Thinking on it though, I, uh. I can't exactly say that one comes as a huge shock. I don't really know much about him other than what I've seen on his and Mekkah's channels but if someone reasonably prominent in the Fire Emblem community was going to get MeTooed, Mangs...seems like one of the first guys you'd expect?

Jessie Rasberry (Final Fantasy VII) - Mid fodder

FFVII character you meet pretty much right at the beginning of the game, has a few scenes in the first few hours, the recent FFVII remake would have both reminded people they exist (if you haven't played it in a decade or weren't a super fan it might be easy to forget) and I hear it expanded their role (though with how long it stretches the Midgar arc, I assume almost everyone's role being expanded is a given?), and she's an attractive female. FFVII being such a important game from many gamers' youths, people probably care a lot more about this one NPC than would otherwise seem justified. Could see an argument for high fodder but I haven't played the remake so I'll see what others think on that.

A character with a general lack of popularity and hype and from games with this kind of reception would probably have been low fodder in general but cute girl people have probably heard of and dont hate sounds mid fodder-ish. Its kind of borderline though. People dont seem to care strongly about any of the XIII games.

Azala (Chrono Trigger) - low fodder

Probably worse than Dalton at that because of less screen time but Chrono Trigger is too much a force for her to be LAW. Maybe Red Beast or someone could be LAW though.

Seymour Skinner (The Simpsons) - mid foddet

he steams a good ham.

Inkling - mid fodder

they could be better than this, but I wouldnt count on it. An entrant probably carried hard by Smash either way.

Not entirely sure what if anything to make of that in light of Haggar and Poison actually looking not worthless. I guess those two are kind of wild and out there enough to possibly transcend their game a bit but I don't see Cody doing the same or doing much at all to attract voters who don't care about Final Fight or the fighting games he's playable in.

Samurai Goroh (F-Zero) - Low fodder

Tom Nook - High fodder

Looking on par with Meta Knight and co. is probably not happening, but in a post-New Horizons world, he's certainly got more going for him than previously. Thinking I'm a no on Villager moving up beyond high fodder too, if that occurs to anyone? Isabelle's miserable 2018 makes me a little doubtful of how much that Smash inclusion is worth. We'd also probably be looking at a 2021 character battle at the earliest which is a lot of time for the franchise to cool a little.

Normally id put a non-Sonic Sega characters as low fodder without worrying because outside a couple Yakuza characters and Vyse (the latter mostly due to our JRPG focus) they just havent been remembered. That one dude I controlled in this pretty good less than 2 hour long game just doesnt generally cut it as a memorable character over 20 years later unless maybe youve got a ridiculous play rate but outside Sonic Sega games wont. And Segas RPGs/action-adventures back in the day generally didnt quite hit the big leagues.

But Joe Musashi is a cool looking ninja. Weve seen Hayabusa and 2002 Strider Hiryu punch well above their series weight (and we still ranked the latter as high fodder) so being the main of a sorta notable franchise plus ninja might be enough for mid? Could potentially flop but ill give benefit of the doubt to Ninja Factor.

Mass Effect 1 isn't weak and she's a squadmate there, the ME2 DLC with her as a squadmate comes with Mass Effect Trilogy, and she's a squadmate in ME3 too. She's fairly prominent throughout the franchise and I think she's reasonably well-liked too.

Jim Raynor (Starcraft) - Low fodder

I think we underrated Kerrigan (her percentage on Crono wasn't that abysmal and absent the 4chan rally she would have likely beaten Missile) but Raynor is going to be weaker so he deserves low.
