This is a topic to rate the contest strength of potential newcomers in the current contest environment.

I will pick the characters to rate and discuss for each day from user nominations - whoever the 3 most nominated characters are at that time. If there are more than 3 I will pick randomly. You can nominate any number of characters at any time, but you cannot nominate the same character twice.

All characters who were present in the 2018 Character Battle will NOT be eligible. Otherwise you can nominate any character that has appeared in video games; even comic book characters. This will exclude real-life athletes who have only appeared in long running sports series, however I will accept those who have their own games such as Shaq. I will accept nominations for iconic gaming duos too, if there is a compelling reason for both characters to be linked (either co-starring in a game ala Banjo & Kazooie, or always appearing together like Callie & Marie from Splatoon).

Each day will have a separate topic, and nominations will carry over. As far as actually rating the character's contest strength; I ask that users rank a characters potential strength with one of the following qualifiers - LAW Fodder, Low Fodder, Mid Fodder, High Fodder, Fodder Line, Low Midcarder, Midcarder, High Midcarder, Near Elite, Elite, LAW Tier (capable of beating Link). I will average all the ratings given to a character to come up with their final ranking. I have included a highlighted entrant from Character Battle X on each tier of the strength rankings below, to provide a baseline for each.

Note that LAW Fodder is meant to be a tier reserved for the weakest possible characters to put into a contest. A character will only be placed there if at least 3/4ths of the voters for that day agree on the LAW Fodder rating, and no ratings above Low Fodder are given. If either of those conditions are not met, the character will not be eligible for the LAW Fodder tier.

Because of how damn weak sports games, and ESPECIALLY non-arcade sports games, are Tiger Woods pushes LAW. Actually yeah you know what. I'll stick with that.

There are very few Gen 1 Pokemon I would confidentially say are low fodder, and Slowpoke isn't one. Slowpoke looks goofy enough to get Mid Fodder votes probably. It would be on the low end of Mid Fodder admittedly.

Elastigirl is part of one of the most beloved Pixar moves, is the main character of the sequel and probably gets waifu votes so she could be as high as High Fodder, but I feel closer to Mid.

Not wanting to bump the last topic, but I either completely forgot or never knew the main character in CoC (called Soleil here) was called Corona. Haven't played it in about 10 years though.

I found it a fun game once you start collecting a few animals, I liked the mechanism with each animal adding different effects onto your sword / movement speed etc. Think CJayC wrote one of the FAQ's for the game from memory?

I'll skip the rankings for today, but I figure any character only getting discussed at this point is going to be fodder of some level.

Tiger Woods is definitely LAW fodder. Not only are sports games weak, his off-the-course misadventures make him a potential antivote target.

Slowpoke is probably High Fodder for the same reason that the likes of Mudkip and Bidoof were high fodder in '07 and '08: memes. Slowpoke remains an enduring meme. I doubt he'd win much in 1v1s, but he'd easily make R2 in a 4way format and threaten to go deeper with a lucky draw where he can take advantage of characters leaching.

Elastigirl is probably mid fodder. I'm not as up on my Pixar, so I'm just going to defer to Ranticoot's opinion.

Tiger Woods is honestly too well-known to be law, so I will say Low Fodder. Yes his games didn't make much of an impact and he has had some extremely publicized off-field controversies. But he's still a household name due to how dominant he was at golf in the 90s and 00s.

Slowpoke is Mid Fodder. Gfaqs doesn't care nearly as much about memes as it did in 2008, and Slowpoke doesn't have a whole lot going for it outside of that.

nominate Cortana (Halo) for re-ranking. I still think she has too much in terms of TJF and waifu points to be low despite Gfaqs not really caring for Halo anymore, but I'll put her up anyway.
