I still use my 20 year old TI-89 on a daily basis. I can't say that about any other piece of electronics from 20 years ago. It's better than making all the students buy their own, but it was a definite scam considering they looked at every little scratch on them to charge you and still just used them the next year like they didn't just consider it damaged enough to charge a kid full price for it. When I got to college, all my professors would say (you guessed it) no graphing calculators to be used for exams.
