I am basically with you on the fact that I don't think the series needs or necessarily want to see a continuation here (Though I'd play the hell out of it if there were), and honestly thought the twist was Kodaka's commentary on why he thought he was writing V3 to begin with.

also don't play UDG. Watch a Let's Play if you really want to experience it, but don't play it.

6 is fantastic and actually just slightly below 5 IMO. I can't speak to the quality of the mobile port, but I will wholeheartedly recommend it.

probably the single biggest oversight I have as a gamer is that I've never played DQ8 despite playing (and loving) a lot of the rest of the series. There are a lot of other big name, popular games I've never played (or played very small amounts of), but almost of those fall into genres and styles that I actively dislike. Meanwhile, JRPGs are basically my genre for as much as I do play video games anymore, and I love Dragon Quest.

Basically the only DQ game I didn't really love and power through was 7 - I got ten or so (iirc) hours in to the 3DS version, put it down, and never went back. And then I just didn't feel like picking up any new RPGs until P5 afterwards so I never bought the 3DS version of DQ8 which I planned to do after I finished DQ7. And now my DQ11 save has 95 hours on it, in decently large part because I felt the urge to +3 all the items in the crafting system before going and wiping the final boss.

So basically my takeaway here is that DQ8 absolutely needs to be the next game I get, after Tokyo Mirage Sessions and P5R, at least.

But for accounts that you use on multiple devices, I don't know what's the better alternative. Like I don't think you'd use one for your Nintendo account.

Its best feature is that it just uses local files for everything, so you're not relying on somebody else's service or security. You can just copy the file it creates to your phone or wherever else you want it, too (Whether manually or using something like Dropbox).

I know Persona does this. Not sure about other RPGs off the top of my head.

Dragon Quest games that actually have on-field enemies also do this.

As far as Ace goes, the only games really worth mentioning imo are the one at the very start (Seidou vs Komadai Fujimaki, probably better nominated as Satoru Furuya vs Hongou Masamune honestly) and around the 1/3 mark (Seidou vs Ichidai). The back half has had several games, but I wouldn't say any of them are worth bringing up here. The manga has an Ichidai vs Yakushi game that I will absolutely tell people to watch and nominate once the anime covers it, but that's probably not until late 2020 assuming the anime doesn't take any breaks.

If you're looking at sports series in general, I'd look towards the Hakone Ekiden (Run With The Wind) before looking at either of the Ace matches I mentioned, though. That was entirely in the second half of the anime, so it should be valid unless you dispute it being a fight/match. If it counts though, I'd say it deserves top billing overall.

A New Hope is the better movie front to back but it doesn't really have any peaks for me.

It has a few imo, though none are as high as the throne room.

The trench run is obviously the highest, but the opening battle on the Tantive IV, Luke making it back to his destroyed home and resolving himself to go to Alderraan (If you think emotional downer scenes like that can be 'peaks', at least) and the old man lightsaber duel and the end of the Death Star escape all qualify in my book.

You're right that it trades out the really high highs of RotJ for more consistency but I disagree that it has no particular standout moments.

Biggest disappointment with the movie is that it didn't take Hux's "fuck you, I just want Ren to lose" in a direction that had him wind up trying to help Palpatine to the detriment of both the other factions somehow.

Obviously hard to do when he died in the very next scene but whatever

Other than that, people have pretty much already said the things that line up with my thoughts. Decent but not great movie overall. Watchable as a fan of the franchise.

"Battler intentionally threw the game and created the logic error to mastermind a situation where Beatrice would revive herself and rescue him" was a common theory (if not the outright dominant one) on the motive behind Battler's actions in Ep 6 when it was released. You commented a couple times it felt like this was the case, and you weren't the only one.

Attributing that motive to him also very strongly parallels him to the way Kinzo was portrayed throughout the first four episodes.

This is accurate for insurance industries that aren't health-related.

With the health insurance industry, there isn't really any concept of "mitigating risk". When something happens, you literally pay or die. They're just middle men who are there for the sole purpose of skimming money off the top and profiting while also jacking up prices so that people literally can't afford to go without insurance.

The profit motive being weighed against people's health and lives (And usually far more heavily) is what makes the health insurance industry specifically evil. Which is why so many of us want a system where the profit motive is taken out of it (The simplest way being getting the government involved)

(Also shit like this is literally why I said a few days ago that you go to bat for the health insurance industry every fucking chance you get)

(Also want to make it clear that I don't think it's necessarily morally wrong to work for an insurer, but if you were to try to classify the larger industry, evil would absolutely be the way to go)
