i think about this sometimes actually. we understand so much more about autism nowadays. But we were all teenage jerks on the internet back then. We didnt know the first thing about autism. Its kinda sad when you think about it. Hopefully gen z and future generations get it figured out

Worth noting that my ertyumom shtick was just to give him the attention he wanted. The fact that he himself participated as ertyukitty is telling.

Also worth noting is that I myself am on the spectrum. I never harassed him because of his disability. I was trying to have fun with him, and I apologize if it came off in any other way.

I'd say like 95% of this board has been here for over a decade so yeah

If we're coming clean, I was part of the ertyu family accounts as well. I thought it was all in good humor at the time. I did have some positive interactions with him during it, so I don't think he took as negatively as we're assuming.

I think he took it as a compliment, honestly. And he reveled in the attention. So even though he kept hissing at us on his cat's behalf, he was enjoying himself. And it was fun at the time - I'm just glad ertyu himself joined in. I don't think he holds grudges against most people.

But thanks for coming clean! I wonder who all else was involved. There were two brothers, a sister, two iterations of the father, a dog, a grandma...

Everyone here could have treated him better. It isnt just you or me or any one person. The internet was not a nice place 20 years ago and no one is mature in their young 20s.

I sometimes miss that "Wild West" era of the internet, but then I remember how bad certain people were and then I don't. The fact that ertyu lasted as long as he did despite the treatment says something. I doubt he'll come back after he got banned for spamming, but he was trying too hard to replicate his old antics with little success. Since the drawings were all recycled, one has to wonder if it really was Trey himself or an impostor.

I was the dog. He once said that ertyudad was the only one that really bothered him and based on the mannerisms of that one I always had an inkling of who it was but I won't throw out speculative accusations, even though they are no longer on the board as far as I know. I always thought ertyu himself was the grandma, not the kitty. But you're right, there was definitely a degree to which he enjoyed the attention, whether it was positive or negative.

My own treatment of him definitely still haunts me, and I tried to be a lot nicer to him when he returned in 2018, but by that point he held so much animosity towards us that it was difficult for him to accept any sort of good will, and I don't blame him. There was a time when he genuinely tried to participate in the board community by doing things like hosting contests and it sucks that we ruined that for him.

one of many things I ain't proud of with the board's history and my part in it

I appreciate us as a board reflecting back on our growth and lack thereof alongside ertyu.

I think I mainly did side-impersonations typing like him, and to his credit there's just something real fun about some of his phrases as well as the bonding we've had in sharing a few of those phrases...but, also, recognizing so much of this is around the context of us not playing well together because of a condition of his I don't really know. While some of it was light-hearted and it usually felt like that for me as an individual, the lines between between that and antagonism got blurry over time when group dynamics were involved too.

Back when I was new here around 2011/2012 I was nicer to him and we were sorta friends, to the point where we voice chatted over xbox live a few times. Then suddenly he started making topics/posts about how my youtube "stinks" because I very rarely upload to it and then I took the wrong route by eventually joining the mob against him.

I don't remember being too mean to him. But I guess you don't remember those things very well. He was always super innocent. We had a bunch of people on autism spectrum here and treated some better and some much worse, for various reasons.

This board's youngest user kept getting "isn't he 14" jokes like 15 years ago, what do you think
