Got to level 80 today! It felt like it took forever to reach 70 and then just a couple days to jump to 80.

since I got to the end of pool 2 with literally only 100 credits left Ive just been grinding credits there a bit before getting my collector level up. Ive started to get matched with a few pool 3 players today (Im rank 45), such as the one who used his Arnim Zola on the Hobgoblin I gave him

im at end of pool 2 and running a jubilee deck. Was having a hard time climbing with a movement deck since it seems like everyone just runs destroy decks which has way too much synergy in pool 2 compared to movement

Yeah I really want Juggernaut too. Storm + Juggernaut seems too good. Luckily for you Strange is pool 2 so you'll get him sooner rather than later. Juggernaut may be a while since pool 3 is massive.

Made it to 40! Thanks to Klaw-senpai and some idiot Moon Dinosaur deck who played 2 Sword Masters on turn 6.

Just started getting into pool 2 cards too. Okoye seems strong. I don't like any of my 2* options so she's going in.

Pool 3 is pretty painful, you either get a card or boosters/credits every 8 levels

guess I just hope I get something half decent, so far its Beast, Polaris, Electro, and Red Skull

i'm decently far into pool 3 and it is straight up elo hell. i feel like 80% of my matches are against people who pulled more synergistic cards than me, and all my best cards / combos get instantly shut down by enchantress or cosmo. i'm getting a little impatient and snapping often when I shouldn't though. i probably need to go back to the drawing board with some of these decks though

New season pass cards aren't added to the card pool for 2 months. So I have all of the cards but I can't get Black Panther for 2 months if I don't buy his pass.

I understand that part of it, but my question revolves around if you unlock all the cards you can keep upping your collector level and you just get caches with variants or credits or whatever, but in two months does the game add BP into a slot where a cache would be or do they just award you the card if you have a high enough CL?

I'd imagine he just gets added as a chance to unlock in your next cache, just like any other card. The pity time is 8 or 9 cache to get a card in pool 3 so you'd still get him pretty quick.

Pool 3 starts at like 468 or something and I finished Pool 3 around CL 2950

So yeah you're going to be in Pool 3 for a while. But the whole collection only took me 4 months to get so compared to other mobile games or CCG you get the entire collection pretty fast.

Got some new Cards

Human Torch - He seems really good in a movement deck but I'm kinda not into movement decks. They seem to do the same stuff all the time which is the OPPOSITE of what the flavor of a movement deck should be. Like I use Nightcrawler and Vision because they're hard to pin down and can shift lanes. But I see a movement deck and I'm like "oh they're gonna iron fist vulture move him left Heimdall turn 6 blah blah" yawn. Movement decks are an interesting idea I just think the card design on them is poor and they should be about unpredictability rather than spamming as many moves as possible and buffing from them. Like Dr Strange is a great movement card. Vulture and Human Torch bleh no thanks. Give me Human Torch who is a 5/7 with the same ability and I'm maybe excited to just run him and Strange to plunk 17 strength into a lane turn 6.

Ghost Rider - He's cool. His flavor is perfect. If he had a Nic Cage variant he'd be the ultimate card. Can't immediately use him, but happy to get him for when I can. I'd like to use an Agatha deck that plays Sif to get her out of my hand at some point and he'd fit right into that.

Juggernaut - YEAH I'M THE JUGGERNAUT! This guy is awesome. Top card to get. I'm gonna throw him into my tricksy Mysterio deck immediately. Storm + Juggs is so good.

I made a CHAOS deck for when I feel like dicking around. The goal is to just randomize it much more.

Okay so that post ranting about movement being dumb in this game inspired me-- I think I made a fun tricky movement deck.

It's currently 4-1 so it's at least sorta working. I feel like I'm just overloading people because I've had 2 games where I just completely rearrange the board turn 6 and am winning lanes that previously looked crowded with like 2 power. The idea is to bait people into lanes with Cloak or Storm and then abandon those lanes.

I'm gonna have to play it more to see what I can tweak. I'd REALLY like to put Mysterio in (he crowds lanes but should be doable since I'm not using Multiple Man-- he's also awesome with Bishop) but I need to see what pieces aren't working. Kraven + Torch + Strange are fun with Beast though.

Wong, Mystique, Onslaught, and Ironheart on one location absolutely that can go fuck itself what happened made no sense and gave one location 61 power.

Something had to have broken the game somehow because it went on forever.

I don't care to do the math again but long story short it causes the on reveal to trigger 256 times.

So yeah if you see someone has Wong and then they use Mystique on Onslaught just get out of the game and save yourself 20 minutes.

Is that smart or dumb?

The only upgrade that's a better "deal" is common to uncommon. All of the other card upgrades have the same credit to upgrade ratio.

So yeah it's slightly better to level up all of your common cards to maximize your collection level but in the long run it doesn't make a huge difference.

Oh yeah Im not talking about upgrading with credits through the Shop, I just mean actually playing matches with a deck full of Common/Uncommon cards even if they dont work well together just to obtain boosters for them

You are slightly more likely to get boosters for non-upgraded cards. It works better to make a coherent deck of like nine cards and rotate out the last three. Once in awhile you'll get extra boosters for a card you use regularly but you only need five boosters to get to uncommon anyway.

Like basically as long as you frame break to uncommon every card it's not more efficient to get everything to rare or anything. Actually it's less efficient in a way because if you Max upgrade a card you get a foil version of them that you can frame break as well.

Long story short

1. Upgrading cards to Uncommon (frame break) gives better collector level per credit spent but only works once per card. (25 credits for 1 collector level)
2. Every other level is identical. (50 credits per collector level)
3. But at max level you get a foil card that you can frame break again to get the 25 per once.

So if you're min maxing your collection should be all Uncommons aside from the cards you're going to fully upgrade.

Honestly it doesn't matter much. Just don't ever buy fast upgrades from the shop and you're not making a mistake.

Ultimately the bottleneck for upgrading cards is going to be credits, not boosters. But yes don't ever buy the upgrades in the shop is the best advice.

I guess thats a weird quirk of his thing being an Ongoing ability instead of just an ability? It only applies on the battlefield

There's a difference between Discard and Destroy.

Destroy means anything that is placed already that is removed from the board.

Discard means anything that is not yet on the board that gets removed from your hand/deck.

Early on in the game this isn't huge, but I think once you get to pool 2 you start to get more Destroy and Discard cards that make it significant.

Yondu's card actually says "Remove" so it doesn't use destroy or discard. But it triggers Death's ability (which devs say is bugged) so Yondu is just weird.

Oh that's even more weird. I wonder why they don't call it Discard, unless it's meant to not be a benefit to the opponent who can get bonuses from it.

Its actually not based on whether theyre upgraded now, its based on whether or not you have 20 boosters for that card

i got him too. And Galactus, I think. Seems like they were already in the game, just not obtainable yet.

Thanos card says it adds Infinity Stones at the start of the game. If it spawns from Agent 13 or X-Mansion or whatever, that's not the start of the game, so no stones

Ben Brode on twitter says it will very likely come before the next season, but not immediately. so probably sometime next week?

I'm at 907 right now, not sure whether I can make it or not. If it costs me just the current $10 pass to hit it I'll probably be willing to spend that. More than that is probably a dealbreaker though

Just had a game where the opponent turned a location into TVA on Turn 4 and lost the game, lol.

I made a movement deck based off Lopens complaints, and I actually think theres more to it.

While the basic playstyle of move decks are the same, I dont t know if theres a deck archetype more influenced by locations. Anything that moves or prevents movement completely changes your strategy, and any that give you cards are an extra puzzle to solve as youre moving pieces around the board.

Its fun!

Also foolmo is right about the game design, I had a match where I was doing my movement and they were doing carnage/deathlok/strong man self destruction, and one location ended in a tie at 34, another was 17/18, and the last was 10/15.
