Dragon Ball Z Episode 286 complete!

Finally. The end is in sight now.

also I was wondering how long it would take everyone to realize they still had a third wish they could use!

I do love the Mr Satan moment, it sells this fight as the finale of all of Dragon Ball at least a little, even if the arc is mostly a downgrade. (and yes it's not the finale anymore I GUESS)

This Is Us Season 4 Episode 14 complete!

I remember all those old shows that would do time capsules like that. I wonder if anyone ever did them in real life and actually remembered to dig them up.

In Hollow Knight, I made it to the Distant Village and defeated Herrah the Beast, although it wasn't exactly a real fight, which I wasn't expecting.

And now I've made it to Kingdom's Edge in Hollow Knight and acquired the Dashing Slash.

I liked that place

And now I'm at the Ancient Basin.

I keep running into these barriers that are like swirling black energy, and I haven't figured out how to get through them yet. Feels like the main obstacle I have left.

Especially now that I have the improved double jump. I did discover the Palace Grounds and found a corpse the Dream Nail has no effect on. I assume this is the King of Hallownest, and he'll probably be the last boss, if I had to guess.

I also found my way to the Coliseum and completed the first trial. It's cool that they're letting you fight some of the NPCs you've met here. I even listened to that guy's entire 58 rules afterward and got nothing for it but the satisfaction of hearing them all!

The Coliseum is lots of fun. Beating the final trial there is probably the hardest thing in the game that I actually did. (The game has lots of bonus content, some of which...is very difficult and I did not do.)

Stranger Things Season 1 Episode 4 complete!

Well, that explains the body they found in the lake. I'm curious how Will has managed to survive this long when everyone else is seemingly getting killed by the monster(s).

I enjoyed the first season of Stranger Things quite a bit, but thought they dropped the ball with season two pertty hard so I've never bothered with the third.

Got both timelines up to chapter 4 in Radiant Historia. The plots picking up a bit now, and I like the timeline jumping. My main complaint is probably that the battle system, while cool for boss battles, makes random encounters somewhat tedious.

4.1 felt like a return to form IMO but yeah 1 feels like the strongest overall season.

Got through the Hive in Hollow Knight. The boss took me a few tries to beat. It didn't feel like anything important was gained here, but I'm guessing this Hiveblood item I found afterward will come in handy later.

They made a lot of renegade decisions along the way.

Yeah, they did, but you could either generally justify the decision or it was Saiyan stupidity meant to extend the arc. This one just felt...not cool in a way the others didn't.

After getting slowed down by Stranger Things, COVID, F/GO, and other stuff... but most of all my own playstyle, completed the main story of Xenoblade 1 (again.) Started up the Extra Story finally though really just enough to basically see the intro.

I'm still cautiously optimistic about Frontiers. You can never be all in on a Sonic game anymore, but I'm liking what I'm hearing from the development team and those who've been able to have hands-on experience with the early build, at least.

Obi-Wan Kenobi complete!

I think it has some of the same flaws the prequels do, but in the end, I still enjoyed it more than any of those movies. Solid finale episode.

Hmm, I won't watch the final episode until the weekend, but I feel like the prequels have very different flaws! Main weaknesses of the prequels are bad acting and dialogue. Main weakness of Kenobi is maybe that it plays it too safe? Doesn't have a lot of crazy characters or twists.

Eh, I think Obi-Wan suffers from dialogue that's too on the nose like the prequels do, too. There's not anything as absurd as what you'll find in the prequels, but there's no subtlety to it.

Mm, that's fair. Characters definitely speak their thoughts unnaturally sometimes.

In Hollow Knight, I won the second battle against Hornet, obtained the King's Brand and unlocked the Abyss, where I found the Shade Cloak. I assume this will be how I get through those swirling black barriers, so that's good.

Wow, Arch Manning committed to the wrong UT. Sad.

Found the Archives and broke another seal in Hollow Knight.

Now I found the last major area, the Queen's Garden, and I also found an item that lets me swim through acid undamaged, so that's handy.

I thought Queen's Garden was the last area for me too, but I found the hive only after trying to get other endings. It was a very cool moment to stumble upon a whole new area when I thought I had only a few things left

Well, the trophy popped for the last area with a map, at least. There's probably a minor area or two connected to a major area I haven't found yet.

And the game has multiple endings, huh?

I either didn't look at trophies or assumed the last area I was missing was some final area.

All right, broke the final seal in Hollow Knight, which means I should be able to access the area where the Hollow Knight was sealed. I don't know if going there would be the end of the game or not, but I haven't finished filling in the map for Queen's Garden yet, at the very least.

Welp, apparently the global version of FFRK is shutting down in three months.

Kinda sucks after having poured so much time (though thankfully barely any money) into it over the past year!

Will the story have an ending? Or is it the type of game where people care about the main story?

There was something of a story in a mode that ended because a lot of people didn't like it (I enjoyed it). Right now there's extremely minimal story when they introduce new types of content or have one of the quarterly festivals (like a few minute cutscene each time, maybe). The Japanese version is continuing, though, so that will have content that we'll presumably never see (JP is 6 months ahead of the global version).

The story is definitely not the draw of the game. The gameplay is actually really fun, though, with rewarding and difficult fights.

I stopped playing RK after the first year, but I enjoyed it. Surprised it went on as long as it did, 7 years is pretty good for a gacha game.

Not much, but he seems to hint at a focus on realism in the style they're going for and that it limits the disney worlds they're going to choose. Also outright calls the back cover foretellers the antagonists.And maybe Reaction Commands are coming back!

Oh nice, I opened all the Stag Stations and found the Stag Nest in Hollow Knight. That was pretty cool.

I like how a couple of these boss fights in Hollow Knight have had an NPC join me for them. I think I'm done with the Queen's Garden now, so I guess I just need to figure out what I need to wrap up before tackling what's presumably the final part of the game.

Ha, Uumuu (the jellyfish in the archives) is probably one of my least favorite bosses in the game. Admittedly not just because of the NPC thing, but yeah. Traitor Lord was good though, which I'm assuming is the one that prompted that post.

Queen's Gardens is also probably my favorite area in the game. Cool ambiance and had some of the most challenging but fun platforming and battle segments.

Yeah, Queen's Gardens is fun because it's designed with the knowledge that you'll have basically every ability in the game at this point.
