Welp got booted from the queue and now it won't even let me get to the character select screen

You know at this point I'm starting to get less worried about launch woes and more worried about what the baseline looks like after this.

Previously at normal peak hours it would be common to have to wait in a short queue with a few hundred players for 5 minutes or so. This would be like for new patches or during the WoW influx. We haven't seen what the new normal will be with both of these groups becoming regular players.

If we're still getting hour long queues when raids drop for example that would be bad. I really hope the servers can handle it.

Is the XP gained from killing mobs in dungeons added to what we get from bosses at the end or is it the same regardless?

I think its all just reallocated. The mobs don't factor in to EXP at all.

Can you complete the Mare Lamentorum Aether Currents on your first visit or do you have to come back later? I'm finished with the area for now, I think, but I'm still missing a couple.

You can do all of them. Theres a tiny bridge at the very top right of the lower map you may have missed.

First login attempt hit the dreaded position 1 in queue into disconnect, finally made it in on a second attempt.

Probably about five hours total in queues.

Just under a 5k queue to start today

It took me about 2:15 to get in yesterday with an initial 4.5k queue and losing my place once... let's see if I can manage to beat that today

I was a dumbass and updated my TT card collection; I saw some of the new cards which had implied spoilers.

Luckily I havent stumbled upon anything more explicit yet.

So I can't help but notice but in the music that plays in Thavnair when there's a crisis...the drum beats in that song have the exact same rhythm as Tunak Tunak Tun.

They announced peak hours recently. Log in outside those and you'll be good, in my experience.

Finally did the first dungeon

Man, I meant to replay FF4 before the expansion came out but didn't get around to it. My party marked Cindy to kill first which I know you had to do in FF4 or she'd revive the others; is that the case here as well?

Also the tower is kind of creepy as fuck. Very unsettling biological looking design when it absorbs the alchemist. Fandaniel's identity was one of the things I indirectly spoiled myself on with the card list (at least that that name would be relevant again). I was a little confused in that cutscene; I had thought that Xande was actually Emet, but it didn't seem like that here. Maybe I misremembered.

that's what i said! but because i'm a story-hater and said it felt like a rehash i was told "what no they're totally different because it's dark instead of light, and the reason they're transforming is different, and..."

I can't handle Answers. I was already fucked up with the quest names leading up to this. And then it drops. Now I think back to the choice at the start of the expansion. I bet a lot of people like me chose "I can't trust you anymore". I feel now that was the wrong choice.

Had to finally resort to installing and setting up an anti-afk keyboard macro after having to babysit the login queue for 3.5 hours last night. I feel like the way everything is set up really punishes people that have kids/jobs that can only play for 2-3 hours at a time, while all the unemployed 14+hour/day players are completely unaffected.
