Specifically for me and the things that bother me, the potential for pet abilities to clip or not go off meant I considered Summoner to be straight up worthless, and it may as well not have been a Job in the game before the update. It was unacceptable to me.

I really don't care how simplistic it is as long as that stuff is gone.

I'm not really loving the stealth bits so far. Still pretty early, just got to Garlemald.

I'm wondering what the new exp ratios are for dungeons and roulettes with the exp change and number squish. It feels a bit weird.

Alliance Raids in particular - they seem to be much less of a joke now that they're synced, which is good in a sense, but also since they can't be run in about the same amount of time as a leveling dungeon that could make them a lot worse value. I've done (well, attempted) two alliance raids so far and got Weeping City of Mhach and Rabanastre. Weeping City was mostly fine, no wipes but it took 30 minutes which is a bit much, that's adding like 10-15 minutes to what it was before. Rabanastre...lol. I left on the first wipe to the second boss because I'm not THAT desperate for exp when I got story to do!

It seems to vary. The trials and Normal Raids I've done for roulette have honestly seemed easier but Alliance raids were harder for sure. Dungeons are...mixed? Mobs seem to take more, bosses seem to die faster.

i think *lv82 sharlayan spoilers* there's clear potential for some sort of major plot twist with the introduction of the hidden memories thing. obviously the straightforward use is for the sharlayans to have forgotten their secret duty thing, but it's prime set up for some other character somewhere to have something super important that they've been made to forget all this time...

also, SE writers take note if you didn't do this, but the ultimate tone-setting plot device for a shocking moment would be

(lv80 sharlayan spoilers) the flower that changes colours based on emotions. the group is all happy after some event... the world has been saved, there's absolutely no reason to be concerned anymore... the flower is happy-coloured... and then all of a sudden... it turns dark for some reason. someone nearby, someone we trust... is feeling deep hatred... insert plot twist of someone revealing themselves to be a villain here, or etc

A heads up, if you're doing a sidequest where an NPC is following you, don't mount up. If they get too far behind they just stop.

Also that feel when a story character shows up wearing the same glam you've had forever and now you have to change.

Also I haven't done any optional content for anything yet (I started playing again in july and rushed through and then relaxed) but is there a way to get the yellow/black suit get up for a glam? A few people have it.

I don't know this feel, my pain is looking similar to the Archer Guildmaster, but male and/or one of the Elezen by the Moogle beast tribe quests.

This Error 2002 business is stressful as hell. I've already been kicked to the back of a 3,500 player queue once which made me basically give up on playing all of yesterday evening, and it almost happened again. I get that you have a couple of minutes to reclaim your spot but a 2 minute window during an hour plus wait where you're almost certainly going to be doing other things still sucks :(

Edit: Oh cool, this time I got an Error 4004, whatever that is, and got put back in a 2,732 queue after seeing "Players in queue: 1" for 10 minutes. I'm only trying to finish 5.5! D:

Okay so after the Error 4004 kicked me back to a 2,732 queue despite me rejoining immediately, I waited again until I was down to position 274, at which point I got an Error 2002 which actually did lose me my spot despite rejoining in less than a minute. Now in an even longer queue of 3,200. Guessing I'm just straight up not going to be able to play today, and I'm literally on the last quest of 5.5. =/

I'm kind of glad I messed my sleep schedule up and am also unemployed right now (I mean... I'd rather not be unemployed for a long list of other reasons but still, for this specific thing).

Waking up at 3 AM and basically just been staying on all day, making sure I hit a button every 30 minutes if I take breaks. I could probably set up some kind of computer macro to do it for me but eeeeh.

Queues still exist at that time on my server but they're not that bad, couple hundred at most.

Right now is like 4k queue

Um, what am I supposed to do in Strange Bedfellows? Level 83 MSQ. It says to survey designated locations and deal with enemies, which worked fine on the first one, but then on the second I mostly killed the enemy and they just disappeared, leaving me to do it over again. Not sure what the goal is there.

Edit: Oh weird, got a tooltip to pop up the third time that didn't pop up the first two. Strange.

You have an item to use on them as the quest explained.

You have to use your key item on the enemies that go down but not out, 2 of the 4 destinations.

Yeah because of the 2002 errors being SO bad during prime time it's basically impossible to get in right now. At least on aether. My friend was playing all day and got kicked because of some server or connection issue and has just been locked back out.
