This just happened to me too after getting kicked by another 2002 and it's insanely stressful since it feels like a total crapshoot whether you actually get your spot back or not. Thankfully I did this time but I still have another 900 spots to go. I've gone to 1 before getting a 4004 and losing my spot so I'm not expecting anything.

Been trying to log in all day so if it doesn't work this time I'm probably just going to say fuck it.

server issues havent been that bad for me which is kinda surprising. im just in stornblood though (which isnt very good so far)

Actually I'll say one thing, all of the level 83 story has been stellar but I can't help but laugh at Zenos coming up from the Zodiark hole and basically just going "well...THAT was awkward" and leaving. what the fuck is this guy's deal gonna be now lol

At first I thought oh no this is some lame powered up Neo Zenos, but naw it's just how he looks with the regular Reaper shroud. And then he's like "Shinryu sucked and Zodiark sucked and I want this shit to be good so let me go find something else".

I'm ALMOST expecting him to merge with Hydalen.

BTW, based on PAST expansions, what content should we expect to be in the 6.0 post game? I assume at least 1 dungeon or else they could have expert roulette, right?

Based on the past pattern there will be three dungeons, the final story dungeon and two postgame ones, for Expert Roulette. Then there will be EX versions of the two leveling trials. That'll be it for two weeks post-release at which point they release the weekly tome gear, new crafted items, and the normal tier of the 8-man raids. Savage two weeks after that.

Most likely 6.2

In X.1 it's usually just the EX version of the final story boss with no new normal mode trial. But the 24-man will start that patch.

Got to the Level 86 MSQ quests

It's been a wild ride ever since the Zodiark trial. I was not expecting the Moon segment to come BEFORE the Final Days occurred. Hell, even the fanservicey trip back to the First had a purpose. Glad they remembered that Elidibus wasn't outright killed in 5.3.

I'm also really amused that the question of "How will Ishikawa make Fandaniel and Zenos appealing villains" was answered by killing off Fandaniel at the first trial and rendering Zenos irrelevant next to whatever caused the Final Days.

It's been really impressive. Quest design leaves something to be desired, can't say I like the tailing quests and the tag-along mechanic is a bit annoying at times. Feels like they tried to overcompensate for people complaining that MSQ quests were just go here, talk to person.

So with this MI:6 document going on, I'll throw in my two cents on non spoilery things, now I'm done first dungeon.

- The music thus far hasn't impressed me much. I still kinds miss Stormblood's regular battle theme, if I'm honest. Seriously, am I playing Harvest Moon in Labyrinthos?
- It is going to take me a VERY long time to get used to Bard procs being timed instead of off of DoTs, and I apparently need to replace my Shadowbite keyboard for more accessibility.
- I know they didn't change much abilitywise in Scholar but it doesn't feel awful anymore, though it still has the ability bloat, I fear. Or maybe I'm just bad at it since I haven't played it since Stormblood.
- I need to sit down with a target dummy and figure out Summoner again.
- My Warrior feels slower and less Cleavey for some reason?
- I need to look a bit more into Fisher.
- The Magus Sisters were like playing DDR, and I have no idea wtf was going on beyond the explosions.

Imo the long queues themselves are totally understandable; it's the constant 2002 errors that make logging in so obnoxious.

Class act! I definitely agree the queues wouldn't be so horrible by themselves if there wasn't a constant risk of having to go to the back of the line. At least once you do get in it's a perfectly smooth experience.

Finally got to play a bit, and I'm officially in EW content, woo!

It's just hard to figure out in the moment in some cases, but once you know you know.

Are the login issues mainly just late day/night?

I did have the 3900 queue Friday night around midnight, but between 10-11am yesterday and just now it was under 50.

East coast advantage I guess.

It depends on the server but yeah according to that post the biggest problem times are between 3PM and 1AM Eastern for NA.

I'd say ShB was like this too, those lightwardens could be pretty gnarly for dungeon bosses. And while I think the 83 boss is gnarlier than Titania, I've heard a fair share of horror stories of people trying and failing to beat her at release.

Titania's main issue was it being the gatekeeper fight for the expansion. It got better as gear improved but even now you'll still struggle through it if you have two or more newbies, and back when ShB launched there were usually seven.

It made good, quick tank trial roulette exp but oh GOD did it suck to try to explain to people what was going on. I modified the wiping lyrics for What Angel Wakes Me for a reason.

Said a lot that Savage didn't actually add that many extra mechanics beyond more mist circles, vine tethers, and the knockback dance during giants.

i've heard it's easy to get in in the morning EST yeah. gets worse starting around noon

Slowly realizing I'm not going to be able to beat this for like two weeks because logging in during weekdays will be completely impossible on a normal work schedule and I'm going to be out of town next weekend and was banking on being able to rush the expac before then.

Yikes last two days it wasn't that bad around noon (1.5k or so) but I took a break to make lunch and came back to a 4.4k queue

yeah i've been getting mostly lucky around noon time, which is good since i've been staying up all night and can't really wake up earlier than that

today i started at 2400 around 12:30pm est, down to 800 now with a few 2002 errors along the way, luckily it saved my spot

this may help me develop good habits though

i'm the type who does not get out of bed, hits snooze multiple times, etc

but the today and yesterday i've bolted out of bed the moment i realize i'm conscious XD

i've heard what those late afternoon queues are like and i don't want it

My queue was 4800 at 12:30 est. On Cactuar. Aether is completely fucked.

I have to go into work for an hour or two today so I'm literally having my fiancee look after the queue to make sure it logs in. Even then there's no guarantee it works and I get in today. Yesterday I had to babysit her game to keep her logged in while she stepped out to run an errand and get us lunch. These are the forbidden strats for progging login queue (Savage).
