i couldn't sleep at all last night so i stayed up to 4, got in around 6, finished the first area by around 11am and just couldn't stay awake any longer, napped until like 3pm and got back in after just a 500 queue then luckily

and yes it took that long because i've been forcing myself to watch cutscenes -_-

Anyone know if they implemented fishing intuition progress persisting beyond logout yet? If not thats really gonna suck for me unless those changes are temporary...

(Actually it could suck regardless since for Steth you sometimes want to hold the prereq catch as a collectible until the next window, which could take like half a day)

Someone was saying something about fishing but I was only glancing. I actually turned off the public chat when someone asked "has anyone finished the story yet?"

But if it was in any way, shape, or form preventing auto logout its almost certainly gone.

Some ways that I know worked pre-EW were opening the HUD editor or being in the middle of crafting something.

And to be clear I'm only going off what I read in chat, I don't even know what the tricks were to begin with.

I mean that's botting which is against the TOS, but I'm sure that would work. I believe we are referring to the ingame tricks such as crafting, settings menu, retainer bell, those sort of things.

i'm probably not going to do it but my static leader posted an autohotkey script for it that they're using so i'm curious

No idea. I've seen enough gilbots and know crafting bots are a thing so I would assume their detection methods are trash. I don't know if that has changed with them cracking down on AFK players or not.

Played a bit this evening. Had 2,777 in the queue and it took about an hour. After that very stable.

Estinien is amazing in this expansion. I love the choice of narrator. The Bard changes make sense to me. I just got to Labyrinthos and feel like things are just about to get started now.

If I can't get in tonight that just means I get to catch up on streamers. I'm going to avoid Twitter by any mean necessary. I'm going hard on MSQ tomorrow as well, not even any blue quests (unless flying is unlockable on the first visit to the area).

I used to afk in an inn with a macro that would jump and move forward a few steps on repeat.

Never got booted.

Wonder if being in instanced content is a factor.

A few quests into Labyrinthos (theorizing about what the Sharlayans are up to):

I suspected this basically from the start of the zone, but Im now all but positive that the secret plan is for the Sharlayans to escape to the moon (not sure if they already hinted at how we were gonna get there in any of the prerelease materials since Ive mostly avoided stuff outside of the trailers since fanfest)

I get that the devs are very happy with their cool NPC companion tech but I wish they wouldn't also use it to implement some of the most cursed quest types in modern video gaming such as "follow an NPC who moves more slowly than you for five minutes" and "the same thing except also stealth"

I will praise the hell out of (labyrinthos) toad quest though that one was great

So I tried some new Summoner and uh

Wow this job needs... *something*. It does not feel like a complete job currently. It either needs like 2 more OGCDs (maybe that change with the phases) or some kind of additional mechanics inside of the summon phases or... I dunno.

It just feels really, really bare to play currently.

I hope it gets some work on it during the patch cycle, because aesthetically and job fantasy wise its never been better.

I've only got one major issue with this expansion so far.

Fandaniel's Amon VA is waaaaay worse than the Asahi VA.

well if you're below level 86 you're missing the most important ability for adding extra buttons to the summon phases

i'm not 86 either so i'm waiting until then to fully judge

i know some people who are absolutely in love with it as it is now. even below 86. and i mean, like, hardcore orange parsing raiders lol who i expected to also feel it was too simple.
