I am glad that this trilogy has lasted and come to the future generations but how long can a series with dated special effects appeal to younger generations with zero new content. nothing Star Wars has come out since the return of the Jedi (not counting repackaging). its a great story and very well written trilogy following the formula of the heroes journey almost to a T. there arent many other trilogies out there that can compete with it or be as popular but it will only last so long if they dont make something viable and interesting besides video game spin offs. He had a single vague idea cobbled together from some pretty clear influences that got turned into a nearly unparalleled success by the geniuses around him and then he sleepwalked through a bunch of garbage sequels and sold it all off for billions of dollars. Star Wars is one revolutionary movie, a few very good movies, and a heap of absolute trash and embarrassing merchandise and Disney will probably still choke the life out of it even after trying to restrain themselves. Same with Star Wars day, aside from the obligatory SW sales in various digital storefronts (which are either beneficial or easy to ignore, depending on how interested in buying the products one is).
