Cant stress enough how much having gatherers leveled helps leveling crafters.

I'm doing the level 60 Goldsmith quest literally right now and it was going to cost me either 120k to buy the 2 items outright or about 80k to buy the materials. Instead I can mine almost everything here and spend less than 10k.

I was so mad about that one because I spent the time doing all the gathering for said music boxes for my house, only to nees to give them up for the quest.

I'm definitely questioning my decision to go Goldsmith just because it seems like it's the most expensive of the metal crafting jobs to level up, even if you do go out of your way to maximize your gathering.

Payoff will be good though, since I'll be able to put out both accessories from it and visible gear from Weaver. Accessories tend to go for a lot more than Armor on the board, at least on my server. It's also the last category I have left in Crystarium Mean, so I'll be able to take a DoHL break after that. White Mage just hit 50 so it's going to be a much speedier assent from here to 80/my last role quest (getting Samurai to cap won't matter until Endwalker, so not in a rush)

I was kind of hoping I'd encounter some Godbert scenes at some point, but looks like that may be a dud lol.

Expensive lesson for me: don't neglect to check how often an expensive craft is selling before making it just because of an apparent large profit

I made a Frontier Jacket like two days ago for maybe 1.6M in mats when it was being sold for about 2.5M. Now because of idiots repeatedly undercutting by like 50k each time it's already down to like 1.8M!

New worst dungeon experience in Amurot.

I knew things were gonna be bad when the Bard didn't move for 30 seconds and then exclaimed that he was hitting his bowl real quick and then proceeded to ask the Viera WHM if she was single.

He then proceeded to do, from what I can tell, less than half the DPS I was doing as Dancer throughout the entire dungeon. We failed both DPS checks once, counting the time limit on the last boss as one.

Was this one of the fabled Road to 80 buyers, or was he just that high? We may never know.

As Ushiro said, the final MSQ dungeon in Shadowbringers has two of them -- one of the second boss, and a "soft" one for the third boss where you'll eventually run out of safe spaces to move.

Technically the DPS check at the end isn't a TRUE DPS check, because the attack you get hit with when you can't dodge anymore isn't an actual auto wipe. Tanks can survive with mitigation to clutch, which is what happened on the second attempt last night..

Speaking of, if I were that Tank I would have ALSO immedietly quit out literally the instant the fight was over before I even had time to open the commendation window. You know it's rough when they use the duty menu to quit instead of the teleporter 5 feet in from of them because that would take too long, lol.

Yeah Mining and Botany are very simple. Fishing is much more work lol, though with Ocean Fishing you don't have to actually engage with the mechanics at all during the leveling process.

A few weeks ago I had a levelling roulette 'experience' in The Aery where we wiped 4 times on Nidhogg's enrage before the WHM, who had been gradually losing her mind over the hour we were in there, announced that she couldn't take it any longer and left.

For context, along with me and her there were sprout WAR and DRG (who I strongly suspect were queued together) who I was amazed had gotten has far as this playing as they were. The tank wasn't too bad, but they never used their AoE once, and would attack each mob individually to get aggro on it. I tried gently pointing out to him that something like Overpower and Mythril Tempest would be more efficient, but it went ignored. It was just as well that he was going a single pack at a time, because me and the healer would constantly pick up aggro.

The Dragoon though... man. He was every single cliche of bad DPS (apart from flaming in chat anyway. Both were silent the entire dungeon apart from the DRG asking for a raise during our 4th final boss attempt.) Given how little damage he was doing I don't think he was using anything except his basic combo, other than using LB1 immediately every, single, time it came up. He wouldn't move out of AoE's so the healer was constantly babysitting him, including the Scarlet Prices, which you can't outheal without Benediction, so he was constantly dropping there. Since DPS was proving to be an issue, I begged him not to waste our limit break so it could be used during the add phase, but nope.

So tl;dr, yes you can very easily die to enrage mechanics on normal difficulty content if half the players refuse to listen and refuse to learn.

One of my Paradigm runs we had a ranged DPS who used LB1 every time it came up. That takes balls to do in an Alliance, lol. We never wiped that run at all though so it wasn't a big deal.

Alliances can't go where you pointed because that enemy list can actually go all the way down. They take up barely any space moving above party health, though, and it will make L1+ D-pad snapping a lot easier to eyeball when another alliance is down both healers. I wish I could orient those vertically.

Off-centered the cross hotbar and I also moved the cooldowns bar to the right of it in a 2x6 instead of the 1x12 above.

Btw the reason I can tell that you need to do this is that the equipment circles for your gear to the left of the inventory circles change from green to white when an item is fully spiritbonded

Thankfully everything below max Materia is sold dirt cheap so it's not like I was missing out there, and poetics gear has no slots. Still, good to know I was missing such a basic mechanic.

Does enmity even matter anymore? It takes effort to lose it if you have tank stance on.

Tons of bosses have spawning adds to make sure you grab, and especially just mobs in dungeons in general.

Yeah its less about making sure you have it on single targets and more about keeping track of new enemies or if you missed something with your AoE or such in dungeons.

I did once steal enmity from a single target boss as RDM while the Paladin was on Tank stance. No idea what happened there.

I'm enjoying healing much more than tanking, which I did not expect at all going in. Honestly I was dreading it. I guess I'm just way more comfortable with being responsible for keeping health bars up than I am with being responsible for pace and positioning? I never stopped being stressed about tanking (yet), but I'm already over being stressed about healing.

I was supposed to go to sleep almost an hour ago, and instead I ran trial roulette as White Mage 5 times in a row for no tangible reward just for shits.
