Just watched both episodes of 86. It's really good so far. The second episode had some actual combat in it and it was pretty awesome. That's 2 shows today that surprised me. A lot more excited about this season now.

On season 2 of my Log Horizon rewatch. Still playing BotW too. Liking it, but I definitely see room for improvements. Only did one divine beast so far, but I'm up to 8 hearts and have an extra stamina wheel. Gonna try to make it to where I think the goron village is next.

Combatants is really growing on me. The first episode was pretty trash but after everything got set up it's been a lot better. I like how Alice uses the awful nicknames Six comes up with. The konosuba author is really good at making that sort of "you suck but so do I and we are friends" kind of dynamic that is really fun to watch. Other authors need to steal that.

Wow, watched the first episode of nomad (season 2 of megalo box). I didn't really like the first season all that much so I was slow to try this one. The first episode was amazing IMO. I'm a lot more invested here. I only hope it doesn't swap to being super up beat and happy in a few episodes.

Watched episodes 2 and 3 of megalo box and the newest episode of full dive rpg. Megalo box S2 continues to be pretty good although i feel like the first episode was the best. Full dive continues to skirt the line of watchable. This episode especially got annoying with main guy continually being surprised about their attention to realism. Like bro, it's episode 3, you already know the game is like this.

Downloading Memoria Freese again so I can have access to the character gallery. The recent Strike the Blood crossover event gave me the idea.

Otherwise, still working on 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Sa Ga Frontier Remastered. I had forgotten how batshit crazy the latter game is.

Also, do you guys have any Switch games you'd recommend? I've got BotW and Animal Crossing. Looking at Rune Factory 4 right now. Would take Mario Odyssey, but it's still pricey as hell. Want Xenoblade 2, but the cheapest I've seen is like $80 on ebay unfortunately.

rf4 is easily the best harvest moon-style game if u haven't played it before (if you have, the additions are minimal, but there's a pretty good chance u like it enough to pay another $40)

gnosia is REALLY fucking good; its basically a visual novel but with heavy unique gameplay elements centered around the rules of mafia/werewolf. i'm pretty sure you'd enjoy it enough for its price ($25) considering ur into anime shit bout as much as i am

i bought story of seasons: pioneers of olive town and tbh... i'd recommend fomt (played on pc) over it. i feel pretty aimless only about 10 hours in

bought hyrule warriors: age of calamity..... wouldn't really rec it unless you reeeeeeeally liked botw. its aight but it feels like its not a warriors game at all

got xenoblade 2, probably 20% thru it.... could be worth it? ive stopped playing it as much but i think i could reclaim the $60 price tag.... as of now it feels mostly vapid though

smash is a pretty easy rec if you liked any previous smash (admit it. u did). its fun, and it loads pretty fast after the inital like 1m load time

I still haven't seen the anime Junji Ito Collection, but it got terrible reviews and most people I talked to panned it. I've been a fan of his manga for years, though.

And I wish Funko would instead do Mystery Minis for Junji Ito's stuff. Even if they referenced a character I liked more -- like Mimi from Mimi's Ghost Stories -- the Pop! would still be meh.

For switch games, xenoblade games are worth the money IMO, monster hunter rise and gu are great, 3 houses is ok, astral chain is fine, smash is smash, mario kart 8 is fun.

Never played a Rune Factory, so I'll probably pick up 4. Have Xeno for Wii, so I'll hold off on the remaster for now. Do want 2 and will get it if I can find it for a reasonable price.

Started watching Vivy once I learned it was not a musical idol show and is in fact a sci-fi action show. It's pretty good. Vivy visually reminds me of suisei and they are both good at singing, maybe suisei was an AI this whole time.

However, it is kind of hard to overlook some of the dumb parts of the premise. Like the single mission concept for AI is just...no. Then matsumoto's plan clearly ignores the cause of the war in the first place. The individual inciting incidents are obviously unimportant and will just be replaced by other ones.

Also jesus why is there no surveilance for the first ever autonomous AI? Wouldn't that be like a multinational science project monitored closely at all times? Meanwhile she is just chillin at an amusement park. How did the bomb ever end up in the trash can if even non security AI can see it from like 100 meters away through objects? Basically, how the hell does everyone have so much privacy?

Oh well, I try to look past these things as best I can.

I should pay more attention to new releases. I don't even notice when a series I like gets an anime, like High Rise Invasion. Did anyone check that out? Sniper Mask is one of the coolest mofos around.

I had no idea that High Rise Invasion existed until you mentioned it, and I had to look it up to see why I had spotted no news of it: It went to Netflix. Saved it to my list for another day, so thank you for that.

How Sa Ga Frontier plays depends on the character you pick. The Red (i.e. superhero) route takes a little while to open up, and it does not tell you that you need to grind as Red in order to build up your stats as Alkaiser. I am currently playing the same route, and I have to fight the temptation to advance the plot until I have assembled a good party, good gear, good skills, etc., lest I get rocked by the next boss.

In other news, I started reading the Invaders of the Rokujouma (the spelling varies) light novels. Those are digital exclusives in the U.S. (via Kindle), but there are 38 (!) of them, so there is plenty of content there. I still like the anime, and it makes sense to get into the source material.

Finished up with Log Horizon finally. First season was the best imo, took me a while to get through since I started losing interest in s2. Maybe, maybe not would I watch more if it came out. Wouldn't do a rewatch again though.

Starting on Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi now. On ep2 and did he just dick slap Flare lmao? Show seems like it's gonna be brutal the whole way. Kind of was disappointed in Goblin Slayer how it wasn't very brutal after the first ep.

Ordered Rune Factory 4, but they haven't sent it yet. Debating between Fire Emblem 3 houses and Mario Odyssey right now. Kind of leaning towards Fire Emblem, since I figure Mario will be easier to find down the road.

Started reading Re:Zero light novel from the beginning. Volume one is pretty spot on with the episodes besides the order of some minor stuff.

Volume 2 is good.

Finished up Redo of Healer. It was quite fun, but I understand it won't be for everyone. Hope they do more of it eventually, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Also watched the Demon Slayer movie, which was good and can't wait for the next season. Not sure what to watch next. Options are:

Yakusoku no Neverland 2nd Season - wonder why this is rated so much lower than the first season

Horimiya - not sure if I'm quite in the mood for this type of show, but do want to get around to it

Dr. Stone: Stone Wars - leaning towards this, but not sure if I want to rewatch s1 or not

Wonder Egg Priority - fantasy setting is always nice

Beastars 2nd Season - probably won't rewatch s1, but want to watch this, first season was interesting even if it felt like furry bait

Kemono Jihen - no expectations from this, but could be interesting

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun - another romance show, but this one is drama rather than comedy

So, I've got 7 shows to choose from, which is nice, hopefully they last me for a while.

I found that I didnt really enjoy DS s2 as much because the element of discovery was gone.
They were just like "we made this thing off-screen", its cool right? I loved them going out and finding the materials and learning how to build stuff in the 1st season.

Had a go at the third Danmachi OAV on Hidive. (The author of the LNs has stated that he is not a fan of any of the OAVs.) Nothing but fan service, as expected, but the creators had the grace to have it center upon secondary characters (e.g. Airmid, Naaza, Daphne, Cassandra, etc.), rather than the main cast.

theres a bit of drama, but at least it's never about anything serious because the main couple pair up very early on and are pretty unshakable

It was pretty good. Gonna go for Dr Stone s2 next, then Kemono after that. I ended up quitting Granblue. Just tired of the disappointing updates and nasty grinds.

Finished FLCL Progressive. It was okay for what it was; it wasn't as great or have nearly as much re-watch value as the original (you could watch that show a hundred times and get something new from it every time), but very few things do reach that level.

One thing I didn't care for is that IMO, they went in with a fundamental misunderstanding about Raharu and Atomsk. There was a point in the original series where Amarao said that Haruko was in love with Atomsk. While that's not definitively proven false, it's highly likely that he was either mistaken or lying. For one thing, it was coming from a very bitter person who was scorned by Raharu in the past, who let that trauma mold his entire adult life. And when Naota absorbed Atomsk's power, the way Haruko completely dropped her cuckoolander persona and furiously stated that that power belonged to her, strongly suggests that that's all she ever cared about.

But Progressive just heard "she's in love with him" and ran across the field with it. OP top of being 30 percent less wacky, seeing her act all gaga over some space bird felt very out of character.
