I mean Mob Psycho's 2nd season finished off the story pretty well.

And One Punch Man doesnt have a 3rd season because the big disappointment hit when studio Madhouse wasnt animating the 2nd season.

Fell a little behind in my anime. I'm still surprised blue reflection ray is rated so low. My only real complaint is the occasional battles are pretty lame (which is odd for something based on a game) but everything else is pretty good I feel like.

Also caught up on nagatoro and it's a lot better than I initially thought.

Saint continues to be good.

Combatant is still solid despite it's bad first episode.

86 and your eternity continue to be great although eternity definitely had a stronger first episode than the follow ups but it's still quite good. In 86 I'm sad we haven't gotten anymore battle scenes, the one in episode 2 was awesome so I'm hoping they bust out another soon.

Despite my initial disdain, it's quite a strong season. This is looking to be the strongest year for anime in recent memory.

Some of these Detective Conan stories are more obvious than I remembered. I didn't remember the story in #55-57 (?) at all, but I called the twist right away. (As soon as the guy who answered the door talked about his younger brother coming home soon.)

Finished up s2 of Dr. Stone. Looking forward to s3 whenever it comes out. S1 definitely had a different pace than s2. S2 took a while to grow on me, but I liked some of the characters that were added.

TWEWY is 110% Nomura. I have the DS version, but it takes up a space on the shelf, no more.

And seeing fanart for Xenogears reminds me that the game is still up on the PS3 / Vita version of the PSN Store. Might have to pick that up (... despite still have my PS1 release).

I have Raging Loop here, Switch version. Still need to play it.

Highlight for me today is that I managed to get a program working that will run my physical Sega CD games, so I have been diving back into Shining Force CD. Great game.

I played like half of xenogears a few years back. It was ok. Probably would have been amazing to me when it was new but I kinda feel like it's an inferior prototype of xenoblade X now.

Been falling a bit behind on my anime again because I got nier replicant. I forgot how absurdly grindy nier is for basically no reason. I played part 1 back when it was just "nier" on the 360 but this time I intend to 100% it.

The difference between geshtalt and replicant is so weird. I kinda wish more games would do that for enhanced versions. It's basically the same exact game but the main character is swapped out for a younger one. Imagine if FF12 zodiac age just completely replaced vaan with an actually good character.

Finished up Kemono Jihen. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad at all though. I'd watch more if they made more. Gonna go for Wonder Egg next.

Yeah I was vaguely aware of that, but I still wish they'd do it for remasters and the like. Idk, most people would probably dislike it but it seems like a nice way to keep the same old story fresh.

So, I beat up Ganon in BotW. Gonna play some Animal Crossing next. My Switch library is up to 4 games so far(BotW, AC Horizon, RF4, and Odyssey), but I don't think I'll be adding to it any time soon, but there's several I still want.

Started on Wonder Egg as well. Seems interesting so far, no idea if it's gonna be kind of upbeat, or just go down a dark path part way through.

Falling even further behind in the anime season but just caught up on 300 years witch. I wish every season had something like this. Relaxed comedy that's basically a light yuri harem. It's not especially good, but it doesn't need to be.

Also watched the latest episode of to your eternity. Despite being a sad episode, it didn't hit nearly as hard as the first episode. It actually reminds me of nier replicant that I'm playing now in that the default outcome is the saddest one, but that just makes you not emotionally invest because you know it's coming. There's no shock in the sadness so it ends up just making me feel distanced from it.

this shit is incredible. the SAME schtick is pulled, constantly (mia's gluttonous or lazy intentions get misconstrued as part of some kind of master plan of a genius by people far more competent than her, and she's too much of a coward to go against their expectations of her), but it never seems to get old

Kinda reminds me of the "Roy" game from Rick and Morty, except without the running into a truck and dying part.

never watched or read it, but sounds pretty similar

mc of tearmoon has knowledge of her past life where she died mainly due to conspiracies (she was pretty dumb but she didn't deserve the death she got because she eventually tried really hard to be better, and everything before that point was just her being extremely sheltered and pampered), and in her second life randomly and accurately predicts a couple of things and tries specifically to avert just those things... which makes the smarter people around her believe she's a genius

in volume 3 the main conflict so far (her empire declining 5 years from now and her facing the guillotine) is no longer a threat but her granddaughter travels back in time and gives her another source of foreknowledge (which she adheres to religiously, because... she's lived through something similar) (spoilers but if you'll never read it who cares)

she has weirdly good luck, but mostly in that every irrational action she takes inspires the people around her to follow her and become better. she accomplishes literally nothing by herself

They mentioned that they recorded this song all the way back in October, and it kinda shows. Ina and especially Ame definitely sing a lot better now than back then when they recorded this.

Still a cute song, but I am more excited about comparing this to their recent growth in singing skills, and looking forward to a song where they can truly show those off.

I continue to be surprised by how much I like the nagatoro anime. Nagatoro's willingness to take embarrassment and just plow through it is endearing. I'm also surprised that I really wish there were more generic highschool comedy harem anime. I feel like it used to be oversaturated but now we don't actually get very many. Probably my favorite kind of anime to relax to, when I'm not in the mood for iyashikei anyway.

Continuing my journey into LNs. Got a good deal on Volume 1 of In Another World With My Smartphone. Not as long a series as Invaders of the Rokujouma, but it still has a ton of substance at 22 volumes.

Also received my package from Right Stuf today. All caught on the Monster Musume and Trinity Seven manga, plus the only volume of Gundam Ecole du Ciel that I was missing. Unfortunately, EDC has the same issue that many old Tokyopop manga have: The U.S. release was never finished. Still, at $5.99 U.S., still a good deal for being out of print.

Smartphone is a very meaty and pretty good series... with an absolutely absurd number of characters. According to this handy tracker that reminds you who you're supposed to know on a volume by volume basis, as of volume 22, there are 424 characters.

Like 20 characters get introduced per volume, and they keep staying relevant somehow. It's honestly really hard to keep track of without a website like this. I think I read up to about 8 or 9?

Also I follow the translator on twitter, he's pretty cool. Same guy also translated Infinite Dendrogram, which is also fairly long.
