The anime. I'm not looking for like a ton of depth, but every character is a one note gimmick and it just stops being funny before 12 episodes are up. The only character with even a smidgen of personality beyond their gimmick is the one with the mythril arm. Belt girl just talks about lloyd and nothing else all the time forever. Farmer guy only talks about farming. Punchy girl only talks about "master i will marry you, teach me your ways". Axe guy is like the girl but not trying to marry him. Alka is just trying to get with lloyd. Even the bad guys only ever talk about lloyd.

Comparing it to one punch man does one punch man a disservice because those characters actually do have some depth. They consist of at least a little bit more than 1 gag repeated endlessly, even if they do have gags they repeat, like everything dying in one punch. I'm not looking for crazy depth but at least come up with some new jokes here and there.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting much from the show, but it wasn't good. Just felt lacking. Wasn't awful, but not something I'd be looking to watching more of.

I've got two eps of Urasekai Picnic left, then I can jump to something else, which will probably be the second part of Re Zero s2.

Horimiya definitely went under the radar this season. Very underrated romcom, with a generally likable cast. I don't see it being better than Toradora, but it was a comfy experience.

Finished up jujutsu. I think it's the 2nd best show I watched this season although horimiya is also really good. The fight in this last episode looked awesome. They do a great job with the flow and impact. Hard hits feel hard and fast movement feels fast without any of that disappearing flash step style nonsense.

Yeah I love jujutsu kaisens animation, the design of the characters and how stylish they look and dress. The story is always good and everything feels like it's impactful.

Guess I'm still not watching AoT yet. Getting a final season part 2. Oh well, I don't mind waiting too much. Gonna have a good bit of it to watch when it's finally done though at least. Will just do a full rewatch of what I've seen.

I have no evidence of this whatsoever but with the videos returning at the same time as she's returning I almost feel like Haachama's absence was actually her going on strike in protest of Hololive making her take her horror story videos down (and to stop making them) after creating a new rule specifically in reaction to her horror story videos.

Zeke's plan is stupid. I guess he has some internalized racism but it's just so dumb. He could do anything and he chooses sterilization as his final plan. It would have been better if his plan was to awaken the wall titans and push the island farther away.

Retro Crush picked up Psycho Armor Govarian (i.e. Space Mazinger), so I decided to bite the bullet and drop the $50 U.S. for a year-long premium subscription (first month is free, too, so ... a year and a month, then). So how essential is the DLC for Atelier Ryza?

The first game is on sale on the eshop for #30 right now, but the DLC season pass is still like $45!

I've always been interested in the game and the sale would be a good chance to finally try it out.

I want to watch new anime but nothing I want to watch starts till tomorrow. Maybe I'll watch the first episode of shaman king since it's out but not really expecting to like it. Seems like it will be more focused around the parts of shonen I don't like.

Finished up bottom tier character tomozaki. I liked it more than I expected to. For me it kind of feels like an amateur writer with some talent made it. Like, parts are very cringey and dumb, but theres also some pretty good parts mixed in. It's hard to really call the show good, but I still enjoyed it. As for the actual ending, it kind of felt like the author didn't really know how to wrap things up in that arc so he sort of wasted a decent set up. Oh well. Now only horimiya remains and then this season will be finished.

Shaman King is one of those series where I'm not sure whether or not I like it. Something about the anime didn't hook me at the beginning, but I've seen bits and pieces of it which seem alright. Then I read the first volume of the manga and... well, I wasn't terribly impressed one way or the other.

And I'm kinda in the same boat where I haven't started anything new lately.

Been watching Jujutsu, it's pretty fun. Really want more Slime and Mushoku already, thankfully they're making some at least. Should still have several things from last season to watch too. :D End of the anime season is my favorite time. Beat a boss in BotW. Really need to find out if I have a Nintendo account or not from my Wii.

I tried to watch the first episode of the new shaman king anime but it's just too awful. Literally upon the first second of the anime I see that old dudes hair and I already know I'm gonna hate it. Tried to give it a fair shot but the main characters look weird and are annoying, the fighting looks super lame especially after the somewhat similar jujutsu kaisen looking so awesome. Unwatchable for me.

I still need to finish horimiya but im more in the mood to watch action. Oh well.

I finished up horimiya. That final episode was pretty powerful for me. Really felt like saying goodbye to that part of their lives with all the uncertainty and sentimentality that comes with it.

The last half of the show in general though was a bit all over the place. Apparently they adapted 15 volumes (not chapters) into 13 episodes so they just skipped massive chunks of the story. Basically the start of every episode had me wondering if I'd skipped an episode. Definitely a shame given how good it is but it does make me glad they were able to end on such a strong note and give closure to the characters.

They did something similar to Sing Yesterday for Me last year. 11 Volumes and 12 episodes. There has been some talk (there's always some talk) about a second season of the Watamote Anime, but there's 19 volumes of that (Chapter 190 comes out this week), and the Anime took place over the first 4. I just don't think it would work when current anime seems to abridge 1 Volume = 1 Episode. Seems like a lot of these adaptations are condensing a lot of content and leaving the viewer wanting more.

But I did really enjoy Horimiya as well.

Eh, I feel like watamote has better precedent. It's already had a successful season with moderate pacing so it's not such a gamble. I'd be happy to watch more of that. I enjoyed the first season despite the painful levels of awkwardness but apparently it's end up being yuri or at least yuribait and that sounds fuckin awesome to me.

I wouldn't call it Yuribait, but it definitely uses it all female cast to its advantage. We're at the point where all major characters could effectively be shipped with each other, and Watamote does not have a small cast by any means. Also the past few chapters haven't even been about Tomoko, as the authors have been putting a lot of time into some minor character development.

Well I ascended to Heaven because JoJo's Part 6 anime just got announced at long last. So hyped to see it on screen because I read the manga and it was great

Watched episode 1 of combatants the new anime that is adapting one of konosuba author's previous works. So far I'm pretty disappointed. The pacing was way too fast, the jokes were hit or miss but mostly miss, and none of the characters seem likeable. It's almost hard to believe this is by the same author.

Still, it's just episode 1 that was mostly spent on set up and introduction. Perhaps now that things have been established it'll hit better next time. I really want to give it the benefit of the doubt because of how much I like konosuba. Guess I'll just have to see.

Watched episode 1 of full dive. It was ok. I'll probably continue watching it for now but it doesn't seem great really. So far this season is a massive let down. Theres still some things I'm waiting to start airing but man, so far this sucks.

Seems like my whole city is cleaned out of Nintendo Switches. I can't find any at all, much less an older model that can be hacked. I saw other people searching too; I should have gone for it before the stimulus went out, or even before Christmas.
