If you didn't know, Hololive is a japanese Idol/Virtual Entertainment Company.

Amelia Watson is from the recently added Hololive EN branch of virtual idols.

Vtubers are basically streamers that use an anime avatar while streaming and usually have a set personality, background, and lore to go along with their avatar.

Simping for a virtual girl makes the whole thing even weirder >_>

pso2 has had a shitload of collabs including re:zero, fate/stay night (mother fuckin gilgamesh and archer costumes+voices!!!), trails of cold steel, persona, nanoha, danmachi, evangelion (had a little mission where you fought one of those angel things), sakura taisen, tales games, muvluv, fairy fail, legend of the galactic heroes....

that's probably less than a fifth of their total number of collabs, its ridiculous

Simping is a criticism of men, not women -- I'm not sure if you're also trying to suggest that they aren't real men or something, I don't know where you were going with that. And given the weirdness of your remark, I'm not sure it's a pun, a brilliant satire of what one of the fanboys might say, or just a legitimate, weird, misguided defense of what amounts to a cartoon character that overlooks the real fault is being found with the fans of said cartoon character. I hope max level witch goes on for 100 more seasons. It is the closest to yuri harem we have yet. I mean, I guess it IS a yuri harem, just pretty light hearted about it. Then next season we get probably the other closest thing with villainess's bi harem. One day I'll get the true yuri ecchi harem I desire.

Last night I got to the Detective Conan story where Moore/Mouri has a reunion with his university judo squad and... wtf, he's supposed to only be about 38 years old? >_>

I always assumed he was older from how he was presented and looks, but his former classmates are all 37/38. I would have guessed he was in his mid-40s, maybe 50s. However, if Rachel/Ran is supposed to only be 15-16, he would have had her right after college... but that kinda doesn't make a lot of sense because her mom is a lawyer so she probably would have finished law school before having a kid. Meh.

I know that Jimmy's mom was on the younger side when she had him, though, (which I think was referenced in an earlier) and I seem to recall from a later case that Moore, his ex-wife, and Jimmy's mom all went to either high school or college together (where he cast the deciding vote in a beauty contest in Jimmy's mom's favor instead of voting for ex-wife)

I think I remember who gets murdered in this case (because it's a weirder death and it's used to obscure the time of death) and how it happens, but I can't remember the culprit.

Picked up Petit Novel: Harvest December for 3DS. On sale for $5.99 U.S. Hard to believe that 3DS has any VNs at all, especially this late in the life of the system, but there it is.

i started the game up, because it said it was ready to play despite only having 26gb of 80 downloaded. so i could just go to the main menu, and it's all changed for NG, and if you go to actually log in, all the ships are under maintenance.

so i think that the date they provided was the japan timezone, which means it would come out today after maintenance

capcom does the same thing with monster hunter updates. the times they provide are japans timezone so when they say an update will come out, it comes out, in america, around a day earlier

That's by Circle Entertainment, a small publisher that does a lot of games on Nintendo systems. I was a big fan of most of their 3DS games (I don't pay much attention to them lately since I don't have a Switch or Wii U), but one thing to note is that they're a Chinese company translating Japanese games into English. As such almost all of their games have some mistranslations or broken English here or there, and a full on visual novel is gonna have a good amount of it.

I mean, probably, but it was pretty sudden without any significant new development with the chinese stuff. Her voice was gone by the time she even started the surprise stream so it kinda seems like something that came up today or I can't see why she wouldn't wait until her voice was back to normal. Oh well, I'm sure specifics will probably surface anyway.

Retiring. Not completely sure why they phrase it that way but thats just how it is in the vtuber space. On youtube's streaming, she is generally the top earner on the entire site and has been for quite a while so I guess it's pretty big news.

Most likely over the mental stress of the relentless harassment she and anyone she ever collaborates with recieves from chinese ultranationalists that got very upset that while reading her youtube subscribers by region, read the listing for taiwan one time a year ago.

Finished up Jaku Chara, so now I'm mostly out of anime from last season. Still have Neverland s2, but saving it until I'm desperate for something to watch, or just feel like it. Not sure what I'm watching next though. Maybe I'll watch some live action stuff and take an anime break until the season ends.

she probably kept at it for so long because she's invested a lot of time and energy into her job while protecting others that were a lot less tough than she is

It sounds very much like she wasn't forced to quit. Supposedly several other members had tried to talk her out of quitting which doesn't seem like something they'd do if she didn't have the option to stay. Her channel isn't going down and other members will still be able to talk about her. Seems very much like either the stress was just too much, or she had some other real life thing that caused her to want to leave.

It wasn't too hard to see coming. She broke down on steam a few months back and recently had been talking about how difficult it was to stay positive and just a lot of small things here and there.

On the anime front I'm almost done with yashahime. I kind of regret watching it. It's so mediocre. Nothing about it is truly bad except the fighting but theres just not much substance there either.

Not to mention she was the one who pushed to make Hololive EN.

Safe to say without her Hololive wouldn't be as big as it is now.

Now while her leaving is really sad, that's a damn fine legacy to leave on.

Hopefully this won't be the last time we'll hear from her. She has stated in the past that her original goal for applying to Cover was as a staff member, so maybe she'll just be moving there. She could also just go under a new persona and go indie or create her own vtuber agency, as she has stated having an interest in doing so in the past.

She didn't get canceled exactly, at least not in her own region or globally. Like 8 months ago, she was reading out her sub counts on youtube by region (I think it was sub counts, might have been superchat earnings or something). She was literally just reading the page as it appears in her youtube statistics. In reading the regions, she read taiwan and it's sub count. That's it. That's all she did.

This led to massive outrage from china and a fairly large and dedicated group of ultranationalists have been harassing her ever since (death threats, spamming her stream chat constantly for months with bots making it unusable, of course saying horrible things to her on social media, doxxing her, etc). And it wasn't just like random people, there were dedicated communities that planned this stuff. They would also spread this harassment to anyone she worked with, although not nearly for as long.

It never let up the entire time since it happened and a fair amount of people have avoided collabing with her as a result. Despite being the driving force behind the company opening an english branch, she hadn't been allowed by the company to work with them the entire time until recently (which, in retrospect was probably only approved after she decided to quit).

Oh, china also gave an ultimatum to cover corp (the company that owns hololive) to fire coco or withdraw from china. Hololive had a chinese branch and plenty of the JP branch streamed on bilibili (the main chinese streaming platform). Hololive suspended Coco but refused to fire her and ended up terminating their chinese branch as a result and they can no longer stream on bilibili.

Literally because someone read data off their youtube page once. China is pretty absurd.

EDIT: We don't technically know why Coco left. We can gather that it was her choice and that it was decided a while ago from what some other members have said. It's possible that it was entirely from the harassment which did visibly get to her on a few occasions or it could be primarily motivated by something else. She did say she was unable to share her reasons and apologized for that but thats all we know for now.

one thing to note is that someone else (aqua) also made the same mistake right before her, which led a lot of incensed chinese nationalists to believe she did it on purpose out of malicious intent to draw attention away from the other person. in reality, the streams happened pretty close together iirc and it was pretty unlikely she actually meant anything by it

but it was leveraged against her intensely by trolls

So, I "beat" Animal Crossing. Gonna keep at it for a while though. Still have to pay off my current loan and upgrade my house once more. Have 194 bugs saved to sell(min value of 2,400 bells each) to Flick and a bunch of fish, though not nearly as many for C.J. I do like the game, but there's room for improvement.

Played a little bit so far, still in the tutorial. If theres nothing to do I guess it won't be that big of a deal for me, I'll just drop it and maybe come back when there is. Also jesus the tutorial is too long. I like that i-framing a move makes a noise now. Feels like the i-frame window is larger too but maybe thats just me.

Super happy that mags are apparently unrelated to stats now. The only part of your build you can truly ruin now is the skill tree which still can't be respecced for free it seems like.
