Started watching Sentouin, Hakenshimasu!. It's fairly fun so far. I get the Konosuba comparison. They're not the same, but have a similar feel. Anime season ending is a good time.

been playing a lot of dungeon fighter online recently and for the first time in the roughly decade i've played this off and on, i'm actually at endgame for once

the lag makes fights buggy but they are pretty neat, and playing as buffer is really satisfying

Finished up saint from this season. I feel like it got worse in the last few episodes. The show was more fun when it was sei randomly being good at stupid stuff like brewing tea or cooking or gardening. The last few episodes were more plot focused but the plot is really boring and they seem to have settled onto romance with just one person which is also uninteresting. Not like it's completely terrible, but I'm not sure I'd watch a season 2.

Been reading Senryuu Shoujo. It's light m, but hilarious and cute. WAFF series where nothing serious or bad happens (the author even explicitly said they want only good things to happen in the manga), and Nanako is super adorable. (But second most adorable "Nanako.")

Man, the spider anime is such a shit production. They had to delay an episode for a week midseason and now the very last episode that should have aired today is "delayed indefinitely" do to production issues. What?!? The last 2 episodes also had exceptionally shit CG even for the show. Well, it is the studio behind berserk 2016 so I guess failure should be expected.

While I am happy that the missing Trails games are no longer missing, and I am happy to see a fan translation team going official, I recall a similar happening with the translation for several of the Ys games, and that ... did not end too well, IIRC.

Still, the localization is based on the work the fans have already done so hopefully they just stick those on there with only the minimum of changes.

In other news I've been playing Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. Pretty fun combat and the farming is pretty complex and surprisingly deep.

That's not translators' fault. They get told how to translate things by the companies even if it's wrong.

The geofront localizations are very good. They are some of the highest quality fan translations I have played.
Also the NISA localizations of Cold Steel 3 and 4 are not bad at all. They are of the same calibur of the xseed localizations.

Steam sale got me, but only a little. Biggest gets for me are Xanadu Next and Record of Agarest War: Mariage, the only game I am missing in that series, plus the standard RPG Maker fare I normally get.

Man kingdom is hilarious sometimes with how over the top they can be about some things. The latest episode was like 15 minutes of two generals talking the most ridiculous trash. In some ways it kind of reminds of jojo in that aspect.

This week in general is the dull weak though. Half the shows or more ended a week ago and nothing new starts until next week. Oh well. I hope next season has some surprises. Theres like 10+ isekai so hopefully at least 1-2 are good.

Wrapped up the final episode of max level witch. I'm gonna miss it. Blue dragon and demon king are best girls. I hope it gets a season 2.

I still have nagatoro's last episode to watch. Looks like some stuff starts on the 1st so I won't have to wait too long for some new stuff. The season overall looks kind of meh outside of sequels but theres so much that could be decent that I'm hoping for a few pleasant surprises even though I expect most of it to fall flat.

The problem is that they're leading up to a season 2 for a show that won't have a season 2.
Which is just a kick in the balls. Lots of anime seem to be doing that recently.
But yea, I have not seen a single positive review from the special.

Just wrapped up the last anime of the current season which was nagatoro. Man, how did a show with that first episode end up being the sweetest romance anime I've seen in ages. It wrapped up with pure diabetes. I hope theres a 2nd season although even if there weren't, it'd be fine to end it there.

You guys know of any games similar to Slime Reincarnation. Basically, looking for a rpg where you can go and have adventures, but also build up your own town/city. Closest thing I can think of off the top of my head, is Fallout 4. The scale is a bit too small in that though and tbh, I found the world disappointing in it. There are rpgs I've played where you can revive a town, like Dragon Warrior 3 and Tales of Symphonia, but those aren't right either. Dragon Quest Builders 2 was a lot of fun, but not quite right either. Animal Crossing is on too small a scale as well and the mystery islands are very disappointing. Any games like this you guys would recommend?

Kenshi? It's more of an RTS/open ended RPG though. If you can get into it, you'll probably love it, but it's one of those kind of brutal sorts of games (but it has a very variable difficulty slider and a lot of different starts, especially with mods. some modded starts are basically a shortcut to the city building part). you'll have to mod in some aspects like visitors purchasing things or just ambient villagers, but, well, it's super moddable. This is probably the closest to what you want if you want actual freedom, but there's not really a main plot

Dark Cloud's kinda old and I don't like the actual combat but the city building aspect is a huge part of it

The Suikoden games can feel this way because you have 100~ people to recruit each game and they often brings upgrades to your main base, so it feels like progress is constantly happening as you do sidequests to bring people to your side. 2's the one everyone loves and I think I remember enjoying it the most too

Mount and Blade is kind of similar but you don't design the layout of cities, it's more about kingdom management (once you eventually reach that level, which may take a very long time)

Daughter of essence kind of works that way. You go on adventures and recruit/rescue people that come live in your hideout and you choose which parts to upgrade (annoyingly you can't upgrade everything). That's the closest thing I can think of. After playing it I was looking for something similar and couldn't find anything.

I guess kenshi works that way too but it's a lot less personal feeling, still a lot of fun though. It's more like a...sandbox rts I guess.

All of the solidarity betwen Niji and Holo fans with both Lulu and Coco leaving a day apart has been incredible. The two talents couldn't be any more different from one another.

Kenshi has been on my radar for years and years. It was in the first batch of games when Steam started experimenting with adding indies to the store iirc. I've got a copy of Suikoden 3, but no ps2 unfortunately. Never played the series, or Dark Cloud. Daughter of Essence seems neat. Legend of Queen Opala Origin lets you have a base eventually too.

Btw, in Slime diaries, there's a little girl goblin who is super adorable. Can't remember her from the main show though.
