I actually agree. Corporate management (in the US, anyway) will always respond to financial trouble by punishing their workers before punishing themselves. Doing business in a corporate tax-free environment will mitigate that to at least a small extent, and you can make up the loss in tax revenue - and then some - by raising individual taxes on the wealthy, including those same managers.

You realize that companies could always just pay their CEO more instead of taxes right? Corporate taxation is one of the things that led to the explosion of executive pay. In the exact same way that departments spend their budgets instead of losing them, companies could spend money, or lose 30% of it.

I've spent years in this topic interjecting whenever Cuomo's profile starts to raise that he's awful and to not be fooled. Unfortunately, we're (NY) stuck with him because he basically controls the state machines... or conversely fortunately for everyone else, he's still trapped in here with us.

He won't resign and I'm pretty skeptical that impeachment efforts will find real traction because, again, he runs the state party machines. Best we can hope for is a strong challenge in the primaries. Nixon... was not that, but no one stood a real chance which is why no strong candidate dared run lest they find themselves paying for it politically afterwards.

Even before COVID and these allegations, he basically acted in some of the more underhanded ways possible to split and dilute the progressive vote and kept the state in a deadlock and prevented any real progressive reform from happening despite it being New York. He only started to slightly change his tune after 2018 when those midterms swept out the controlled opposition (I normally would be loathe to use this term given how its prominence in conspiracy but literally what else would you call the IDC and the like?) and finally gave Democrats control of the state legislature so he couldn't just scuttle progressive legislation there and act like he was clean of it all.

But yes, given both his actions regarding COVID and the allegations he should resign immediately. Hell, either one alone would warrant it, but both is just...
