you not getting sick isnt evidence of anything, because the masks arent for protecting the person wearing them. theyre for keeping you from spreading stuff to other people. how have you not processed this information by now?

I am not taking part in social conditioning where I see idiots on the street putting masks on their dogs and infant children and such. The lack of any common sense there is unreal.

I went to a Red Robin yesterday and no one had masks on, but I go grocery shopping right next door and everyone is wearing them. The same elected officials who tell everyone to stay home tell everyone that protests don't spread viruses around and those are perfectly fine. If people are that dumb and that inclined to be sheeple idiots, I refuse to ever go along with them.

It's legitimately embarrassing that we're in a pandemic and there isn't wall to wall coverage about boosting the immune system.

The point is your personal anecdote has no scientific basis and is the same as someone saying tobacco is fine because they personally have never gotten cancer from it

I live in Japan and I've seen more and more people not wearing masks due to the heat. We're also setting records for daily cases recently. When the pandemic first started, a lot people were already wearing masks for flu season/pollen allergies. Once we had the first case in Japan people bought up masks like crazy and you almost never saw someone outside without a mask. Do you think it's a coincidence that Japan is so low on the list of total cases?

Really hard for me to keep my son wearing his mask at Kennywood when so many people have taken theirs off, don't have their nose covered, or have them around their chins. He keeps asking why he has to if they don't.

That was basically Kennywood. They clearly had a no confrontation rule. Like a hot girl was on a ride with her mask on her chin. They announced over PA to make sure you have your mask on. Reminded a second time the ride won't depart unless their mask is on properly over both their mouth and nose. She just ignored all of it. And then the ride departed.

By the end of the day, probably 40% had masks on improperly or not on at all. Beginning of the day it was very much better. However, the heat hit later on which probably contributed to it.

For Six Flags, it was totally up to the ride operators individually on different rides. Like there were some rides where people had their masks on improperly and no one spoke to them, then other rides were a lot more strict and actually would not let you on if you weren't wearing it over your mouth and nose. Like I said, in theory, the measures they are taking will work very well. There's a limit to the number of people allowed in, and you need a reservation to get in anyway. Never had I seen the park so "nice", honestly. It was pleasant because of the much reduced number of people that were there. They also kept people plenty far apart from other parties on the rides themselves. The only issue with theme parks I think is it reliant on the staff to enforce that mask policy, and you are asking low wage, mostly just out of high school age, people to deal with a population that doesn't give a shit. Hard thing to do.

We gave them a try a little over 3 weeks ago now because Genny has a diamond elite membership and paying Six Flags monthly for nothing wasn't sitting too well.
