belgium had a pretty strict lockdown. not sure if it was as strict as the lockdowns in chile, peru, uganda and mozambique but it was certainly more strict than the sweden lockdown.

I don't know if I believe this one either!

Naively I would guess that public transport is relatively safe compared to other large gatherings of people because most people aren't talking and there's a decent amount of ventilation from the door being opened at every stop. I still wouldn't want to be riding the subway to work every day, though.

It sounds like it's about public safety to me. But then, what do I know? I just think the virus isn't going to go away if we thoughts and prayers and pretend it's still around. Enforcing a lockdown for a real reason isn't a "slippery slope" unless we let it be one. And this isn't a borderline case, the virus is scaling upwards in a lot of countries, including the usa. You see those numbers? Higher amounts of cases worldwide every day. Just because we allow more stringent measures in a genuine emergency doesn't mean we need to allow them in everyday life.

The amazing thing is that instead of people encouraging the hell out of him for doing that and trying to get him to do more (which is what normal, sane people who care about saving lives would do), i have seen a ton of people crushing him for being late because this is all just a team sport at this point

Well, the problem is he's been against masks for so long that it's probably not going to do a lot of good at this point.

It's like if somebody complains their soup is too hot and you put an ice cube in it 30 minutes later.

Props to him for actually doing it, but it's absolutely worth criticizing how late he did it. Minds aren't going to suddenly be changed. Instead, a lot of his supporters are just going "The deep state got to him!" and "25D chess, the master!"

Well, I think if some people in our country were given the option of A. Trump do good and eradicate the virus and be re-elected or B. Fail and the virus ravage the United States and him not get re-elected, that some of those would rather it be B because supposedly B is better in the long run somehow.

So, yeah, Trump deserves criticism for undermining CDC recommendations to wear masks and for not getting behind masks right away. However, the people you are most likely talking about want him to fail most likely anyways.

I assume you're thinking of the "equal rights" brand of feminism that died out in the 80s. It's nothing but radicalized nonsense now.

Feminism in 2020 is nothing more than rewriting all of the laws and influencing all of that culture so that it only helps women, which invariably turns into only helping white women if they're the ones with the influence. Did you honestly know without looking it up that Affirmative Action was written to help black people get chosen for jobs and college, but it's gotten more white women in those spots than any other minority? It's true. Look it up.
