I grew up assuming I was straight since I find women attractive, and I still do, but now I identify as asexual because I have no desire for actual sexual activity.

Aegosexual is the niche specific asexual identity I most identify with. Im aroused by the idea of sexual activity but have no interest in participating.

The prostitution stuff Im partially known for around here was a phase of my life where I was trying to figure out what I was missing. I thought there must be something about sex that made it good that I was just missing, and I wanted to experiment without having to live up to any performance expectations or relationship drama.

Evolved is probably too strong a word. As a kid, I never knew any openly gay people, or if I did, it went over my head, so I was sorta naturally homophobic for a long time without fully realizing it. I'm basically never physically attracted to men, but I have grown to recognize that some things I enjoy doing with women could work functionally just as well with a man. That said, I don't find myself feeling compelled to pursue men in any way, not physically and definitely not romantically. And I'm certainly more into women than ever. So it's not like "oh, no I could never", more just I don't have any interest in it.

It's complicated, but I identified as bisexual for a while, then as gay for a long time, and am back to bisexual - I've had to kind of "figure out" how to be attracted to women

So, I knew I liked guys sexually in school, so that meant I had to be gay. Because everyone knew that was how that worked.

Then I grew up and realised I was bisexual because that's actually a thing.

And then over time I've realised I'm heteroromantic and always was. Because that's also a valid thing.

Well I put "yes" but it's complicated. "No, I'm just as straight as I've always been" is probably closest to accurate if I had to pick a no option and might be the most accurate if you're part of the sexual orientation elite, but like I think I'd put myself as very mildly bi at this point when I wouldn't have when I was much younger. I'd never enter a relationship with a man but like, there are men I'd call attractive and a threesome involving such a man is fine.

And then on the other hand there have been parts of my life where I identified as asexual because yeah just didn't care to put any effort at all.

But I've been in a relationship for 8 months now and we are very sexually active and I'm very happy in the relationship with her so like, obviously I'm not remotely asexual now, so maybe it was less a sexual orientation thing and more a general ennui thing I don't know.

I dunno, it's complicated. I used to identify as very straight but since coming out as trans that's turned into very gay, and I do feel really good about identifying as gay, but I don't think I can say I'm exclusively gay. I'm very down with trans guys and most non-binary folks. I still have a pretty strong distaste for cis guys, but with maybe one or two exceptions.

But mostly I'm not sure I fit the typical attraction model. Like there's people I find attractive, and would jerk off to porn of, but I probably wouldn't want to actually have sex with them? Meanwhile there's people I wouldn't be interested in porn of that I would feel good about having sex with? Also what kind of sex I want is more focused on my partner's pleasure than my own.

I think the niche that best describes my sexuality is demisexual, which is when you don't feel physical attraction to someone until emotional bonds are formed. Or maybe semsexual, which I believe is when you feel sexual attraction but no desire to act on it? Somewhere in that area, which I guess is part of the asexual spectrum, although identifying as ace doesn't feel right either. Maybe my perception is wrong but "asexual" doesn't feel nearly horny enough to describe me.

Complicating this, I'm not really in a position to try things out and figure it out better right now, in part though not exclusively because of the pandemic. But, for the purposes of this poll, I suppose that makes me a "yes", though I haven't fully figured it out and I don't know if I'd say my sexual orientation has evolved as much as my understanding and acceptance of it has.

Figured myself to be Ace or Demi, basically cause sex isn't something I seek out, and while it's happened, it's not done much for me. Yet I still am attracted to females, just sex isn't something I care about at all.

I think this is the most accurate. Like people say all the time that sexuality is fluid but I think it's less about your orientation being fluid and more about your understanding of your own sexuality that's improving over time. Speaking just in general here, not specifically in your case.

well that's why I say it's more a subgroup of bisexual, basically I lean more towards guys. Just makes things a bit more specific for myself and where I'm at, if I talk in general I'll just say I'm bisexual. But more in-depth I'd be like yeaaaa I lean more towards guys but I don't want to erase the bisexuality aspect and how there are women I am attracted to/have been in the past with relationships and such.

I briefly wondered if I may be asexual before realising that I'm not, I just suck that badly when it comes to women.

I've always been completely straight. I remember back in school when one of my best friends revealed himself to be bi and liked me I thought a lot about it. I kinda wanted to find men attractive at least a little bit, but I never did at all, I'm incapable of being turned on by other men even the slighest bit, and I'm also incapable of determining the sexuality of other guys and even determining if some guy could be considered good looking (other than using objective criteria like "this guy is well trained, so probably attractive" etc). I've never been homophobic, when I care for someone I'm usually physically close to them as well, and I've had a fair share of friends openly tell me that they've appreciated that I kept being that as comfortable with them after they told me they were into men. Perhaps because I've never doubted my own sexuality.

Well sure but like, attraction is a pre-requisite for libido. For me, anyway. I'm not really the type of person who bangs someone that isn't attractive to me just because I really want action that's kinda gross and I'd honestly rather just go solo at that point.
