Im putting $20k into NKLA. I really believe that 1-2 years from now itll be over $100. Its setting the foundation for a greener truck industry.

Edit: I set a 60-day limit order at $33.40. I expect itll dip below that before it rises a lot.

Yes. Its obviously easier if you can arrange some downtime throughout the day. But with day trading you really need to paying attention to the market throughout the day, especially right after you buy.

Fuck it. I lowered my investment to $10k in NKLA but bought it now. I need to start learning to hold, and NKLA and AVCT will force me to do that. Catch me in two years with these two.

Actually changed my mind. I dunno. I'll need to do more research. The thing opened at about its 52 week high and then dropped to hell and never really came back. Not a given it ever does-- may have just been overvalued out of the gate.

I sold my LK position at $6.10. Ended up with a 42% profit. It was a very scary 2 months and in the middle I had almost written it off as a 100% loss but it worked out. Thanks for the tip!

Oh hey LK is close to back to where I first bought it :O

By close to back I mean it's down 12%

It's surreal. LK was showing a big red number every day.....like -65% before I added more shares around $2. Now all the losses are erased and I have a realized gain close to the same amount in dollars as the unrealized peak losses were.

I think my heart can't take more downswings like when it fell from $4.90 to $3.30 yesterday. It fell more than 10% today from open to the bottom at $5.50 also. I mean my heart can take it but I'm not sure I want to spend hours per day watching a ticker move haha.

Come on AVCT dip a little more! My order only got partially filled at 2.12.

So we had a great May jobs report. And the market is flying. At this point, nothing looks like a bargain anymore. I've been looking for stuff to buy and the whole list looks overpriced.

I've noticed that LK has a pattern where it will drop 15-30% in 20 minutes to an hour and then come roaring back. I dunno which way it's going, but this is the kind of pattern where having a fixed stop loss of 10% would eat you alive. You'd probably be down a lot over the past 2 days even while the stock is up 120% because each spike downwards forces you to sell at a loss and then you don't get to participate in a lot of the upside because you sold at the bottom.

I got in on MFA at $1.20 and I'm lowkey freaking out watching it climb over the last little while. I'm still planning on holding since the only reason I got into the market in the first place was to give my savings for a home down payment a major booster shot over the next year and a half. MFA looks rock solid historically so I feel pretty comfortable continuing to hold. Any thoughts on that from the more experienced traders here?

So I did some analysis of my active trading over the last few months.

I had most of my savings in mutual funds earlier this year (VTSAX, etc) and when everything started crashing I liquidated a large portion... of course I timed it perfectly where I sold VTSAX at its lowest. However, using those funds, I've made 3x as much as I would have if I left it alone to where it's recovered today.

Feels pretty good.

I dunno. I think historically companies rarely win at the hearing to not get delisted once the exchange has decided they don't want them. I don't think it particularly matters for LK to the extent that it has value as a business. The shares just get traded on OTC. It would matter to the extent that the share price is driven by having attention. It won't get this level of attention on OTC. So I guess if the company gets delisted and also continues to not provide real news about what's going on with its operations, the stock probably won't do well.

In any case, I am happy I sold this morning at $6.10. Would have been pretty stressful watching it lose a whole dollar.

I think most brokers will let you trade OTC. Like 98% sure Ameritrade will do it.

Today, the Nasdaq hit a new all-time high (intraday). The Dow is about 8% below its last all-time high from February. The S&P 500 is about 6% below its last all-time high from February.

Im letting everyone know what the trends are expected to be in the upcoming week. With that being said, Im currently only invested in NKLA and AVCT. I dont plan on long-term investing any other stocks besides those two, and instead plan on day trading the usuals.

I wouldn't be surprised at pullbacks given how strong the market has been

It's hard to find bargains now. Been trying for the past 2 days and found nothing. The fact that so many meme stocks (GNUS), bankrupt stocks (Hertz), etc. are getting seeing huge upswings now is also a sign of market euphoria.

That said, the downturn could be next week. It could be next month. It could be next year. It could be long after a short seller is forced into bankruptcy. Who knows.

THE SELL AND FULL RE-INVEST METHOD
You put $1,000 in stock A at $5.00. It goes up to $5.50 at which point you sell. You immediately buy back in using your original $1,000 plus the profit of $100, totaling $1,100 at $5.50. It goes up to $6 and you sell.

I think I did: $5.50 to $6 is 9.090909% increase. I rounded it to 9.1%. Then 9.1% of $1100 is $100.10 but I wrote $100.09 since I rounded up? I dont know. Whats it supposed to be? Ill fix it for next time.
